I'm a card maker and will be attending my very first crop next Saturday. I'm really excited to meet other crafting people... yay! But I don't know what all to bring. I don't want to get bored or stuck doing half projects because I didn't bring enough crafting goodness, but I don't want to go rolling in with half my craft room either! Does anyone have any tips to share? I have a list started, but I'm sure there's a lot of things that haven't even crossed my mind.
Thanks!

Oh dear lord. What NOT to take? (I always overpack.)
You'll want:
trimmer scor-board if you use one adhesive back up adhesive a third adhesive (I take tombow glue, aleene's, scor tape, and 3M foam tape) scissors cardstock for your bases patterned paper if you use it WHITE CARDSTOCK if you are stamping (because I assume you are stamping on it) stamps ink pads whatever you use to clean your ink off your stamps CLEAR BLOCKS if you use cling mount or clear stamps all your awesome embellishments... scissors
It helps if you know whether someone else will have, say, a Big shot, then you don't have to take that.
At MOST crops (at least the ones I've been at) if you forget something, you can say DOES ANYONE HAVE A WIDGET, and someone will have one for you to use.
It also helps if you have kind of an idea of what you want to work on, so you can just take a handful of stamp sets instead of thinking about which ones you might feel like playing with.

decide ahead of time what kind of cards you want to work on... that will limit the stamps you bring. then begin thinking of color combos... do you need matching or contrasting ribbon or flowers, etc. will; up be embossing uor sing dies... what ink colors.... what coloring media. you can challenge your self to make at least five cards from each card set you take... or look on pinterest to find cards for inpsiration.. but planning ahead will be your friend!

Honestly I take everything. Really. I never know what card mood will strike me. And I might get ideas from someone else. It's a bummer to half-way make a card because you "have something perfect for it at home". Trust me that card never gets finished.
Eddie-N-Harley has a great list. But I also bring my Cuttlebug for die-cutting or embossing. And if you're heat emobssing, bring an extension cord. Other items, Pens, a craft knife, washi. She has scissors listed twice, because you WILL need more than one pair. (one for fussy cutting and ribbon trimming, and one for rough cutting scraps and you might lose a pair). A light and a chair pad in case you'll be sitting in folding chairs.
Yes, I really do bring it all.

But yeah, I usually have multiple pairs of scissors, although I use one fine tip for fussy cutting and I try to keep one scissors that only cuts ribbon. BTW, two things I like for transporting all my stuff, which doesn't help you now but may for next time is this set of photo cases in a bigger box from Iris. Let's see, I have (1) brown and black memento pads; (2) tools (scissors, craft knife, some pins, a paper piercer); (3) adhesives (tombow mono, a travel aleene's, diamond stickles, the adhesive erasers, a couple of rust free pins); (4) pens (including a black memento pen, a ball point pen, a sharpie, a pencil, some spica glitter pens)... and then I don't remember what's in the other boxes right now. Also, I have the large CTMH organizer and I took most of my embellishments (gems, pearls, enamel dots, sequins, veneers, etc) out of their packages. the things on sheets I stapled to 3x5 index cards. For loose items, I put them in a little plastic ziploc bag and stapled the bag (just by the back flap on the top of the bag) to a card. Nearly everything condensed down into that organizer that way. Although I still have a bunch of loose packages of things (flowers, newer stuff I got lazy about, SU containers of embellishments, I now just carry that large organizer instead of like four boxes of stuff.

Everything!
Seriously.
Ha!
My scrapping weekends are with friends (there are about 15 of us and we do 2 a year where we rent a house specifically set up for crafters), so even if we forget something, borrowing is a given!

WOW! So many great suggestions! Thank y'all so much! My list has grown!
Eddie-n-Harley, that photo/craft keeper is ah-may-zing! I may just invest in it for future crops.
HA!! That's a great idea!!
Thanks again, everyone!!

When I used to go to crops I spent more time yapping than crafting...hahaha!! One thing that kept me focused was having kits already prepared. Maybe do some of the prep work before hand (die cutting, dry embossing, etc...) so you don't feel like you have to lug everything w/ you. Have fun. I'm jealous you still have crops near you. I don't have anything like this. I have monthly classes where I live so I can meet other crafters but it's not the same.

Don't forget an idea book if you need one, ribbon and a drink-holder. I tend to always overlook my journaling/coloring markers, and believe it or not I've left behind my paper-trimmer a time or two! Have fun!

I do have to drive 40 miles just to get to it, but it's my own fault for wanting to live in the boonies! And I am hoping to make crafty friends. None of my other friends are in to scrapbooking/card making, so they don't get my excitement over new stamps, inks and techniques. I'm so worried I'm going to leave something behind and it'll ruin my day! I'll need to check my list two or three times!

I agree about thinking ahead of what you want to make. I usually put some 'kits' together - and pre make pieces that might be time consuming or require heavy tools I don't want to take eg embossing some images or pre-cutting images with dies. I'm sure you'll have fun whatever you end up taking

I have a list. I actually have many lists, but this one contains all of my supplies in my scrap room (in general, not itemized). It is in alphabetical order and I just go down the list and make sure I have it. I also have all of my pages in pre made kits. I drive two hours to my crops (2 every three months). They also have a few vendors on site so I could get tape or buttons of needed. I have an xl and xxl Navigator and two bags. All four of these bags go into a MacWagon. I generally make titles before I go so I don't have to tote any tool larger than a trimmer with me. I also bring some extra card stock just in case. Bring a cushion to sit on for sure. Large crops often have those hard metal chairs and they hurt after an hour or two.

Thank you everyone for all the wonderful suggestions! I really appreciate it and am working on pre-planning what projects I want to work on. I'm thinking this will be a good time to start my Christmas cards. I'm so excited!
