I'm in desperate need of an over-the-counter medication that you can only get in the UK. It is completely legal to send it here (I've checked), but none of the online pharmacies stock it anymore. If you'd be willing to send me some you would have my undying gratitude. I would send you payment of course; can PayPal you funds immediately if you have PayPal. Please send me a PM if you can help me out.
Thank you.

Can you tell us which medication it is? I'm wondering why pharmacies here no longer keep it in stock.

It's called Diocalm. It contains attapulgite and morphine. There used to be kaolin and morphine tablets; the brand was Collis Browne. They were discontinued because some asses used to get the morphine out of it (ridiculous, since it was such a tiny amount; the morphine calms the intestinal cramping). The Diocalm tabs were still available recently, but I've been looking online and it seems that they may no longer be produced. If someone could confirm that for me it would be helpful. I did find a product that might help me a bit, and I just ordered it on Amazon UK. I want to order liquid Kaolin too, but I can't have it delivered to the US (that's just because it's liquid, I believe).
It's frustrating. I use these meds for when my nausea is at its absolute worst. I suck on one of the tablets and it helps just the tiniest bit more than anything else. This is when I'm already using multiple prescriptions and the nausea is still out of control. Right now I'm having particularly bad and frequent episodes. Nausea is so hard to live with. I know some people suck on ginger, but I can't. Haven't found anything else that works.

Is it called Lomotil here? I am googling as I type this...
Yes, it is called Lomotil. I had it once (my boss gave me one when I had the flu). It is kick ass stuff. It is by Rx here, though. It is in the Imodium family but way better. There is a tiny bit of morphine in it and it just calms nausea right down NOW. (Less than 3 min I would say based on my one time experience.)

I've checked online pharmacies and it looks like the Diocalm and Collis Browne's are prescription only. There is a Diocalm Ultra available over the counter but it's a different formulation. Sorry to not be able to help.

I can't find it available locally - and even our online pharmacies which ship internationally have Diocalm listed as out of stock and give alternatives. The only one available is Diocalm Ultra and as pmk says, it's a different formulation. Sorry zella. ETA: Have just been told that the original Diocalm was amongst various products affected by change of company ownership a couple of years ago which caused licensing problems. It is taking time for them to sort it out and get the medications back on the shelves.

I didn't think you could get liquid kaolin in the UK any more because of the morphine content. I thought it was taken off the market years ago.

You can still get the liquid one but lots of pharmacies won't stock it or will have it but try to avoid selling it! There's so many newer medicines that they'll tend to be suspicious of anyone wanting it.

My mother used to give it to me but it's been that long since I saw it, I've forgotten what it was for!

Hi ladies. Thanks for the feedback. So it sounds as though the Diocalm might be available again in the future? That would be good.
I've only known Lomotil as a serious anti-diarrheal, but I'm sure my Dr would let me give it a try and see if it would help with the nausea.
gillyp, I found the liquid kaolin, but can't get it shipped to the US. What we used to have was kaolin and morphine; you might remember that it used to settle into the white, chalky liquid and the brown, morphine-containing liquid. They took out the morphine, so that only the kaolin part is left. I'm going to see how these tablets I found work first. The liquid is actually very hard to take when trying not to throw up, but I can suck on a tablet. Make sense? Yep, mum used to keep it on hand for when the family got a stomach virus, and it was very helpful.
Dioclam Ultra is loperamide, which is available over the counter here, and works well for diarrhea but does little for the nausea.

Do you have a local compounding pharmacy? Maybe they could help with that.

How can it be legal to send here? Morphine is a schedule II controlled substance.

Is the nausea a side effect from other medications you take? Is this a chronic problem for you? If so, I'm so sorry! Any kind of pain meds (Percocet or even just Tylenol) tend to make me feel sick but I suck on peppermint and it helps. Fortunately, I've never had to take pain meds for longer than a week or so following surgery.

Ask your doctor if a nausea med can be sent from Canada. Not sure about morphine, but there may be others. Several years ago, my dad's Parkinson's doctor helped us get a very good anti nausea med from Canada. I don't remember the name, however. He wrote a script and gave me a phone number. I called and followed their directions for submitting the script and paying for it.
