I've been looking at the new releases coming this fall, and I'm so disappointed in the lack of boy/masculine lines. I know this time of year brings us the peeks of upcoming Christmas, Fall and Halloweeen lines, but the non-themed lines have been so feminine and/or have pink in them. Pink is fine in small doses, but it seems like it's in EVERYTHING! Have you noticed this trend? Us poor boy mamas who like to buy paper (don't you feel so sorry for me? Lol!) Have you seen any boy lines I'm missing that are being released this CHA/whatever summer release is now called? Let's start a list... or maybe a petition! Ha.

I just bought the OA Treasure Map line and the Bob Bunny Space line because I couldn't find any new boy lines either. I have been buying lots of shapes through Silhouette too. Very frustrating.

Yup, that SO Rad line is new as of 1-2 months ago and I have some! It's a good one I'm hoping winter CHA brings some good boy lines. I can usually count on Echo Park and Simple Stories. I'd love to see Pebbles or another AC brand do one too. Amy Tan even has a boy now!!! And her new line has pink. I will say her line is more versatile than some of the others I've seen though. There are patterns that are nice and strong for dudes, even with a bit of pink. They don't all look girlie. Here it is if you want to see: americancrafts.typepad.com/studio/2015/07/new-from-amy-tangerine-finders-keepers.htmlSeveral of those papers I can use. And I like a lot of the embellishments. Those heart enamel dots are too cute!

That SS So Rad line is cute! You're right, there isn't anything else that's new. I've picked up some older stuff lately - Boys Rule, Hey Boy. Route 66 at TM, and Authentique Adventure at the Scrapbook Expo. Between that and all of the Boy Scout paper I hoarded, I have way more than I need (as usual) especially considering DS is a college senior LOL! I do have a quite a few missing years to go back fill in with his albums.
Oh, and OA Treasure Map! I have that one too. Super cute! I wonder if I could convince my 6'2" son to play with his little pirates so I can take his picture. Surely I could find a few leftover Lego pirates around here...

This is a constant struggle for us boy moms! I am also not a fan of pink - even for myself - so I am kind of tired of it. Anyways - back to your question- pretty little studio has a new line called treasure island. It is very cute and more "boyish"...

Yes; I also noticed & am disappointed in the lack of masculine collections. The only line I noted that could easily be used for boys is Doodlebug Designs - sports collection. The small, repetitive icons & versatile patterns on some of the reverse sides remind me of Bella Blvd - Making the Team from a couple years ago. Hoping masculine lines will be unveiled at the show!

Ha, how many times have we said that?? Not to be a downer but I've been thinking of Heidi and how her sons inspired attention to boys in this hobby.
Thanks for links to other lines- I'd missed them!

Maybe just put an eye patch on him while he is sleeping.

It is worse if you scrap boys who aren't interested in sports. I am always looking for a masculine paper line that isn't themey. Scrapbooking adult men is problematic, too.
My favorite ones from way in the past were Basic Grey's Oxford and American Crafts' Chap. I hoard them.
Fancy Pants has a boy line that isn't too bad. It has monsters but the non-theme papers are nice.

Does it have to be literally boyish, with pictures? I like Basic Grey Barista that came out recently. Studio Calico's Seven Paper line is doing a back to school collection called Darcy that has lots of bright colours rather than pastels. I wonder if Shimelle will be releasing a new collection with American Crafts? The True Stories collection has lots of not-pink in it.

It's lovely, but a little grown-up, so I will save it for his teen years, likely. I will order some Finders Keepers when it comes out, that looks great.

Any Echo Park line that isn't pink, ends up coming home with me. They have lots of fun bright colors. Every layout I seem to do has my boys in it, so I do "boy" layouts exclusively. This year we took the girlfriend to Jamaica with us and I made her a fifty page scrapbook for graduation. Not a single gilrie page in it. She isn't fond of pink. That is okay. neither am I.

