I think that the demographic SC is aiming for is the social-media loving yummy-mummy rather than singles in their 20s—the ones with enough disposable income to buy stationery for their busy social lives, and albums and paper for memory keeping for their families (memory keeping *not* scrapbooking). I suspect that SC is probably trying not to ban anyone at the moment unless someone posts something absolutely despicable. Then all bets are off. I doubt they want any more of the backlash they would get if the last two bannings were any indication. And they must know by now that getting banned is considered a huge honor! They wouldn't want to give us the satisfaction. They might not ban me but I am going to keep them busy watching what I post. I got nothing but time.

Dun, dun, dun... another thread bites the dust! Which one now? The one where cabrady(sp?) asked for an overview of chat because she couldn't make it.

Man, step away for a few hours and I missed 3 pages of material, haha! I'd be surprised if they're trying to target a younger age range just because I don't think there's THAT many high school/college age scrappers. Some, yes, but isn't the main scrapping demographic more like 30-60ish? Although SC isn't doing much anymore that makes sense to me, so who knows. Caught my hubby up on all the goings on from yesterday and today. Every time, he just shakes his head and asks, "Is it just idiots running that company?!?" dawnnikol, which thread is gone now? EDIT: Saw your above reply I'm not surprised that was deleted...it went downhill pretty fast!

We should all create our own and post a picture of our neck wearing it. I think I'll use one of those plastic coated green ones to spice it up. Maybe with dental floss for the chain. Because not only do I make time to scrap (and make cards) I'm a pretty good crafter. Who's in with me? Im in! Though I will use a coral colored paperclip in the shape of an arrow that SC sent with one of their kits. I wanna be different!

I think if I could afford the $300 paperclip, my planner would just say...
10am slowly wake up 11am yoga 12pm massage 1pm pedicure 2-5p scrap/create 6p hug nanny for taking care of kids all day 7p enjoy leisurely dinner out with hubby 8p listen to new serial podcast 9pm watch Game of Thrones rerun 10pm go to sleep

Problem is, most of these self-professed trend setters represent a lifestyle that is not reflective of the majority of scrapbookers. They seem to represent an ideology they've created and perpetuated as the it-thing but wouldn't be seen accepted as such by mainstream audiences. Just my two cents. Please don't ship me off to banned camp. LOL FWIW - banning members over there not only silenced many naysayers. I'm guessing it also was the "last straw" for a lot of fair-minded members who didn't have a dog in this fight. Those boards are deadly silent now.

EDIT: Saw your above reply I'm not surprised that was deleted...it went downhill pretty fast! Exactly...I don't think they are necessarily targeting their scrapbook supplies to the younger age group. But I think that's why they are they are changing things. Planner kits? College kids love them and are totally into decorating them...it's an inexpensive (albeit kinds silly IMO) way to be crafty without getting into the "scrapbooker" stereotype. And the stationery kit? Totally geared to young people/non crafters. My nieces spend all kinds of money on this kind of stuff - heck, I spent all kinds of money on this kind of stuff when I was in my early-20's. I've said it from the beginning but I see the SB and the PL kit changing drastically come January.

If speculations are right and the new partnerships include journals, notebooks, and recipe kits/albums for kids, it'll be right up the alley of kids and tweens who's parents still bankroll their interests and activities and college kids with money to burn.
I'm actually thinking the SB and PL kits won't change drastically until Feb. We can opt out late Dec. if the Jan. kit isn't to our liking. It's also the last chance to convince (some of) us to recommit for 6 or 12 months. Now, February's preview will be aimed at people who are locked in with a steep cancellation policy.

Any paper clip necklace reminds me too much of having a note pinned to your coat so you don't forget to tell your teacher that you need to be excused from class early because you have a doctor's appointment... #werenothappyuntilyourenothappy

looking at the "SC" stamp set..it seems pretty clear there will soon be no rewards, calico points, wouldn't you say? quite certain those words, phrases would have been included in the set...

What do their terms say about kit contents? If they change it too crazy people are going to go nuts. Well, they can basically do what they want. The TOU says "Studio Calico may make changes to any products or services offered on the Site, or to the applicable prices for any such products or services, including any applicable shipping and handling, at any time, without notice. The materials on the Site with respect to products and services may be out of date, and Studio Calico makes no commitment to update the materials on the Site with respect to such products and services."
That's why I object to signing up for 12 months with a steep cancellation policy.

Hi! I'm new here and I've been reading the studio calico thread quite a lot here lately as I have been frustrated with the direction they have been going..
So, my question is did anyone's duplicate package get picked up yet? They made two attempts which I was not home, I knew I would be home today so I left it outside.
Anyways this is from Friday & Monday - Exception Reason: THE PACKAGE WAS NOT READY AT THE TIME OF THE SECOND PICKUP ATTEMPT. A FINAL ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE.
Exception Resolution: PICKUP IS SCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY. Then I also got this last night - 09/21/2015 7:36 P.M. The receiver states the product was not ordered and has refused the delivery. / The package will be returned to the sender.
They never came by today? I don't want to pay for these (I would dispute it) but still. Should I just leave it outside for a few more days? Thanks!

If they charge you, dispute it with your credit card company and call it a day. SC doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Damn. Damn damn. I missed ALL the good drama from today.
Okay, so I was able to make chat this morning (for the second time ever, and I remember now why I hated it so bad after the first) and there was almost NO ONE I recognized, except for almost every single SC worker bee. I can't imagine why they're soooo backed up in conversations.
I'm glad they're reducing their kit offerings so that I won't want to buy them.
I stepped away from writing this post for like an hour and forgot the rest of what I was planning to say.

I missed a lot! I wanted to say that I will use the totes magotes b/c we say it all the time in our house - LOVE the James Earl Jones commercials where he says this! And i will use it way more than another coffee anything (so not a coffee drinker, so count me out of the cool hipster club). Also, why is everyone dissing the tight roll? It was fly! Word to your mother.
