Mom for the WIN on that one! Sadly, if we had Glamour Shots here I certainly wasn't privy to a session. Undoubtedly too expensive for us at the time.

Nicole in TX I dont remember I think so- they give you a series of different outfits. I have several different shots in different outfits. like that. I resized it so it wasn't so huge. Obviously I'm tiny so everything was huge on me anyway. I also don't wear makeup, so that was a bit of a change. My hair gotten a lot lighter as I've gotten older.

Well, that picture has just freakin' made my day. bahahahaha haha Thank you for posting!! ETA hey, all of you were young and beautiful. I wish I'd done it 25 years ago, too, so I'd have something younger/thinner/more glam to admire today. Thank you all for posting. It is brave.

Oh...I'm quite certain they would do a fairy shot for you. I mean, if they'll do this one: They'll certainly do anything.

Oh yes! Someone gave me a Glamour Shot photo session for my 18th birthday back in 1988. The photographer was going for "sultry". He completely missed the mark, I just look like I want to kick somebody's ass. Yes it's cringeworthy as hell, but I still love it because it looks so very stereotypically 1980's overdone glamour. You look like you should have been on la law! Very dramatic and very cute!

Great shots!! Now I want to go dig mine out from whatever cobwebs they are under. I had them done in the early 90's also. I remember that she kept going for the sexy look but gave up. She told me that you just can't get sexy out of 4'10" 90 lb person and my face looked sad instead of sexy. lol
Thanks for sharing!!

Oh goodness yes! I too was in denim! Huge hair, tons of make up, huge earrings, blue suede strapless top with a denim jacket, and of course a few with my haor blown back with the fan I know my mom has one but I'll have to see if I have one still? If I find it I'll post it! Still looking for a normal pic for the other thread lol.

a couple years ago we had a girls night at my house and did glamour shot remakes- we chose the iconic poses, a friend had a bunch of prop clothes from the 80s when her dad was a photographer, we hung a glittery backdrop in my shower because the light in there gave the perfect soft halo effect lol. did our makeup and hair big. it was pretty awesome.

Sadly no. I wanted to so much. My parents wouldn't allow it. It was too much money and didn't portray the right image.

not a victim as much as I was a perpetrator. I did it to myself. I did a bad, bad thing and no one stopped me. I think I have gathered and burned all the evidence. if I could just bleach DH's memory of it, I could die in peace.
a funny story though. I though I had destroyed all the pics until years ago when my dad was out of town. my sister and I had to go over to his house to get mail or something. I turn and there on his wall was one my sister and I did. it was like in the movies where someone yells "nnnoooooooooo" in slow motion and dives to grab something. that was me. I dove for the frame and snatched it off the wall. he never said anything when he got back. I don't even think he remembers there was a frame there but I shudder at the poor people whose eyes needed bleaching after seeing that photo. I shudder just remembering it.

My mom didn't want to spend the money on a high school senior photo session with a regular photographer, so my senior portrait was taken at Glamour shots.
I'll post the photo later. I look like I'm in my 40s, and the hair and makeup is the least fancy and ridiculous as I could get them to do it.

Glamour Shots weren't really a thing when I was a teen, but Star Shots were. Same concept but less about the make up/hair and more about the poses and the people in them. I did it twice, once with two other girls and another with just one girl. Most important part was to NEVER EVER smile. You had to look smoldering and serious. They would apply a bunch of filters and soft focus, it was ridiculous. But I still have a stack of those photos from all of my friends in middle school.
