I feel like trying some new recipes. What are your favorite Pioneer Woman recipes?

I was just looking at that one and thought it looked good. Glad to hear that my instincts were right. Thanks for the input!

I'm not a fan of most of her recipes, but her smashed baked potatoes were a big hit here

I make her pantry pasta and apple dumplings every few months. I have made her spicy Dr. Pepper pulled pork, DH and his friends like it. I don't like spice at all and a lot of her recipes are spicy. I have made her cinnamon rolls a bunch in the past but don't like them anymore. I need to find a good cinnamon roll recipe.

I made the Marlboro man sandwiches for dinner tonight. They are DH's favorite. Has anyone made her grilled chicken alfredo?

Penne a la Betsy. My dh is super picky though so I make it with chicken instead of shrimp and add mushrooms and a bit of parmesan cheese to the sauce. It's one of our top five dinner recipes here.

Chicken spaghetti, stuffed mushrooms, country fried steaks, restaurant style salsa come to mind. I like her pot roast, I do mine very similar but add cream soups and Italian seasoning/dressing instead of just stock for the cooking to make a nice gravy.

We like her Dr Pepper pork sandwhiches, beef with peppers, Cajun chicken pasta, and meatballs. I do alter some of her recipes to if the call for a lot of fat. Not living on a working farm, and all......

We love her restaurant style salsa. Very easy to make and one batch makes a lot.

Love her chicken spaghetti, crash hot potatoes (they're legendary in our neighborhood now), and sour cream noodle bake. I'm sure there are more, but those are my faves!

I have made her cinnamon rolls a bunch in the past but don't like them anymore. I need to find a good cinnamon roll recipe. Just add or leave out the red pepper flakes and/or hot sauce. I usually just add a pinch and get the flavor without the heat. I great up in Minnesota--where ketchup is a little spicy, ya know. I make quite a few of her recipes. I just bought the ingredients for Panzanella today. And her Ranch chicken is on the table for Saturday's meal. Her Spicy Pulled Pork is really good with about 1/3 of the can of chipotle peppers. (I just half the remainder and freeze it in snack sized zip lock bags for another meal.) Beef with Snow Peas is one of my favorites, but I add matchstick carrots as well. Her Lemon Bar recipe is great, as are her au gratin potatoes. And steak bites--yum!

I never got the hubbub over her cinnamon rolls. But I could wax poetic about her Texas Sheet cake (even though I'm certain it isn't original to her at all). There was a lasagna that wasn't too bad and her meatsauce for Frito Chili Pies will flat melt your eyebrows off but DH likes it.
I hear people rave about her Crash potatoes and Chicken Spaghetti here frequently but have never tried them.

We loved the herbed potatoes and the green bean casserole. They are our "holiday" side dishes. Yum!

spicy pulled pork and the meaty spaghetti sauce are two of my favorites. I also made her white chocolate vanilla pudding with the oreo cookie crust and that was yummy. I like trying her recipes they have all been pretty good.

Crash potatoes and her corn chowder. I know I have tried others but those stand out as keepers.

Her olive bread. It's not a dinner dish, but I make it occasionally for dd and myself and add a green salad.

Majority of them are things I've eaten my entire Oklahoma life. My mom was making the chicken spaghetti back in the late 1960s (it was one of our favorite camping meals!) I'm confident Ree plunders some old cookbooks on a regular basis for "her" recipes.

But so many of those recipes people would never have been exposed to if it weren't for her. Not everyone loves old church and community cookbooks or has a long tradition of great family cooks or recipes passed down. I would never have tried a recipe named Texas Sheet cake if I just came across it in a book. But seeing it on her blog made me realize that it was exactly like my favorite childhood cake from the restaurant that my grandparents always took me to! However I may feel about her shtick or that she has misnamed herself, I'll always be grateful for finding that recipe. And if the recipes you grew up with are that good, maybe you should share? It would be a public service.

It would be a public service. My mom is the family cook. I didn't inherit her skills or the interest in cooking. So I don't have the recipes. I just recognize so many of them in the PW's blog. She is the resource I use when it is too late to call mom but I need a recipe for tomorrow's luncheon.
