I need a pick me up too. I lost about 68 pounds and thought I would try adding a few maintenance calories in to slow the weight loss and gradually adjust. I had about 3 pounds left to normal BMI and then figured about 5 pounds after that.
But... I lost control. After being so careful most meals, I drank/ ate at a social gathering on Friday night. Out for Mexican food (split a mojito and dessert) On Saturday night. Sunday lunch ate jimmy johns. Tried an unwich but also had chips and HORRORS!! Ate Chinese food on Sunday. And the neighbor girl keeps bringing over cookies. Ack
I know it a combo of water weight and a few pounds but I need a new strategy for maintenance. I am back to work after having good quality exercise time this summer. I am running my first 10k on Saturday.
So yeah, let's hear some good stories.

Good luck on your 10k!! I find moderation difficult, so I understand where you are coming from. I need to be very strict with myself -- it's much easier to eat dessert once a week at my mom's house than it is to try to moderate at home.

I didn't gain any weight on any of my vacations this summer. Three long weekends lots of yummy food, but I paired it with a lot of walking/hiking.
So over all I am down 2 pounds since June.
In my book that is a success!

Way to go, Kt! Definitely a success.
Angie/M, totally with you on the bra thing. I need new ones but don't want to have to replace again soon!

Down 33 as of this weekend's weigh in! My biggest "little" victory was when a new friend asked to see pics of my boys and when I showed her a family pic she said I look like a different person. That was huge!

I am down 71 pounds since the end of December. Down 7 in August after a 3 week stall the end of June/beginning of July. I had to buy new bras, too. And workout pants. On Weds night before my class, I tried on every pair of workout pants I owned trying to find a pair that wouldn't fall down. Found one!

71 pounds in less than a year is fantastic. What are you doing?
I've been doing low impact cardio 6 days a week and strengthening exercises with weights but I'm kind of stuck these days. I'm maintaining my weight but not losing. I'm pretty sure it's something in my diet not lack of exercise. I have to do low impact because I have bad knees.

I'm just getting started. I decided to go no sugar in August. I expected it to be hard and frankly I really told myself that I would see how long I could last, never expecting to be able to keep it up. In the past, going no sugar has been very, very difficult for me. So much so that I rarely last more than a few days. This time it's been almost a piece of cake. It's weird. I've had a couple of moments where I had a small craving, but it was easily overcome and I went on. Nothing major. So because of that one change I'm down six pounds in August so far. I had lost a couple of pounds in July, so that's 8 total. Normally when I lose weight I lose very slowly, like 1/2lb for a week is a good week. My pants fit better. I know at least half of it was water weight, but it was water that needed gone. I've had issues with swelling in my hands and ankles this summer, but since the first week of August I haven't had any issues.

I'm still sucking big time. I keep starting over and getting a couple of days in and then falling off the wagon. I'm trying to get my head into the game so that next week when school starts, I can get into a good routine. I'm only going to be working 1 day a week so NO excuse not to get it done.

I vented here before about my dramatic weight gain due to my birth control. 26 pounds in one year. Yikes! So 3 mo ago today as a matter of fact I said enough! I made exercise a priority and starting tracking every calorie in MFP. In 3 mo I have lost 13 pounds and 12.5 in. I am stronger, I mean I can plank and do split down dog into one legged plank pushups. I mean what?!! I hate to sweat and all of the sudden I am doing TurboFire HIIT classes. But I have grown to like the exercise and even need it now. Never in my life has this happened!
I just wanted to get the birth control weight off. But I am probably stronger now than I was in college even though I weigh more.
Every day is a new day and I have to work at it but slow progress is still progress.

I have been doing the diet portion of the 21 day fix for a little over two weeks. I haven't been perfect, but overall I am happy with the changes I have made. I am trying not to focus on the scale but have to admit that I am a little discouraged. The Friday after I started I was down 4lbs. By the next Monday I was up 3, for a total loss of about 1lb. I have been fluctuating a bit but that is still where I am at. I have my period now so I am hoping that in the next few days I will drop a little.
Until today I have had very few cravings. I had to work late and didn't account for that. By 3:00 I was starving and had already eaten all of the food that I had with me. I caved and got McDonald's (and nothing healthy since I had to eat while driving to an appt). I am happy that I haven't eaten there in almost three weeks, which is huge for me, but wish I would have had a better quick option today.

Y'all are doing great! I've lost 25 lbs recently through low carb eating. I never look at calories or sugar. Now my clothes are looser and my drawers keep falling down and I have to pull them up when I am out and about. I think I'm going to start looking for new clothes this winter/spring.

Great Job everyone! The continuous healthy lifestyle is so hard especially when bad habits are sometimes so easy to go back to. Best thing though and it seems like everyone is trying hard to do this is to dust yourself off if you make a bad choice and try again. That's really all we can do is keep going.
I used to think omg, I messed up so badly this week, I will start again next week. But I am learning to just go meal by meal. If you happened to give into a craving, just continue on and make the next choice a better one.
Someone told me last week "Be Kind to Yourself". I think that is really great advice ♥

Not eating McDonald's fast food for three weeks is a huge victory! Now that you know you need something to tide you over on late days, you can keep some nuts or bars or something that keeps well just in case it happens again. Learning your weaknesses and how to fix them is gigantic.

