I haven't been here in months. On my birthday in April, I was having some weird things going on, so went to my ob/gyn and found out I had cysts and tumors in my uterus and ovaries and so scheduled a hysterectomy. A few days after the procedure, I was in such extreme pain that they admitted me back into the hospital. Turns out I had a nerve entrapment...from a stitch that the doctor took through a nerve. He's a good friend of ours...grew up with my husband so you know I gave him crap for that. I was in so much pain for 3 weeks till the stitch wore off. Ended up going to my dd's graduation in a wheelchair because I couldn't walk. THe night before my surgery he had a dream that my spleen exploded while he was doing the hysterectomy...and it was rainbow colored...haha...but he said that weird dreams before surgery always make him nervous. So, he was looking around after removing my uterus and found a tumor in my bladder. He said to check it out after I felt better. The following weeks after my hysterectomy were horrid emotionally. Crying, sensitive, blah blah blah. It's been horrible. On top of that, I have fibromyalgia, so I had a flare up about 6 weeks after my surgery. I finally went to the urologist and had surgery to remove the tumor, and he biopsied four other suspicious spots in my bladder and he also used a chemo drug to "rinse" the bladder. I just went in this last Monday to follow up and he said, "Well, it's Stage 1 bladder cancer, but all the biopsies came back good. " so I go back in three months to see if anything has grown, and then 3 months after that. He said it was a good thing I had a hysterectomy, because you just don't find bladder cancer until it's pretty advanced. So, how has your summer been?

Wow, what a summer. I guess if you are trying to find a bright side… no more period. Glad they found the bladder cancer so early.

You know you can come to us, day or night, because someone else has been there, or someone can send you a hug, hold your hand, let you vent...whatever. We can take it. We are your support network, too.
Eff cancer!

Wow. What a good thing that your surgeon decided to poke around a little! Sorry your summer has been lousy, but I hope your treatment goes really well...and that you'll be around here more!

I'm so sorry you summer has been hell. It will get better, the mood swings will even out. I imagine the worry and uncertainty are adding to them.
I found walking helped. I have severe RA and had to go off all my meds for three months before surgery and three months after. Walking was difficult and painful, but I wasn't screaming at people without reason, I wasn't clenching my teeth and telling my DH to stop breathing because I couldn't stand the sound. At first I'd just walk half way down the street, but I kept adding a few steps everyday. It really helped. I still walk 16 years later.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My summer? My brother unexpectedly died in June, and my mom was diagnosed with cancer for which she will have a very risky surgery, that she may not survive, next week. She is already a twice cancer survivor, so we are hoping three times is a charm.
I am sorry you are going through this but glad your cancer was found early. My uncle died from bladder cancer that was found very late.
Sounds like you will do well. Take care.

What a shock that must have been for you, to find out you had cancer. I'm glad they caught it early enough to do something about it. Here's hoping you stay tumor free.

Oh ick, what a summer you have had. I echo others as I say that is so good that they caught the bladder cancer so early. Who could have known that your hysterectomy was a blessing in disguise. I do hope that your Fall is totally uneventful and you will be feeling like your old self again.

But wouldn't it have been cool if your uterus really was rainbow colored? I'm sorry you've been through so much this summer. I'm going through a similar situation, so emotional breakdowns are permitted. Especially when your hormones are all wacky. Things will get better!

Oh my goodness - that is awful, but thank God they found the bladder cancer. I hope and pray you are cured.
My late FIL had bladder cancer that was well managed for many, many years - sort of a chronic illness.

Wow! What a summer. I'm sorry that you've been in so much pain, but glad that you can tease the doc a bit. I'm also glad that they caught the bladder cancer early and that hopefully you won't need more treatment for it.

I'm sure after all that you've been through, you don't feel very lucky, but it's such a good thing they caught it early. I hope you continue to be cancer free.

OMG. You poor thing...I can't even imagine going through all that. I had a hysterectomy this year and it was a long/slow but uncomplicated recovery. I can't imagine having all those additional problems to contend with. I hope you feel better soon. Lots of good healing thoughts being sent to you and lots of HUGS!!

Goodness gracious! What an ordeal! I am glad you are feeling better.
Congrats on finding the cancer early. That is wonderful.
Just to let you know, my grandmother had bladder cancer and had the bladder chemo similar to what you are describing. It was cured and she never had an issue again.
