I've never been a subscriber, but I have made purchases here and there at SC as well as purchased a "class". My first class was my last class as it seemed very little effort was put into it and after a while, participants were reminding SC staff that they hadn't posted the promised content. It didn't seem to be a priority to SC. The recent change to a five minute timer on your shopping cart has ensured that I will never order there again. I see it no different than shopping in a brick and mortar store and being rushed by the owner to get out in five minutes or less. Rude! Absolutely agree about the 5 min timer. I was browsing metal dies a couple of weeks ago and the timer ran down before I'd finished looking at just one page. It felt like a shop-keeper was standing over me tapping their foot saying hurry up! It just seems like every decision made by the company is the opposite of good business practice. Even some of their most loyal, long-time members who are constantly active on the boards have cancelled their subscriptions over the last year or so. I think the writing is on the wall that SC is sinking fast.

You'd think if they were struggling they would try to keep customers not alienate them.

I just want to say thanks to the people who mentioned Paper Issues! I´m international, so shipping costs are a big deal for me, but Paper Issues have a reasonable shipping fee and their product range is GREAT!

Anyone read Aprils newest post Just saw that! I was thinking I'd stick it out for a couple more months, but they make it really hard to want to stay.

I also think it's totally ridiculous for them to expect the topic of shipping to never come up. People aren't supposed to post that they got their kits, or that their kit is coming in x amount of days? Not every mention of shipping is negative, but if people feel like they have to tiptoe around everything, they're going to just stop posting completely.

Anyone read Aprils newest post Just read it. You know, if they provided better customer service and adequate communication regarding polices/changes, they wouldn't have nearly as many upset customers posting on their boards.

I just read it.
People are just going to find other sources, here for example, to vent their frustrations. When I read the updated portions, I did chuckle since they don't want issues such as shipping, damages, etc. being brought up. Well, duh...if they fixed those problems there wouldn't be much of those conversations now would there?
However, on the flip side, I have to be honest and say I can understand a company wanting the negativity off of their site. New people that come across SC, and check out the message boards, would be totally scared away by reading the negativity. BUT, again, if they fixed their sh!t, there wouldn't be as many negative threads.
The SC bad rep is out there already, and in a small scrapping community, word travels fast, whether on their own site or somewhere else.

The more I think about this, the more obnoxious it seems. They don't want any mentions of damaged items. Why? Because they don't handle replacements well (either waiting a long time to send it, sending another damaged piece, or refunding a pitiful amount for a sold out item). If they were a decent company with good customer service, this would not be an issue, because these things would be resolved in a way that makes the customer happy.

If they kept the comments to their own board at least they could do something to try to fix it,
People will read other places and nothing will get fixed

In the long run, addressing the customer service issues would be better for business rather than just telling everyone to STFU.

It's insulting being chastised and told what we can and can't say

I am not sure how I feel about April's post. I do understand that she doesn't want us bashing her product on her message board, BUT I often find it helpful to know when someone gets something damaged. For example the Currently a couple of PL kits ago. That way if I am more than a month behind (which I am usually), I will quickly open up my kit and make sure it wasn't broken and missed in my initial inspection.

Not allowing the posts isn't going to solve their issues; it's just pretending they don't exist anymore. There will still be unhappy customers - they'll just be talking about it somewhere else ... like here! Or worse, they'll just take their business elsewhere.

I love how she comes on there and wants to be all business, but then wants everyone to be her friend and tell her how to get her kid off the bottle.

I do understand that a company will want to protect itself, but this seems so heavy - handed and doesn't actually fix any of the problems. Don't want people complaining? Well, sort your service out then. To say that it is the negativity on the boards that has driven people away is just insulting to those members who are still posting and does nothing to address the fundamental unhappiness with some of their policies.

And my reason for not wanting to be a customer there isn't because of bitching on the message board. It's because they are incompetent about running a business. Charge me for shipping, but they can't get my damn order correct. I was missing things from my card kit this month. Can't get their team members on the same page about when things are going to be rolled out. I was told 8 different things by Rob about shipping.

huh, I don't know if I have ever been missing items in my kit. What scares me is maybe I just didn't notice. I do seem to get skipped over for all the promotional stuff like the pencils and such. Luckily I never want that stuff.

Just saw April's post - she wants to muzzle the negativity, I get it. The boards have been dead otherwise though.
Interesting that Rob is leaving after uprooting his family only 6 months ago. That seems very telling.

" Studio Calico reserves the right to lock or delete any thread that discusses a personal customer service issue or any issue that is of a transactional nature. Comments of a transactional nature include but are not limited to: discussion of shipping, damages, pricing, fees, questions on placed orders, or Studio Calico policies concerning any of the aforementioned"Hahahaha!!! I'm not even angry anymore, this is super amusing!! It's so high school. Wonder if Rob was fired (scapegoat??) or he left because he was fed up with us crazy scrapbooking ladies
