What ink do you use when you are stamping using a stencil and cardstock? What do you use to apply the ink to the stencil/cardstock?
I am trying to get some use out of the stencils I have that I used to use a lightbox to emboss with.
TIA, Ginger

I use a blending tool,Tim Holtz or use a cosmetic sponge...you can use the different sprays that are out there as well.

I went out and got a bag of cosmetic sponges. I used those. I'm not sure stenciling is my thing. The results are fine. I just don't think I'm into it.
Thanks

I didn't have any luck with cosmetic sponges. I was much more successful with the TH tool.

I did okay with cosmetic sponges, but I think what you really want to make stenciling with ink pads successful is a slightly glossy paper. The ink will blend a little more smoothly.

So, I worked with this technique yesterday.
I used makeup sponges, distress ink and stencils. The results are fine. I also want to try using the round TH tool to see if that changes my mind. I did like the makeup sponges because I used 1 sponge per color. I then wrote the color on the side of the sponge.
I also discovered that a general design for me is better than something specific. I have a swirl stencil. I like how that turned out. I have a wildflower stencil. I'm not that thrilled with that result. I couldn't get the shading I was hoping for.
Practice is the key I guess!!

You can also tape down the stencil, prepositional tape...
