Ok, I know, first world problem or whatever.....
I'm super irritated. Ordered an exercise mat for my crossfit/boxing class on July 1. It was supposed to get here on the 3rd. No e-mail from amazon, no call, no text, no nothing. Just a sign that says "your delivery has been delayed" when I check on the status. I bruised my knee the first day of class because the floor is concrete and their mats suck, which is the reason I ordered the extra thick mat. The boxing gloves and gel handwraps I ordered (and for which I paid next day shipping) arrived yesterday. The customer service rep asks me, " would it be helpful if I send an email to the carrier (amazon logistics) to see where your item is located?"
Ummmmmmm....how can you not know if the carrier is Amazon logistics? and No. I don't care if the item is in Timbuktu. I only care that it's not at my house. I have another class on Monday which I will probably miss trying to go buy another mat.
This sucks.

Did you purchase it from Amazon? Or was it a third party seller? I have only had delays when it was the latter.

Amazon prime frequently lets me down on stuff like this. A few years back I could order an item and get it in two days. Now I order, it takes them two days to pack my item and ship it and two to three days with the courier. Just so not what I am paying for. So now I complain every time and at least.get a.$5 credit.

It's been routinely taking orders from Amazon (not outside vendors) 2 weeks to get here. This was never a problem until recently. I called and asked how to avoid this in the future and was told that I had to select 2 day shipping at checkout instead of the standard we've always selected and never had a problem with! Selecting 2-day charges us extra! Anyone else have a clue here?
As nice as the woman was, she said that by selecting standard, even though we'd ordered a week ago, we were so low down the priority list that any new orders would be shipped before us! She also said that she couldn't fix the problem, even though the stuff was packaged together and just sitting there at the warehouse. Not impressed.

That's odd. I had a package delayed last week-- I think something happened to the UPS trailer it was in, if I am making proper inferences from the UPS tracking-- and I got at least three emails about it. After I'd already figured out from checking the tracking myself, mind you, but I did get emails from Amazon.
Now, I don't entirely believe what UPS put into the system, because they said it was delayed due to weather. Well, it shipped from PA and between here and there had been BEAUTIFUL all week. So it wasn't weather. The truck was just late getting to the distribution facility in my state.

I didn't notice I purchased it from 3rd party seller, but in my mind, it shouldn't matter. If the item is prime eligible, then it's really not relevant to me who the seller is. I got off the phone with the customer service representative and she informed me that the item was damaged during transport and that's the reason I didn't get it. Well, I asked her-if the item was damaged during transport, why do you have to wait for me to call for the seller (whoever that is) to immediately send me another item and more importantly, notify me? I told her that in the big scheme of things, a late-arriving exercise mat is not going ruin my life, but the lack of customer service on the part of amazon irritated me. I'm paying for a service and I expect better from Amazon.

I'm in Canada and I think the service is amazing. I've never had a problem with Amazon Prime. As has been said, the only delays we have experienced are from third party sellers, and they do tell you when to expect your delivery, even though it's a long time from ordering. Hope your mat gets there soon!

I jugs had my first Prime package not show up in two days. I ordered some vinyl on Saturday and it said it would be here Tuesday. When I checked the order on Amazon, it was still in route on Tuesday. Not a big deal, but I was surprised. Ordered a MP3 album today and there was a $1 credit in my account. I assume for the order not arriving on time.

That sucks. I would be annoyed too.
That said, I adore prime. I ordered a fan last Saturday afternoon and it was on my doorstep Sunday morning. Damn. I think I've had prime for like 6 years maybe? Maybe less. I order quite a bit and I only remember two late instances. I think that's a pretty fabulous record. Of course one time it was a birthday gift for a party which was really inconvienent but like someone's else said, it was through another seller. I think that is the key.

That said, I almost always get mine overnight. I ordered on Thursday and my package came yesterday morning.

I placed 2 Amazon Prime orders an hour apart. The first order is scheduled to arrive Monday. The second order arrived yesterday - Friday. I've only been a Prime customer for about 4-5 months but find I'm ordering more and more through Amazon because of the fast arrival.

I placed and order last Sunday. Two day shipping would be Tuesday, but it was later Sunday so I'll take Wednesday. Because it says business days and I think if they ship on Monday, then Tuesday, Wednesday. The estimated delivery date was FRIDAY. I complained and got a $5 credit.
I'm finding more and more that the two day shipping is not two days. However, I still love Prime for the music, cloud storage, and books.

I have Prime and I have to "select" two day shipping when I check out (shipping price says free). If I choose "no rush" shipping, I get a $1 credit which can be used on electronic media (Kindle booked, etc) I once had a Prime 2-day item arrive late. I contacted Amazon, and they extended our Prime for one month beyond its expiration date.

I would say that about 10% of my prime orders take longer than 2 days to arrive. It's usually not a big deal to me, but I don't like paying for something I'm not receiving.

So, I'm getting a refund and my Prime membership was extended for a month. Meh.
Just do what it is that I'm paying you to do and I'll be satisfied with that.

Every single time an item is not here on the guaranteed delivery date, I e-mail Amazon to complain. They add another month to my Prime subscription and apologize. After a few complaints in a few months, I stopped having problems completely. Same thing happened to my sister.
I think they test out different delivery options with different subscribers- and if you aren't a squeaky wheel when things don't get delivered on time, it will just keep happening.

I don't like it. I miss Amazon from around 2008-2009 when they were the cheapest and the fastest. That is rarely the case anymore. Just do what it is that I'm paying you to do and I'll be satisfied with that. That's exactly how I feel when I have problems too. I've never had my membership extended, I just get $5 credits. I don't want $5 credits, I want you to do your job. That's good to hear. Hopefully if I keep complaining they'll shape up.

Today when I went to check out, 2 day wasn't even an option. It was standard 5-7 for free or 3 day for almost $100 or 5 day for almost double that. So I'm stuck with standard, which will then take 3 weeks to get here according to the excuse given when I called last time. Is anyone else having this issue? What am I doing wrong?

We ordered a few things we needed before vacation. They were things we could live without and didn't have to have them for vacation... good thing because they didn't arrive and Amazon canceled the order. I think they blamed the address, but they've shipped there numerous times so the address shouldn't be an issue.
Most of the time the orders arrive when they should, but of course when we were leaving town they didn't.

I have been having the same problems. I have been a Prime member for three years. The last three orders have been delayed an all three took twice as long as they should have to be delivered. The last order stated "order in the next 20 minutes to receive by Monday," which was two days later. The package is still on its way and doesn't look like it will be delivered until tomorrow. So not happy about this!
ETA: Just sent an email to complain so I'll see what happens.

My Prime membership expires in December and I will likely not be renewing. Too many times now I have been disappointed by deliveries that are later than they should have been according to the FREE 2-day shipping. Usually, time is not of the essence with my orders. I am a pretty good planner and though I do nearly all of my shopping on Amazon, I order accordingly. I got a great deal on my Prime membership and have enjoyed what is usually a quick turnaround time between ordering and receiving. But in the few times that I HAVE wanted the packages to be delivered on schedule, there have been a few delays. Shipping can usually be had for free if you plan your orders to meet the minimums anyway. I have enjoyed the extra options of Prime Instant Video when it comes to finding something to watch on TV. Unless however, I get a get a screaming deal on renewal, I just don't think it is 'worth' the extra money for membership each year. Especially when some of the few times I have ordered on short notice (for an upcoming birthday gift, etc.) I have been let down.
