I never could achieve the big hair displayed in these shots. I really wanted it, though.

Yes! My sister, mom and I did them around 91-92. Wow. Mom's got all the pictures at her house. I'll try to go by there this weekend and take some pictures of them. Mom didn't let them make her look sexy though. We still joke about her picture that it looks like head shot for a political campaign. We tried to get her to run for mayor just on the merit of her glamour shot. I do remember it was fun as hell…big hair and all!

This thread made me laugh and I was "sad" that I never did the Glamour Shots thing...but then I remembered the pre-wedding portrait sitting that was included in my photography package. Even at the time the guy was taking these I was horrified but I had a wicked migraine that day so didn't make a peep of protest. I kept these hidden for years (the actual wedding photography was normal, thank God.) This was in 1990: Attachments:

finsup, when I see poses like yours in photos, I always wonder, "what IS that person thinking about and contemplating, looking off into the distance like that?" You were beautiful! ...minus the odd pose and look, that is... I never had any of these done, but I'm (almost) regretting it, looking back at all of yours-- I'm loving the 80s - 90s hair and outfits!!

I'll play....this picture is actually still in a frame in DH's office, so I had to take a pic with my stupid phone......It's a bit blurry, etc, but shows the essence of me being a cowgirl...... Not as bad as some, but not my true personality. I think these were actually done late 90s so no BIG hair but did have the 1000 mile gaze and the pleather jacket!

I think glamour shots from a couple of decades ago are 'dated', of course, but so are a lot of regular family photos from different eras. I think most of you look beautiful, if you look past the things that date the portraits. Of course, some of the hairstyles, and wardrobe choices can give a chuckle, lol, but the women behind them are actually pretty darned stunning! I never had professional glamour shots done, though I do my own. I am sure that years from now I will look back and cringe, lol, but hey, you gotta live in the moment.

My mom and I did them years ago, probably very early 90's. I had very big hair and one had an acid wash Jean jacket. I have some tucked away somewhere just not sure where.

Oh...I'm quite certain they would do a fairy shot for you. I mean, if they'll do this one: They'll certainly do anything. After recent threads, I swore I'd be a kiwi heart for life, but I may just have to make an exception for this awesome piece of WTF.

OK....I read someone's thread about posting a picture, so I'm gonna try....the last time it was too big and I couldn't resize it, so maybe this will work.....(Unfortunately, it looks as bad small as it did large...LOL! This was in the mid-eighties, I think......) Yes.....this is the picture I woke up to at the top of my newsfeed.......Thanks, mom....

Oh yes, let's just relive the trauma. It was a Saturday morning and I was having my senior pictures done. The photographer would "give us a sitting for free" if I would sit for a glamour shot so he could use it as advertising. How could she resist so my mom said I had to. There I sat with a black feather boa, a halter top which he kept pushing lower. Then, I was smiling and told to "pout." My eyes say fuck you, my mouth says I'm a two year old. My mother loved it and claimed it was the "one picture that actually looks like me." In order to complete the deal, he blew it up to 16 x 20 and displayed it IN THE MALL!!! OMG. My life was seriously over. There is ONE picture remaining. A 4x6 that is in a collage type frame at moms. I will destroy it as well someday. It is truly horrific. I have very thick hair, it was literally shoulder width and as high as it could go.
I need a drink.

This is actually my favorite picture of my mom and I. She hates it though and I don't really know why. Maybe I'll use it as my next TBT photo on Facebook and tag her to mess with her a little.

I never did it but remember the store being by my favorite mall store at the time, UNITS! Who remembers those awesome cotton M.C. Hammer pants. Or the belt that could be worn as a tube top? Man I miss those.

I'm very jealous. I always wanted to have them done but couldn't afford it. My boyfriend was a photographer though so he used to use me for practice.
No big hair, I was into the trendy blue/black hair and pale pink lipstick phase of my life but still managed to try and do the "sultry, cool model" look!
I tried to put a photo in but it said the file is too big.

I did it, but I have no idea where the photo is. I'm sure my husband does as he loved it, and is now hiding it to save its life. Cause if I ever find it ... I have one of those lighter wands with its name on it.

These photos are great!!! I never had glamour photos taken. I'm so not glamourous LOL. I had no interest in this or having my colours done. Remember that fad?

Yikes! Huge. I'll have to figure out how to resize it. This wasn't a Glamour Shot. I was 19 and modeled for some photography students in college. The assignment was for her to do a magazine cover. It certainly has the feel of a glamour shot, though.

My oldest DD wants Glamour Shots style photos for her senior pictures, only with cats. Like, in a bathtub, big hair, but instead of bubbles- cats. Or laying on her side, and instead of an artfully draped sexy dress- cats. All our cats are grouchy or half feral, but a friemd from the rescue has 6 laid back cats she said she would bring if I can set it up. I was thinking I'd have to hire a photographer and find props myself, but I wonder if glamour shots would do it?! They could do the hair better than me for sure.
I looked, and they are still around, by me! She will be so excited!
(I told her she has to get some regular ones done, too)