Hi boy mamas! I got inspired by you ladies and some of the peas cleaning up and de-stashing their scrap spaces. I've gone thru some things and pulled what's appropriate for young boys (infants thru elementary school age). These 60 plus papers are all from older lines. Some are bright and some have a vintage feel. I've also got some coordinating card stock shapes, stickers, ribbon, chipboard shapes and journaling cards. I'd love for someone to put this stuff to good use. I will part with this for free as long as those of you who are interested go thru the box, pull what you will use within the next 3 months, and send the box onto the next boy mom, maybe adding some boy theme items that you are no longer using.
I think it makes sense to start with those moms on this thread, since you guys gave me the motivation to clear some stuff out. So what do you think? Anyone game to send me their mailing address to get this started?

The new CTMH catalog has a really nice boy/masculine line called Urban. It will be available to order in Sept. I got my catalog from my consultant early and can not find any images online but look for it next month i guess. I think it will be great for teens and the men in my life as well.

I loved AC's Chap as well. I still have bits and pieces, but it's mostly gone. That's why I'd love to see them or Pebbles or another AC brand do some more, because they tend to put out a lot of embellishment options with their lines and I love the choices! Nope, it doesn't literally have to be boyish! I like the Barista line. It's not typically a color scheme I'm drawn to but it's a great masculine option for sure! Thanks for the Bella Blvd line option - I had not seen that one! I too am hoping to see another guy line from Heidi Swapp, maybe inspired by all things Cory. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love Heidi and I could see working on it to be therapeutic for her, if it's not too hard (or too soon). She did a great one a few years ago that sold well. Even a lot of the Christmas lines I'm seeing have pink in them. Ugh!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!

I don't like how many of them have blue/green/brown/orange color schemes. I'm so sick of those colors together!

I am right there with you. I have a newly turned 3 y/o DS and find that I am already having a hard time finding boy paper. My 7 y/o DD is just now getting "girly girly" on me so that part is easier even though I am not girly girly lol!
I love the idea of sending a boy box around! Who wants to start?

I'm an odd boy mama...I use pink quite often in my PL and LO's. I just don't care! I scrap with papers and make pages that make me happy. I don't like floofy, doily, floral, Victorian pinks and such but I have no issue using papers and cards that have pink in them. I own the DL Fine and Dandy core kit and adore it. I've found that I have a hard time working with lines that are darker and masculine and I absolutely can NOT work with themey boy paper. Amy Tan's new line is pretty neutral, IMO. Yes there is some pink but there are also some nice blues and greens, if I recall correctly. And Echo Park has a cool themey boy line (pirates, I think). I think it was Echo Park. Other than that, I can't really remember too much. When I look at paper lines, I don't consider gender...I just decide if I like the style - if it makes me want to play. Now, if you personally don't like pink, that's a different story.

abr79 I do as well. I love using clear pink, coral, and soft grey and teal with my boy stuff. Then again my boy isn't the 'rough and tumble moustaches and everything on fire in the woods wrasslin' a grizzly' type, he's more into science and math and astronomy, so I look for more general items along those themes, and classic neutrals. Lots of geometric things. But I use pink with him, why not?

I like pink ok, but it's not my favorite to work with. And I personally don't like pink for his pages. He wears more primary colors and my photos just don't look good with it. I can use it, and have, but it's overkill in everything right now! Really hard to get away from. I'd LOVE for some non-theme paper to be pink-less. It doesn't have to be masculine necessarily. But a lot of Christmas lines are even pinky this year. The new Simple Stories family line is pink. These are lines that don't need to be pink, kwim? It limits me as someone who's not the biggest fan of the color.
I do love the Amy Tan line I posted earlier and will be buying bits of it. Now THAT is a line I will use since the colors are stronger and there are a lot of patterns that are not "girly".

Oooh, I'm glad this thread popped up again, I've only just discovered the Fancy Pants Making Waves collection which could be good for boys. I don't know why I am kind of obsessed with boy lines now - I don't even have children, let alone boys to scrap!

And there's this one...because boys like cars, obvs. Echo Park Off Road
This is a new line from Pink Paislee, it has some feminine touches but there are lots of bits in there that could work for boy pages Memorandum. I also like their Cedar Lane line, even though I'm in the UK and we don't do thanksgiving as such. I love dark woodgrain.

Does anyone know any process videos by people who do boy pages? I love watching videos but a lot of them are people who are heavy into aqua and pink. I don't like themey very much but I'd like to see people do more with navys and reds, for example.
