for the eleventy billionth time, but I watched it with my DS who is 17, and had never seen it before. He loves chick flicks and I think I got just as much pleasure watching him see it for the first time as I did from the film itself. When it finished, he gave a big sigh and just said "I love love."

Shop assistant: Hello, can I help you?
Vivian: I was in here yesterday, you wouldn't wait on me.
Shop assistant: Oh.
Vivian: You people work on commission, right?
Shop assistant: Yeah.
Vivian: Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.
DH and I go around saying "Big mistke. Big, Huge." all the time from this movie.

I've been watching "moms favorite chick flicks" with DD while we are away this summer, just we 2. She loved Sleepless in Seattle and Can't Buy Me Love, Pretty Woman is on the list too!

I prostitution is just background noise in that movie. I think it's really about people making a connection, regardless of their obstacles. No matter where you come from, people have the same basic needs. When they aren't met- things go off the rails, in all kinds of ways.

Dd and I watched the 1982 Poltergeist. She thought it was so lame. Hard to believe that scared me so badly back then

It is such a cute movie. My favorite part is the "big mistake" line. If you ever watch Valentines Day, she revisits that line. So funny, and another good movie.

I saw that movie in the theater, and I believe it was a clip at the end of the movie, right? Like after the credits? I practically shrieked when she said it! lol! Love this movie

I've never seen Pretty Woman, just a couple of clips. Don't say I didn't warn you. Not just a prostitute but a Hollywood Blvd streetwalker. I get grossed out just thinking about it. But clearly, I am in the minority here.

I watch it everytime too, so many great lines in that movie. One of my favorites of Julia Roberts. I love her in stepmom, steel magnolias and something to talk about.

I so wanted to go into one of the stores and repeat some of the liens from "Pretty Woman."

I hate this movie, in no small part because I find Richard Gere really un-sexy. I don't like most chick flicks, with some notable exceptions, and this is like the penultimate Chick Flick.

So
I was 9 when this movie came out.
My grandma took me to see it in the theatre (my parents were pissed). I promptly decided my goal in life was to become a prostitute (which made my parents even more pissed).
You can't argue with the fact that this movie glorifies prostitution.
The relevant question is why are most women ok with the fact that this movie glorifies prostitution.

Own it. Still watch it every time it comes on. My sisters & I do this too, lol! Another favorite of ours is: Oh God, the pressure of a name . . . . . . . . . Cinderfuckinrella!
