I think that the demographic SC is aiming for is the social-media loving yummy-mummy rather than singles in their 20s—the ones with enough disposable income to buy stationery for their busy social lives, and albums and paper for memory keeping for their families (memory keeping *not* scrapbooking) .You're right. Problem is, most of these self-professed trend setters represent a lifestyle that is not reflective of the majority of scrapbookers. They seem to represent an ideology they've created and perpetuated as the it-thing but wouldn't be seen accepted as such by mainstream audiences. Just my two cents. Please don't ship me off to banned camp. LOL FWIW - banning members over there not only silenced many naysayers. I'm guessing it also was the "last straw" for a lot of fair-minded members who didn't have a dog in this fight. Those boards are deadly silent now. That's what did it for me. It didn't seem the same to me anymore after the banning of members. And that's when I finally realized that my hopefulness was just wishful thinking, and SC would never be what it was again. The silence is powerful. Even the usual amount of DT excitement is notably absent. I'm wondering if they will have another mass exodus from the DT this year.

Nothing in the preview excited me at all today. I liked the LOL kit color scheme, but it's all mostly from the Cedar Lane collection by Pink Paislee. To me the point of a kit is exclusive items or a variety of manufacturers pulled together to coordinate. If it's all just from one collection, I can just go buy that collection. And probably for much cheaper.

Good point. What do their terms say about kit contents? If they change it too crazy people are going to go nuts. SC has no obligation to us at all. I feel that the "heads-I-win, tails-you-lose" nature of the new cancellation policy that debuts in January is the sort of official statement that, even if SC had a completely FLAWLESS record, would elicit discomfort from me. In terms of conveying trustworthiness, it's analogous to your S.O. announcing that he/she feels that he/she deserves to have an open relationship with you while simultaneously demanding you pledge 1000% fidelity to him/her. Even if your partner had zero intention of actually engaging in some sort of tryst, the asymmetry of the terms in and of themselves create an atmosphere of suspicion/resentment.

I missed a lot! I wanted to say that I will use the totes magotes b/c we say it all the time in our house - LOVE the James Earl Jones commercials where he says this! And i will use it way more than another coffee anything (so not a coffee drinker, so count me out of the cool hipster club). Also, why is everyone dissing the tight roll? It was fly! Word to your mother. Now that is a stamp I would use. Whenever I wanted my entire class to be quite I would say, Stop! and they would all respond with Collaborate and Listen. With the appropriate pause between Lis - ten. Anyone from the 80's who happened to walk by or be in my room was delighted to hear it being used by ten year olds.

They kind of look like directions in how to insert a tampon. Either way, they are delightful.

Man...I DID love Vanilla Ice. Still do. Still can rap all the lyrics. But that was 5th grade. After that misguided year of music, I started being myself. Which meant I was either ahead of the times or tragically behind the times (I started dressing gypsy bo-ho in HS long before it was trendy...or long after it was trendy in the 60's/70's...however you want to look at it). But aside from that, I completely agree with you. And I think that's probably why there are so many younger employees lately. To help figure out what's hip these days. No disrespect, but I'm kinda skeptical about trend reports coming straight from Bowling Green, KY. There's enough of a difference between East Coast, West Coast, but you'll see some overlap. Some of the things and phrases SC thinks are popular would never fly in most big cities. Frankly, "totes magotes" would be an automatic conversation killer with me. Even funnier my autocorrect wanted to say "totes maggots" instead. LOL icequeen I live about 45 minutes from Bowling Green, and can confirm, in terms of fashion, we are 2-5 years behind everywhere else, IF the trend even makes it here.

So the new preview here could be, "What is the most inappropriate scrap item you can find? Maybe it should be under the reveal portion. (Frankly I have no idea of the differences for SC.)

Now there is a new post complimenting SC customer service. No replies yet. I am pretty sure I have never felt the need to sing the praises of customer service for simply fixing something they totally f'd up in the first place. But if that is what makes your day, who am I to judge.

I just had to take a look at the scrapbook kit subscription prices after lizacreates mentioned that some might convert to a month-to-month. That kit is $40 choosing that option. I'm sorry but that's a crazy amount of money for what those kits include. If you're going to spend that kind of money, check out some other companies that pack their kits full of product at that price point. Or just shop at scrapbook.com or acherryontop.com and buy what you really want. That's the option I'm taking. Or Blue Moon Scrapbooking. I have shopped there for years. They are so nice. I can actually pick up the phone and talk to Scott if I have a question or a request. And they have free shipping with a $50 minimum order. I highly recommend shopping there.
