I had plans with my boyfriend but he got stuck working. My kids are off doing their own thing. I don't like crowds at all and don't really care about fireworks so I'm just hanging out at home. Anyone else not doing for the holiday, non Americans don't count

As mentioned in a previous thread, we adopted a little rescue dog today...so, we're staying in for the first time. The kids, as you can imagine, are totally ok with it. DH is making steak salad for us later so looking forward to that. Having a cocktail, watching a recording of America's Got Talent. (Secretly glad not to do our traditional fireworks thing because it's so hot and the bats scare me.)

Yep - we are! Both exhausted from work (neither of us took yesterday off because we start vacation next weekend). We were seriously considering going out to dinner, but then we worked more today and decided we're too tired. Sooo - happily home watching vids. Might play some video games in a bit. We did make plans to have brunch together tomorrow and a bit of shopping after.

We are home. Our dogs are very jittery so we didn't want to leave them alone. We lunched and went to the movies earlier today. Yesterday we were with our friends at a BBQ.

We aren't. Husband and oldest son ate ribs and corn, not my thing. I just ate dinner alone and my younger son will be doing the same in a little while. My daughter, who is gung-ho holiday all the time, is at Disneyworld today and will be gone for another 9 days so.... the house is quiet and the guys are unmotivated to do anything and honestly, that is fine by me. I had no interest in battling crowds at the park to see fireworks. No complaints here

I am home in my PJs listening to my neighbors shooting off firecrackers and the like. I have no desire to be eaten alive by mosquitoes again today so I am hiding inside. So far this weekend I have moved six yards of dirt from my driveway to the far rear of my yard (putting in a new flowerbed), raked about half of it flat, trimmed 4 trees, moved a huge pile of rocks to the new flowerbed, made a low brick wall in the new flowerbed, visited my BFF who just had spinal surgery and did a boatload of shopping for my trip to NYC next week. I am done! Just peaing with my blistered hands and putting my blistered feet up. According to my Fitbit, I walked almost 23,000 steps and had 199 active minutes moving that damned dirt. Finished, no more. Taking tomorrow off too.

We're home. Went to a baseball game today (A's beat Seattle) and now we're just hanging at home watching baseball on TV. Baked a pizza for dinner.

Our town had fireworks last night, so I hosted the fifth annual 3rd of July party. My condo's covered deck is the perfect viewing area to enjoy the festivities, and no one has to fight the crowds, parking or worry about bathroom situations That means the house is clean and there are delicious left overs, plus my DD is working this weekend. I have been enjoying the peace and quiet all day!

We are home tonight after spending the day at the lake. Watching the Xfinity race. We live in the boonies, so no fireworks to be heard.

We did a little shopping at Lowes this morning then went to a BBQ with husbands and daughters wood carving club. Then went to Walmart and bought some shelves and drawers for my craft room. Now we are home. Ordered Pizza for them and Chicken wings for me and just hanging with the pups. I will record the fireworks on tv and watch them after about 30 minutes so I can fast forward through all of the crap and get to the fireworks display.
We were going to BBQ but we have to work on the BBQ to get it back to propane from natural gas. Too hot this afternoon so we will do that tomorrow morning and have steaks for dinner tomorrow.
Hope all is having a great day.

I didn't want to deal with crowds. So just hanging at home. I hope we can see some fireworks but no idea. We are new to the area. Tons of people out and about so hoping that is a good sign. If not won't be too upset as we just saw some at a baseball game and they were awesome. I just saw a post that said you could go to a local church but have to enter at other end of the street. I thought the whole street was shut down and figured there wouldn't be any parking of course the road closed before I heard about it. Oh well.

Tell us about your boyfriend, Sam. How did you meet, etc. If you want to, you can post lots of identifying information and the Pea Detectives can do their work and make sure he is an outstanding citizen and a loyal human being. We don't want anyone to mess with you again!

Me! My son is wearing a sling for 3 weeks and still thinks he can climb things. So, I've been following him around the house all day. The older 2 kids went to a family thing that I didn't have the energy to attend (kid in sling!). We ate hamburgers on the grill. About as patriotic as we've got tonight. We might set off a few fireworks when the other 2 get home.

We're all tucked in at our hotel, playing around on our iPads and phones. We saw fireworks after a baseball game last night, so tonight we just ate a quick dinner and went swimming in the hotel pool.

We were out at a parade earlier today, went swimming later, and now we're at home. DD9 is leaving for her first sleepover camp tomorrow, so we're not doing fireworks tonight.

DS and I are staying with my mom this weekend. We had lunch at my sisters house and spent the afternoon and evening with my dad, who is in the hospital recovering from surgery. We are back at moms tonight relaxing.
We saw fireworks at home on Thursday night so we aren't missing much tonight.

Doing nothing here. All fireworks were canceled due to burn ban. And I had major surgery on Monday. So dh is working on the house and I am chilling on the couch.

Me, me, me!! We spent the day shopping and then came home and got my ds moved into his new room downstairs. And then the neighbors started shooting off fireworks and our puppy (a little over a year old) is scared to death of them. In all my years, I've never had a dog scared of fireworks. We ended up having to put him into his crate so he could settle down. Thankfully that worked.

We don't want anyone to mess with you again! Ha ha. We met online a little over a year ago. He's a police officer. He's a good guy and a cat lover like me. Other than that, we have nothing in common, lol. Oh and he's nothing like my ex husband so that's even better. Thanks for looking out.

Yep! I am heading out to the patio with my glass of sangria. The sun is going down and it has been a beautiful day here. No one here but me. Same every day. Later I may watch a movie or do some sewing. We shall see which spirit moves.

Sort of. We were with extended family this afternoon and got back to my parents around 8:30. My dad had surgery a few weeks ago and is having a tough time recovering. He was tired and went to bed. The rest of us are sitting around in front of the TV. I kind of miss seeing fireworks, but it just wasn't do-able this year.
