(This question requires no answer, but...) which one of you is 'blue' over there, trying to stir the pot? If this is actually someone from here, which I sincerely hope it is not, let's not turn into SC trolls. We can vent and rant here, but let's not go over there all crazy and start ruining it for the folks who still enjoy themselves. It's getting hard enough to do that without that kind of help. If it makes you feel better, I doubt is someone from here. That thread was quite juvenile, doesn't seem like the SC Refupeas' style.

It doesn't seem like anyone's style here, but I definitely want the annoyance to be directed solely at SC and not its disgruntled refupeas.

What did I miss?? I've been on the boards over there for almost a year and have no recollection of a "blue"...weird. I agree...I don't want people to turn into trolls either. It's one thing to speak up under your own screen name and hold them accountable but not cool to create an alias to troll them.

With regards to the comments about the high view count, I have no doubt this thread is being monitored, they'd be silly if they didn't. goldenblind221 @skellinton did post on the SC boards that she was starting a thread here, but it might be hidden somewhere in those silly reply things, I don't remember. Going back to the high view count, I am guilty of contributing to that. I check in here quite often, daily if not more often, but I just don't know that I can add to anything that has not already been said, so I don't bother posting. Sometimes I am just speechless, like nothing would surprise me anymore & I have no words! I've also been thinking - would they try to have a go at/threaten anyone on here do you think? (This question requires no answer, but...) which one of you is 'blue' over there, trying to stir the pot? Hahaha! They deleted the user!!! I tried to click on the profile and it's gone! What did I miss? What thread are you talking about? I looked under Challenge Central but found nothing interesting... I´m so nosy!

Such a creative group of people. What do you think about Studio Calico??

That thread linked is super old. You gals have to give us a cliff notes version of what happened! I don't see anything amiss there. I also don't think anyone here is afraid to post over at SC under their "real" name, I think we have all proven that time and time again,

How did I miss that too? I am over there several times a day passing time on my iPad when I am feeding the baby. It usually takes them a little while to find stuff to delete- usually at least long enough for the massive pile up behind the train wreck!

There weren't any responses, I'm betting that's why the SC radar missed it for a few hours.

I know on the thread about internationals being left out of the "contest" someone posted "whoa where's this all coming from?" (meaning the drama or actual questioning of SC and the shadiness of the contest. And I tried to respond, politely too I might add, I couldn't because she deleted her message. I don't remember the poster'name but it wasn't blue

I just looked and last call is up...but most of the prices show the original price instead of sale price (until checkout, at least). Man, they just can't get things figured out over there...

It's all that Seven Paper stuff. I'd be pissed if I'd paid full price for those bundles when they're now half off! Guess not many people were interested initially.

Eh, I wouldn't be too angry. That's the risk you take when you buy something right at release at full price. It could, at some point in the future, be marked down. Whether its scrapbooking supplies, shoes, clothes or even food. I've never understood when people get angry about that but maybe it's my retail experience that allows me to see a different perspective. That said, even at half off, I have zero interest in those lines. I don't know why...they've never intrigued me.

Looking back the last few days it´s just amazing! how do they do it? They messed up reveal (like they have done the last months), they sendt out the mail about the new class (Mixed media) AND Alis´ december daily too early, and now they mess up the give away. What´s next? I get kind of exited, and can´t wait to see. Bet it won't take long!

It's so predictable it's hardly worth discussing anymore!

gigi333 you cheeky monkey, you started a thread. And they're still beating around the bush. Course I started a thread im well sick of the blatant prejudice against international susubbers i sub to ali's stamp and kit, 2 messy boxes and the sc pl and sb and they constantly treat me like I sub to nothing, it's so annoying shipping is $3 so really that's only $36 why should all the international subbers be left out of a comp for such a tiny amount If you’ve read any of my posts you know there’s no love lost between me and SC, but sorry, this is not an instance of prejudice. There are legal and monetary reasons for U.S. companies to exclude the international population. Depending on the monetary value of the prize, a U.S. company has to file with the secretary of state and word their contests carefully to comply with all the general and regional rules of the 50 states and 1 federal district, as well as Canada in instances where the contest is open there. The purpose is to avoid lawsuits. There are even U.S. contests that will exclude certain states (Rhode Island, Alaska, Hawaii most of the time) whose laws and even shipping rates may not be favorable to the company. The main reason a U.S. contest is closed to other countries is because each country’s laws that govern contests will have to be researched, added to the contest's legalese and adhered to. This is plainly just too much work (just imagine researching contests laws in 196 countries) and the resulting legal fees to do that would be astronomical and financially imprudent. Also, if done incorrectly, the U.S. company opens itself to a much higher risk of loss and lawsuits that could negate the monetary returns the company was expecting from the contest. I do understand why int’l customers feel they are always getting the short end of the stick. I do read SC’s MB occasionally. I hope this explanation helps relieve some of that sting.

and it further makes me realize they've been running illegal contests for years!

Well I don't care about the laws
Not that I think they should break the law I just think they should only do giveaways or competitions that can be open to all subbers we all pay the same amount for the kits we all pay out every month. If they can't open it to all in my opinion it shouldn't happen. I just feel subscriber perks should be open to all subscribers as we are all in a contract. And it was annoying that that was not announced and Was hidden in the terms and conditions.
It's one thing giving free shipping I understand it's cheaper to ship to Americans however it's not free, the boxes are not free etc, they have deals where the domestics get free shipping and I feel internationals should get even $2 off the cost of shipping, I've no problem paying the difference. Everytime scrapbook.com run similar promotions they have a code for $6 off for internationals.
I just strongly feel all subscribers should Be eligible for something they announce is a subscriber competition
Just to be clear this is not aimed at either of the posters posting explanations, it's just frustrating because it's not about the competition or the shipping it's about equality which I know sounds silly but it's how I feel, I feel like a lot of the time sc makes international subscribers feel like second class citizens. And it's about feeling appreciated as customers as much as the rest of the customers are. I shouldn't have to say hey what about us we are subscribers too. But many times I do.

The explanation for no international entries makes complete sense. Here in Canada, it's not uncommon to see contests that specifically exclude entrants residing in one of our own provinces for the exact reasons that abr79 posted. Seems unfair, but running a everyone's included contest that opens you up to a lawsuit or financial liability is not sound business practice.

Hello, I am new here and I was never active on the SC boards and only started reading the threads there when those ridiculous price change emails came out. I agree that essay was joke, but did anyone see in the "official rules" the part about having to answer "a time-limited mathmatical skill testing question"?? And is that only if you live in Canada? WTF, I honestly can't understand that part, it doesn't make any sense. "THE DRAW A random draw from all eligible entries received will be conducted by a Studio Calico staff member, at its office in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Tuesday, September 6, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m. (E.S.T.) to award the Prize, subject to these contest rules. You do not need to be present at the draw in order to win. The Prize will be awarded to the person named in the first entry drawn, subject to these contest rules, if he/she (i) correctly answers, without human, mechanical, electronic or other assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by Sponsor during a pre-arranged, mutually convenient telephone call only if they are a resident of Canada and (ii) otherwise complies with these contest rules."
