My scrapping mojo is back, yay! But my living room is a mess. I live in a small apartment and scrap in the front room. I usually take several days to complete a page or a card and I need a way to store the project while I work in it. I need my tiny desk and kitchen to table to stay clean so that I can work and eat. Right now my couch is where the project is and the clutter is driving me insane.
How do you store your incomplete projects?

Iris boxes and those cropper hopper holders (essentially plastic magazine style holders) -- sometimes several of each!

I stack them up in one of my Michael's Jetmax cubes... and on my desk.

With the cropper hopper holders, I use both the smaller envelopes as well as stacking cardstock inside. If I'm careful, it doesn't get bent --- but I really don't worry about a small amount of "bent" -- I put everything in a page protector ... or cut it ... so I've never noticed that it matters much what the corners look like.

Iris boxes are perfect for that. There's also a little tray you can get that fits in the box to hold embellishments, photos, tools, etc.

I was going to suggest Iris boxes, too. But even there I have to be careful - you know, out of sight, out of mind.

I keep everything together in an Iris box. Place papers on the bottom and any embellishments and supplies can go on top.

I have shelf space, and haven't done this yet - but I was thinking of having 1 or 2 trays to put my projects away on shelves to keep my table clean in between scrap times. I have a scrap room though, this may not work for your space.

I have a Michael's rolling cart that holds seven Artbin containers that hold 1-5 projects that are held in Michaels expandable folders. I need to type less and scrap more.

I have a wire rack that sets on top of a bookshelf (similar concept to the jetmax cube). My wet or unfinished projects go there (if they aren't on my desk).

Depends on how much stuff there is... If I'm getting to work on it daily I'll use a 12x12 paper tray. If there's a lot of stuff that I need to move to another room I'll use an iris box.

I was going to suggest Iris boxes, too. But even there I have to be careful - you know, out of sight, out of mind. This was my original problem with Iris boxes. Maybe I should try again though.

I bought a rolling bakery pan rack that fits in a corner of my studio. It has space for up to ten 18"x26" trays, but I haven't purchased those yet. My plan is to leave everything for the project on the tray and slide it into the rack where it will be all together and out of the way until I want to work on it again. I bought this one with a solid top so I could use the top for a work surface too. Here's a link: Food Service Warehouse

You posted about these before. I so want one!!!!! I just don't have the room right now. It's nice because it doesn't take up much more floor space than an Iris bin cart, and I planned my room to accommodate one. I need to get the trays pretty quick because I'm planning on having a few friends over to scrap in a couple weeks--eeek! I figured if I put it on the calendar I'll have to get the mess on my work tables cleaned up before people can come over, which means I'd better have a place to put the stuff I've had laying around for the last six months...

I keep plastic scrap bins filled with whatever I am working on and all of the supplies that go with it. Some projects have more than one bin.

Iris boxes if it's something with a lot of different pieces / parts, or large Ziploc bags that are in a project carrier with a handle. I can fit a page kit into a large zipper bag that holds the papers, my photos, any sketches, embellishments, etc. and keeps it all together. My biggest thing is now making sure I writing note for myself for when I go back to the project later- I started adding a lot of post-it notes to the layouts and it's helped me immensely. (notes like: 'add embellishments to this area' with an arrow drawn on a pencil sketch of the layout, or 'cut title using Cameo' or 'use this paper for accents') ^^^ because I can go for months in between working on something, and invariably I never have the sketch, Pinterest page, magazine photo, etc. with my layout after that amount of time and my memory has gone to heck! eta: I would LOVE to have one of those bakery racks somewhere in my room... but maybe that's just more temptation to not actually FINISH anything?? lol!! (but they're so pretty!!) ...and more temptation for my cats... eta (2): this is the project box I have; I think I got it at J's or M's when SB storage was on sale.

I have these and use them for when I'm using a kit and need to move out of my craft room with it. I find them too bulky (and expensive) to have more than one.

chances I use the same system I have for storing my kits. I use a Jetmax cube with shelves. I found that the boxes the the BH PL page protectors come in fit in the shelves perfect. So they slide in and out like drawers. I put my kit and the project I'm working on in the box and then slide it in the shelf. It's a new system for me but it's working out great.
