I could but would have to have a seperate one for all my craft stuff and then another one for my dogs and another one for my cats and that's assuming my three boys (2 that are technically adults) have moved out.

Absolutely!!
I saw a really great design once where they raised the floor in the living room space and the bed pulled out from underneath. No sleeping loft! And it fit a king sized mattress. It was way cool.

I lived in a 200 sq ft studio in Boston for almost a year. I loved it because i could just fall asleep watching TV in bed instead of on the couch. However i had stored mossy of my stuff at my parents house. Since I've lived in California I've give from 1100 sq ft to 2000 sq ft, but there are 4 of us now. I've basically had to stop buying stuff since is filled up most of the storage space. I kind of want to do a purge so i can get new stuff. That seems wrong somehow though. Since I'm a goldfish and expand to fill my surroundings i don't think i could live in a tiny houser unless it had a 2000 sq ft storage shed , haha!

1. If I lived by myself. 2. If it had a real shower, toilet, and bathroom sink. No sponge bath or compostable toilet for me, thanks. 3. If it had an apartment-sized stove, sink, and fridge. I wouldn't want to live with a dorm fridge or a hot plate the rest of my life. 3. If it were safe/secure. I don't like the idea of being in an isolated area with just a piece of plywood between me and a human or animal intruder.
We live in a 4 bedroom house with bonus room and inlaw/nanny suite, which we won't need in a few years. My idea of a tiny house is a 3-bedroom condo.

My DS is 6'6.5 and 250 lbs. I don't think it would work for us. We spend 20-30 days a year in hotel rooms together. That's enough closeness. I'm in the same boat. My husband mentioned an around the world cruise for a year when we retire. I love the idea, but don't think I could share a tiny room on a cruise ship for a year.

I could if either I was in an urban environment where I could walk everywhere, walking distance to the beach or on a beautiful piece of land. I think the outside environment is a lot more important than the inside. This. I could see myself in a tiny cottage surrounded by nature. And I love the idea of decluttering and only keeping the things you love. My fathers appartment is about 430 sq.f with 3 bedrooms. You could easily live there as a family. The rooms are small, but the layout is well designed.

I would struggle. I wouldn't live in a small home if I had a choice.

Nope. I have zero desire to live in a shed. I like my space to have the ability to breathe. I can deal with a trailer when I go camping, but for entertaining or for real life? No freakin' way. To be honest, I don't really understand people who want to live that way. Zero debt. Very low taxes. Very low utilities. I guess. But definitely not enough of a trade off from having a real house. Camping is fun for the short term, but for long term living? Space is way more important.

In most of the tiny houses I've seen you sleep in a loft. There's no way I could climb a ladder up to a loft every night Climbing up would be tough enough. Climbing down while semi-asleep to go to the bathroom twice a night would do me in.

We have a beach house that is under 500 sq feet. Two tiny bedrooms, an L-shaped kitchen/dining/living room, a bathroom and a stacked washer dryer in the utility closet. I am quite happy when I am there, but I am never there for more than a week at a time.

No way. DH is 6'5 and 275 lbs. I am 5'10 and heavier than I'd like to admit. We would not do well in those 200 sq ft houses. Our split-level home is 2400 square feet though and we both admit it is more space than we need. Sure it's comfortable, but in the winter when he's over the road I can go a whole week without going downstairs. We could do about 800 sq feet comfortably.
ETA: I also require normal plumbing...no compostable toilet, thank you very much. And, I would like it to be on land so that I can enjoy the outdoors. The house wouldn't feel quite so small if you have a nice outdoor space to enjoy. Although, I live in WI, so winter's would be tough!

My house is small - not quite 1,100 s/f and I'm fine with that. I suppose I could live in a tiny house if I had to, but it's not something I would choose to do.

Absolutely and without a doubt I could. We are moving in 2 1/2 years and it will just be the two of us. We are actively researching tiny homes and I'm finding it more and more to my liking. My two requirements are a loft and an porch. We are also actively researching teardrop campers to buy, so I'm seeing a pattern here

I'd do it on a temporary basis. Like pick it up and plop it on a beach somewhere. That would be the perfect vacation home for us. Or an RV. That's been a big dream as well.
But I don't think I could do it permanently. DH is also tall, 6'4", he's get cramped real fast.

