Wow. Another subscriber giveaway...a free 12 mo sub if you purchase select items during bundling. They must be finally feeling some subscriber loss and are trying to figure out how to retain what they still have. It might work on some people but I bet they'll still lose a bunch come December. No one wants to pay more for less and no one wants to commit to crazy terms. Well they have already done it....SC screwed up the DD presale/reveal. I just happen to be up at 3am Eastern time with the baby and see a post over on the SC boards... DD presale is up! It would have been around midnight eastern when the post was made. Ali replied and confirmed that it went up by mistake and shouldn't have. Page was being taken down and would come back at the correct time... A nice little surprise for internationals who found it during their daytime hours though! Anyone here see it?! This is getting ridiculous. I'm so wary of buying anything with all the screw ups. Poor Ali :/ |

Ok I think I have a case of kit envy... I can't believe how much is in the Citrus Twist kit this month compared to our friends at SC. So wishing I had switched before now. You can't tell me that any serious company does not benchmark themselves against the competition and see they are way off the mark. Smacks of big time arrogance if you ask me. Can't recall ever seeing so many unsold add on's - gosh Black Friday might be a biggy this year, plenty of product for it! Does anyone recall if the other kit clubs have Black Friday sales? Being international thinking good to have one big stock up and start over next year with one decent club with not such a long commitment. Good to know about the Citrus Twist kits. I'm starting a three month sub of their PL kit. Admittedly, some of their stuff isn't my style (I did a 3 month when they first started) but thought I'd give it another go around. Knowing their kits are jam packed I'm sure what I do use will be worth the money. Even with shipping, it's less than my SC sub. I just looked them up, out of curiosity and wow. That's a lot of stuff. And the add-ons have a reasonable price, too. |

I was just scrolling thru the SC shop and noticed they had 3 Simple Stories collection kits for sale. Have they usually sold other company collection kits? I don't remember them selling stuff like that, but then again it's been quite a while since I've paid close attention.

Yes. I have been a PL subber from the first kit, which I subscribed to sight unseen (I was a SB subber but dropped my SB sub a few years ago). I am not under any commitment now but am likely to sub through December. I will not be re upping in January under the terms they have for a very simple reason: I no longer trust the company. I am not committing to six or twelve months of kits when the company changes kit contents, policies, the nature of subscriptions, and prices. I am sure I am not the only person in my position. I'm guessing the bottom is going to drop out that month. I could've written most of this myself. I have completely lost faith in what my PL kit will include each month. This month's reduction in card stock in the SB kit without any notice was the last straw. What sort of business thinks it's okay to reduce quantities by 50% and not inform subscribers? I still love most of their products and can't say I'll never shop there again. However, I most definitely will not commit to 6 or 12 months of kits knowing that the box could be half-empty any given month. I can only imagine the volume of subber deals that will be sent out in January under the guise of a New Year Sale they had *always* planned on having because they're just so thoughtful.  Too bad their server can't seem to get it together and send them to all registered community members. LOL That is how it started with the card kit. First the card stock was gone (they subbed in 2 premade card bases) and then the whole thing changed to the stationery kit. |

I think I'm going to cancel my Ali Edwards Story Kits when my commitment is up next year. I just don't trust the SC umbrella at all. I really miss my BPC sub that I cancelled last month out of protest but I just can't find it within myself to fork over any more money to that tyrant. It's too bad AE and BPC got sucked into the giant black hole.

I just read the thread about the Alpha set having only one of each letter. It doesn't make sense to me. People have been begging for more letters and numbers in alpha sets for years.
So now people are coming up with words that they can use. But the funny thing is you can't use more than a couple of the words off these lists. That's pretty expensive for an alpha set!

i've been noticing how closely ali is monitoring the the AE board over there; she is obviously aware of the SC problems and doesn't want her name besmirched (ugh - where did that OLD word come from?). i have confidence in ali and i feel for her, walking a tightrope right now. hopefully, she will be able to remove herself from the SC umbrella at some point.

I have never bought from Studio Calico (other than in retail stores). The few times I was tempted the crazy buying frenzies put me off. I did register for their message boards but only visit occasionally to see what new train wreck is going on. I get emails from them almost daily trying to get me to buy or subscribe.

They commented on their Instagram posts that the giveaways were officially closed now. However, they had originally said the giveaways would be open through the bundling period which ends 9/5 at midnight...
Why would they close the giveaway already? It even says on the thread that it would be open until Sat at midnight. Of course now the thread is locked so you can't even ask that question. |

The OP locked the thread and then about 20 minutes or so later there was a form you could download on dropbox. In that form there is a section that states this:
Maximum one (1) entry per person per item for a maximum of ten (10) entries – if it is discovered in the ordinary course of the contest that you entered more than once, you will be disqualified.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: To enter, you must purchase one of the items above or have the option to write a minimum 1,750 word essay on how Studio Calico inspires you. To be entered, mail your essay to: Studio Calico Bundling Contest, Studio Calico, 114 Corporate Court Bowling Green, KY 42103, USA (the “Contest Address”). If submitting an essay you must include your name, address and phone number on top of your essay, and include your signature at the bottom of your essay. All essays must be originals and not mechanically reproduced. If mailing in an essay entry, to be eligible for the contest, such entry must be received prior to 11:59 p.m. (EST time) on the Contest Closing Date. Entrants who are under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence must have their essays signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Of course, the essay part is still not mentioned in the thread, only what products you could buy to be entered.
