I think that's definitely an interesting article. Especially the fact that vendors were not extending them credit anymore and they let their registrations expire months ago. Really sheds a light on things and makes the swift decision to shut things down seem shady.

I think the freezing of the message boards was for one or both of these reasons...
1) The sheer volume of posts alone would have shut the site down. They knew that would happen and chose to leave the content there for a few days for us to somehow grab so I'm thankful for that.
2) Despite their pleadings, everyone said, "Hey - shop over here, talk over here, etc." for years and they knew the board would be filled with "Let's go over here now and be together." and they are human. I think that would be hard to see.
I sympathize with them. I'm not mad at Jeff and Kristina. I feel sorry that they are losing a business they worked hard at. Yes, they probably made some bad choices and offended some people but I am super thankful we had the boards for as long as we did without a cost. I know I personally didn't support them with my shopping like I could have. That's on me.

I feel like I can sympathize with them and still think it was a crap move on their part. They knew that for how many years, women on those boards shared laughs, advice, tears, and friendships. They had no problem leaving the store open so we could give them our money but the message boards had to go RIGHT AWAY.
Guess what- the site is closing...you had some bad customer service and business practices sometimes. Oh well, it is what it is. They still could have left the boards up at least a day so people could have some closure. My first thought when I got the email was of BethAnne and not seeing the updates on her. That board provided support, family, and unity so regardless the justifications they want to come up with in their heads, they did NOT have to end things that way.

But don't you think the traffic would have shut the site down? It would be like the Oscar selfie that broke Twitter! LOL

But don't you think the traffic would have shut the site down? It would be like the Oscar selfie that broke Twitter! LOL It may have...but did you try to go on yesterday? It was already going haywire with peas just trying to get on the site and figure out what the hell was going on. Giving people some sort of time, any sort of time would have been the right thing to do. I truly think they did not want to have crap spewed their way. So they took the cowards way out and gave us the finger in the process. But I guarantee you that had they done the decent thing, they would have had 5 threads expressing sympathy and love to every 1 thread spewing hate.

Well it would be hard to know what they're thinking and feeling in this situation. They were part of my life for 13 years and I feel like I know them, although I don't so I just try to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they had multiple reasons. It was easier for them the way it went down for sure.

I guess I feel like I owe them gratitude for giving me a place that changed my life because in actuality, they got very little from me in return along the way. Two Peas was a life-changer for me. It made my life happier. For every one person that supported them with their business, there were probably 100 people just hangin' out, enjoying a free site and complaining about it quite often, truthfully. I rarely ordered from them because I worked at four stores where I got stuff free or at wholesale. Now I really wish I had given them more money in return for the happiness they gave me.

I'm no expert, but in my opinion, I don't think they gave anyone enough warning. I think I'm mostly upset, as I don't have a lot of time, and JUST purchased Art Class 1, in March or April, for my birthday. Thank God I figured out how to download it, or my money would've been wasted. It just didn't seem very loyal to just shut down the site. However, after Club CK shut down, my trust has declined significantly in the forums. Maybe that's why I didn't create a strong bond in and with 2Peas. I'm going to miss the challenges and inspiration from the designers and ladies, a like. I loved the challenges, but I hope to stay in touch with a lot of people.

Tracie, I agree with you, I am grateful we had two peas. I remember how fun and exciting the boards were and how a box from two peas was anticipated. I will miss both the forums and the store.

Well if you just purchased a class, that is obviously reason to be mad if you couldn't get it. I can understand that. Of course! I really always wanted Nancy Damiano's Vacation Scrapbooking class and never got it now I'm bummed I won't ever!

You can also search online for ways to download the videos. There are tons of extensions for the various browsers. I downloaded my videos. I paid for my classes and months ago I felt like I should save them for my own personal use.
I was able to download the videos very easily, but my way doesn't work for everyone. I hear there is an extension for Google Chrome that is very easy to use.

There is a way in Firefox to download an app and get your video content. I was able to save my HHGTTG videos from Shimelle. They are safely now on my computer and my Nook tablet. I think the lack of warning is what is rubbing everyone wrong. Yes, we have until July 10 but there is so much more that would have been nice. I had saved all of my bookmarks, my LOs in the gallery and my different badges a couple of months ago. BUT some who might have wanted this, now have to scramble and try to figure it out. I always thought all of the Peas were so helpful to each other. They could have helped in this final stage also.

I think they had the right to close down the way they thought was best BUT I felt that Jackie was much classier and professional when Lifetime Moments closed their doors -we had warning and the opportunity to say goodbye and exchange contact information.

I loved 2 peas and found so many great layouts in their gallery. I have 3,345 bookmarked and am slowly going through to pin my favorites to pinterest. If too much traffic would have shut it down, I am glad to have the opportunity to save my bookmarks first. It would have been nice if they could have opened the message boards for a couple days after everyone has had an opportunity to save their bookmarks. Just so people can find a way to keep in touch. Or they could have warned us it was coming so we had time to make contacts with others.
I do appreciate that the site existed! I have learned so much here and will always be grateful for 2 peas! I bought my supplies from them and don't know where to buy from now.

I completely agree with this Tracie. Still sad the way it ended though! I'm so glad someone set up this site because I don't know what I would have done without my online "friends"! It's always a place I could go for advice on recipes, etc.

I am grateful for 2Peas, too. Without 2Peas I have had the chance to meet so many scrappy people and make so many new friends. I checked 2Peas boards 1st thing in the morning and through out the day for so many years. Learned so much, about everything including stuff I did not need to know! I will miss it but I will move on.
No hard feelings here; I'm grateful for the experience.

I was grateful that 2peas was around too. no one else in my real life scrapbooks or papercrafts. 2peas gave me a place to chat with other people with the same interest. I learned a lot of things along the way that inspired me to keep crafting and even to sell my stuff online. I know I will continue to learn stuff and I will find another crafting "home" (here) but 2peas will always be the beginning source for my SB inspiration and knowledge. the way they abruptly closed was a big disappointment.

I was a loyal customer, not just a board user. For 12 years. It truly sucks but I've had a feeling Jeffrey and Kristina were over it a long long time ago.
I have the vacation class if you want it tracie.

I've been following directions to download, but have been so far, unsucessful.

I don't do pinterest, so I don't know the answer to this question, and am basing it on something I saw on splitcoast earlier: are those pins going to work once the host site (2peas) is turned off?

I think giving us 24 to 48 hours to just read some kind of sticky saying where people are going would have been kind. At least let someone have the chance to create something else and post it and then lock the message boards so we know we can catch up with each other if we want. I surprised myself by how I worried that people would not know where to meet up.