My dream is to retire on a beach in the Caribbean somewhere in a tiny house with a hammock and a garden. However, that said, I want some space to move around! I don't want anything huge and I only want 1 bedroom (method to that madness lol)and a kitchen/living area. I won't need anything bigger and visitors can stay at a nearby hotel.
This is my life goal.

I could do a tiny apartment, if it meant I could live in NYC. I lived in tiny apartments in NYC. I didn't mind--I was rarely home anyway, and it was worth it. I couldn't live in a tiny space with kids.

I could do it. Right now a tiny house, by myself, in the middle of nowhere would be heaven.

I think the outside environment is a lot more important than the inside. During the winter, and Ohio, the inside environment becomes very important! And we have mild winters. I can't imagine being in a tiny house and stay to get tons and tons of snow when people are locked inside.

If it had a bathroom with a regular sized shower, toilet, and sink; a usable kitchen (doesn't have to be big but must have a fridge, oven/stove, and sink); and the bedroom was tall enough to stand in, i would be ok. It would be much easier if i lived alone, though.

I want to think I could but I am not sure. I don't like the tiny houses with the lofts for sleeping. I like to be able to stand up to make the bed and get dressed. May a tiny house for a vacation home but not for full time living.

I lived in a 700 sq ft NYC apartment for 10 years. I sew and do art and was able to make it work by being organized and not accumulating extra unneeded stuff. It's not ideal, but it's definitely do-able. The nicest thing about it, besides living in the heart of a big city, is that it feels very light and freeing not to have a lot of unused, unnecessary belongings around. Not for everyone, but I was very happy. That is just how I imagine it would be, light and freeing. That's my fantasy life -living in an apartment in NYC & making a living from home, on my own terms. I don't even need much of a kitchen, because my fantasy involves going out to restaurants and eating take out & delivery most of the time. I could turn my kitchen into an office like Carol Radziwill did on RHONYC. haha I hope you get to live that fantasy one day. I started my own business out of that apartment and did it for 8 years there. It can be done! And by the way, everybody does take out in NY most of the time. It's cheaper than buying food at a grocery store and Seamless or GrubHub apps have hundreds of places to choose from.

I could do a tiny apartment, if it meant I could live in NYC. I lived in tiny apartments in NYC. I didn't mind-- I was rarely home anyway, and it was worth it. I couldn't live in a tiny space with kids. I think how much time you spend outside the tiny space is probably a key component for many people. In my case, when I lived in tiny spaces, it was in an area with horrible, freakishly cold, very snowy and long winters in a rural area. So aside from 8 hours of work, a 10 minute total commute, and trips to the grocery store, we were stuck inside those tiny spaces. After a while, it felt like the walls were closing in on me. If all you're really doing is sleeping and showering in a space and you don't have hobbies, a hotel room can be fine. Otherwise, not so much. Or for me, anyway. I'm sure there are people who could hibernate and spend all of their non-work time reading in a chair and be perfectly happy touching walls with both hands at the same time. Just not me!

I live by myself and I have 1600 sq. ft. A tiny house is not for me. I do think it is good, though, because it forces you to get rid of stuff. I recently purged when I moved to this condo but I could easily get rid of half the stuff I did keep. I think I'll do another purge next year.
I like windows. Every room of my house except for the bathrooms has to the floor windows. Small windows would drive me crazy.

Could, yes. We do a lot of RVing with three/four people and 3 large dogs. I have learned a lot of small space storage and living tricks.
Would I want to, not right now. I enjoy our 1400 sq foot house. We are curious if it will be too big when dd moves out, so we will see then if we down size again or not. I don't think we will live full time in the RV though.

Only if it were a blue water cruising live aboard sailboat. I really want to rent out our house for a couple of years, buy a boat like this and take off, sailing across the seas. A tiny house to live in-no way! A small boat like this-yes!!!
