There are a couple of women I know who lose a couple a year. Or break them somehow.
Perhaps I'm incurring the wrath of the cell phone mojo, but I've never cracked a screen or lost a phone.

DH and I have not done either, but I know a couple people who have. I know this isn't what you asked, but I am a R'pea, and you know we can change the subject any time we want , but DH has broken the screen of his iPod. He's REALLY careful with his stuff, so I'm surprised, but it was an accident, so, ya know...things happen.

I think my life is pretty routine, and I usually carry a purse. Maybe the losers are losing them from pockets...

My DIL...she's broken screens, lost them, dropped one in a toilet, dropped one in the tub - and those are only the ones I know about!
I will jinx myself, but I've never lost or broken one.
ETA - and washed DS's several times. You'd think HE would stop leaving them in pants and SHE would start checking his pant, LOL.

Well, I still use a flip phone so clearly I don't lose or break 'em but lately I've been thinking that I need to!
My husband's business partner had dropped hers in the toilet - twice.

Yes. My son is incredibly hard on cell phones. I am not kidding you when I say I have never seen him using a phone without a cracked screen. He's a rough and tumble guy for sure but geez... He is equally careless with his sunglasses, and he only wears Oakleys. I can't tell you how many pairs he has lost. Most of them he finds eventually. It drives me nuts, but it's his money he is wasting, so whatever.

I have lost two in my life and broke the screen on my iphone 5. Accidents happen.
I have a family member who gets a couple of new phones a year. Like the latest and greatest. I don't understand that. How can people without jobs afford to pay full price for two handsets a year? I'm holding out for a price break on an iphone 6 because I'm cheap.

My husband, in fact this last phone..well technically the phone before this one he dropped almost as soon as he got it and cracked the screen. He was afraid to go to the lady at his company who hands them out as he just got it and the last one before that he dropped and broke it. So we put a plastic screen cover over it and he used it, used it right up until he lost it. Fell out of his pocket when he rode his motorcycle..he searched for it but couldn't find it. Luckily he just uses the one from the company so they do replace the phones pretty often, but he's pretty bad at dropping them and thankfully I don't have to pay for them.
I will also say that my ds was equally as bad when he first became a cell phone user. We had one phone take a dip in the pool, another through the washer, one was stolen and another lost. I bought him insurance right from the get go, but yikes after awhile they don't want to insure you. After I think the last one I told him he had to buy his own. Thankfully he's gotten much better and (knock on wood) hasn't had any more incidents.

One of my grandson's, the 25 year old, seems to lose cell phones on a regular basis. The only one I know the fate of, he dropped into a lake. DH recently cracked the glass on his tablet. A stray cat got into the hanger and jumped on the plane wing where DH had set the tablet, knocking it on the cement floor. Honest, that's what he told me!

Cell phones are always breaking at work but we work in production and have a bunch of engineers around their inventions that can sometimes be unpredictable. I dropped my phone on the break room floor on my first day and was scared to pick it up, the floors are cement. Luckily it didn't shatter!

Yes I do. My dear friend keeps dropping and breaking them. But she is either incredibly careless or incredibly unlucky, because I think most of her stuff is missing pieces or has cracks in them. She owns at least four mugs with no handle (just helped her pack for a move, so I saw this first hand). She also inherited a lot of stemware and china which I helped pack down. There was hardly a single piece without a crack or missing part. I have no idea why. Was it that way when she inherited it? Is the clumsy her family affliction? Or did she chip and crack everything herself? I just couldn't bring myself to ask or comment. None of my business. But yeah, she goes through at least two-three phones a year. I am very proud to say that I have only broken one phone in my life. And I usually keep my phones for 3-4 years before upgrading. I feel like I am doing something right in my life looking at those stats!

Both of my kids. Jeez Louise. I tried to raise them right, but I've never seen either one of them with an uncracked screen (except when brand new, and believe me, it doesn't last long). Then they lose them. DD is on my account and she's not allowed to have a smartphone even though she's 32. I've never lost or broken a phone, but I did murder my first iPad by drowning and had to replace it. grrrrrrr

I've broken mine. I smashed it with the back hatch of my SUV as I was closing it. Shattered the screen, split open the sides, and bent the phone. It wasn't broken, it was totaled.
Other than that all we've broken is cases.

I still have the 4s with a cracked case on the corner and lines on my screen that need fixed. But I don't upgrade for another year. I need to call and see if I can get it fixed on warranty I just keep puttiing it off. My dad goes through a few of them like that but he works construction he doesn't get too much grief from anybody. For my family it's sunglasses.

I have only dropped one of my phones in a parking lot once and it was ok even though it was a cement/paved surface. So far I have not broken any of them or cracked any screens. But I'm also not a big phone user.
Dh and dd have never cracked a screen or broken theirs either. But both of them have had their phones die on them and had to replace them. But it didn't seem like anything either of them did, just iPhones that died a slow death.

My BIL jumped in a pool, fully clothed, and forgot that his cell phone was in his pocket... That killed his phone for good.
He's the only one I know of though.

I don't ever remember losing or breaking phone. I DID throw my robe in the wash one morning with it in my pocket, but luckily remembered before it was too late. The water had not filled yet and I ran down before. Phew.

I have a coworker who broke his phone so often that Apple gave him grief about it the last time he had to go replace it under the insurance. Threatened him that it would be the last time lol.

Yeah dd. She has managed to go through 5 or 6 phones in the last couple of years. That doesn't include 2 or 3 screen repairs

I know someone who lets her toddlers play with her phone any time she doesn't feel like paying attention to them.
The kids accidentally break them all the time.
This is a woman who always claims she can't scrounge 2 dimes together to pay her electricity bills, but buys new iPhones 3 to 4 times a year.
I don't understand it.

I've never lost a phone and just got a smart phone last year. A hand-me-down from a friend. We were at a picnic and were both looking at my pristine screened phone. I put it on the table and the next time I pick it up it had a hairline crack across the screen. We never could figure out what happened. But it still works fine and it was a free phone so I'm going to keep using it as long as its usable!
