A few pages back I was wondering out loud about Scraptastic. I just got an email from Citrus Twist saying Kaitlin Schaffer, who used to design for Scraptastic, is now with Citrus Twist! Mystery partially solved. Ouch. That's gotta sting.

Mystery partially solved. Ouch. That's gotta sting. I'm so interested in these scraptastic developments because they fell so far so fast. I LOVED the few months I got mid-2015! Maybe her contract was up or maybe she just moved on. Her departure could have been the cause of some of the upheaval or it could have been the result of it. Who knows? But it explains the extreme style shift in the kits!

But it explains the extreme style shift in the kits! They were the 'it club' when SC started to tank. It sounds a bit like maybe she bit off more than she could chew in terms of branching into self produced items and opening the shop on top of it. Overestimating the popularity. Kind of like a restaurant chain that goes and opens as many stores as they can and when the fad of that business dies down from it being the new place to be and their true expected foot traffic (which is much less) hits, they end up having to close restaurants.

Yes, looks like there are a couple alphabet stamps, Lafayette and Charles. Other stamp sets are Fight On and Workday. Main kit is called Day One and I believe it has the outline numbers, solid will probably be an add-on stamp. They are all sneaked on IG, just check out her design teams Insta accounts Thanks. Is there a list of her DT anywhere? I think that Jen, Barbara, Krista, and Julie are on her DT. Any other IG usernames would be appreciated. Although, with a January freeze coming up, the less I see the better for my wallet. Jen Carlson (jecarl) Barbara Pichnic (Babz510) Krista Wells (kl_Wells) Brooke Takara (Welobellie) Kari Stiles (crafty.kari.crafts) Jamie Waters (jamiewaters) Juli Maniago (Julimakesthings)

Is it weird that SC didn't do any after christmas sales? Did they in past years? I think it's weird they were fire-saling kits at $5 earlier in the year but no boxing day deals.

My guess is since she usually does this as $2 Tuesday, she copied the text and updated the date to Dec 30, but missed changing Wed to Fri.

I don't remember if they have in previous years, but people definitely have complained that sales have been cheapening their brand so maybe they're figuring that out.
Also boxing day isn't really a thing in the USA, so it wouldn't be odd to skip it--I actually can't think of any stores that had boxing day sales.

Actually they did, they sent an email Monday for up to 30% off your total purchase good through yesterday. ![]()

I want the puffies to go on sale for $2 again...I'd buy a few more of each. I love them...INCREDIBLY sad she's not making more for the time being.

I only got a new alpha and the grab bag. Seriously, her grab bags are worth it! I debated on "Fight On", but passed in the end, even with the 20% off and "Workday" isn't for me since I'm a SAHM. The main kit stamps are so awesome that I'm not sad about skipping on the other two. Trying to super scale back on spending since we're in super save mode for our trip coming up in 2017. I went nuts at KP's shop this morning! I picked up a few closeout alphas and the fight on stamp, plus the he said she said kit and the grab bag! Haha, bye bye January budget lol I did too and I woke up at noon PST, kinda surprised there was quite a bit left. I was so excited to pick up the Autumn stamp and the Movie stamp sets since I missed those in October. As much as I wanted some more grab bag cards, I don't need them

I might use the $5 code for January if it still going. I like some embellishments and love the look of the 2017 card. Can it be applied to the stamp sub, too? I am already looking at the other 3, might as well consider going all in if it works for that, too.
ETA: maybe no on the stamp sub...I forgot it was that weird floral one.

You can't use the $5 code on the stamp sub YET. I predict that will change by spring, possibly summer, if they continue to do the $5 code each month for the rest of the kits.

Time has slowed down today. I look at the clock expecting that time has advanced at least 30 minutes and its only been 10 minutes. Today after what has felt like an incredibly long period filled with with many tests, unknowns, questions, delays, fear, phone calls, journeys and waiting.... endless waiting but now looking back seems to have passed in a flash, my dad who has long been well and was fit and healthy (or so we thought), is having a triple heart bypass. The operation is expected to take 5 to 6 hours. All being well we are in the last third. The wait is agonizing.
Everything I have tried to do today has not gone well. So I am hoping that all the goodwill is going to him. I am so grateful for this hobby that gave me the push to ask questions and capture his stories.

Sending your Dad all the best thoughts and wishes today. Have faith in the doctors. It is defintely a scary thing to go through, my Dad had a quadruple bypass when I was 21 and it was a huge success, with a change in diet, exercise and commitment to good health he never had to have it re-done, and lived out his life with a healthy heart after that. Back then (20+ years ago they estimated that he would have to have it redone every 10 years) The advances in modern medicine are far and above what they were back then and doctors now are so amazingly trained. Big hugs to you and your family.

I know the wait has to be excruciating. When my FIL had his heart transplant it ended up pushed back several times so it ended up occurring over night, so we didn't have to experience as much of the anxiety. Hope he pulls through with flying colors.

My Dad underwent quintuple (yes, quintuple) bypass surgery unexpectedly about 4 years ago. I was here in KC and he was in Las Vegas, so it was even more horrible being far away. He made a full recovery.