Oops, I meant to add my own. I've had house guests pretty much constantly for the last two months. Parties, eating out, my DD being here with her trail of junk food...All of those started an almost 10-lb gain. But in the last two weeks I've dropped 5 lbs (I'm sure most of it was water, but I'll take it.) I have a nice run of a regular routine until a big family wedding and vacation week in November. I hope to have better control and more success before then.

I found you! I've been forgetting to look for this thread for a while now and obviously, have been missing it!
I'm down a bit--maybe 5ish pounds since mid-July. I haven't looked at the scale since last week at the dietitian's office and I won't because I'm PMS and I know seeing a "gain" will throw me for a loop and get me off track. I'm really working on not letting the little things derail me. As my therapist (weight loss counselling) said: "You really can't see the forest for the trees"...to which I countered "Nope, I can't see the trees for the leaves...there's no way I'm seeing the forest!" I tend to pick apart my faults, my failures, my "not so great" moments and hyper focus on those instead of focusing on the hundreds of good choices I made all day. It's a really annoying process to get out of my own way. If I just don't hyper focus on it, I'm usually ok. If I think too hard about it, I'm a mess. It's a delicate balance. I'm working out 5 days/week. My schedule's been wonky due to kid doctor appointments and summer activities, but I'm getting something in and it's helping. Hoping to feel more fit and slim as I continue. I'll have an appointment with the therapist and dietitian in a few weeks and I'm hoping to be down another 5ish pounds. Slow, slow, slow, but steady.

I am in yo-yo mode. Doing pretty good for breakfast and lunch but not so good for dinner and eating a lot of ice cream (darn you Summer.) I am back to my heaviest weight again but am not very motivated. I work on a school schedule and go back full time on August 31 so I am hoping by then I will be ready to take control back. I think I need to throw exercise into the mix. I lost 30 pounds 3 years ago by diet alone (MyFitnessPal) but don't think that will work now. Kudos to all of you.

I have lost 16.5 pounds since April. I have learned that I really like the recumbent bike. I guess I should thank my Achilles tendons for developing tendinitis, lol.
I have been doing really well with exercising the past month and pretty good with my eating. It is so hard when you are the only one in a household of 4 people that is watching what she eats and exercises.

Ashley - I'm curious what you're packing for lunch at work? I could use some ideas. I know I am not Ashley but here are a few of the things I bring:
Today- about 2 cups of raw veggies with hummus to dip, a hardboiled egg, and 1 oz of organic sharp cheddar and a square of 80% dark chocolate
yesterday- cottage cheese, apple, hard boiled egg and various raw veggies
A few weeks ago I made roasted veggie wraps on Sunday and then wrapped them up and had them all week. Whole wheat tortilla, spread with something (usually roasted red pepper hummus, but sometimes salad dressing) then pile on a bunch of roasted veggies. Roll it up and stick it in the fridge. But I don't mind eating the same thing everyday!!
I also make crustless veggie quiche on the weekend and then cut it into 5 slices and store it in the fridge and grab a piece each morning.

1 1/2 years into this journey. Slow and steady wins the race. Since June I've lost about 5 pounds. No where near the 10 I wanted to loose, but I know I have built up some amazing muscles. I have crossed from the BMI Index saying "Obese" to "Congratulations". No longer considered "overweight".
Finished my first century bike ride this past weekend. WAY beyond what I thought I could do but I did it. (Mileage wasn't a problem at all, it was the hills -- hills like I had never rode before.)

I have been on a 1500 daily calories diet with modest exercise for 90 days and have lost just about 15 lbs - right on my target. disappointed that 15 lbs hasn't made much difference in my appearance, but it has eased my knee arthritis, clothes are looser and digestive troubles are reduced.
I have gone over 1500 calories about 3-4 times but compensated with exercise on 3 of those days. I was away from home each time and less able to control my choices. Basically I'm on track and hoping to be 20 lbs down by mid Sept so when I go to the shore I can pick up some cute clothes on sale in a smaller size.
for work I always bring whatever I had for dinner the night before and some fruit in lite whipped topping. It is my treat only 10 calories a serving, since I am only doing calorie count. I have cottage cheese at 10 am and fruit at 3pm.

Perfect timing to venture into this thread! Congratulations for all of the successes; it's very encouraging.
I'll admit I've gained a LOT of weight over the past several years. Lack of motivation, lazy, whatever...the weight kept adding up. And then started some health issues. First, it was my blood pressure, and I was taking one pill. After some time, doctor doubled the dosage. Now...my blood sugar levels are creeping up. After my last A1C test about 5 weeks ago, doctor insisted I go see a dietician. What she didn't tell me was she wanted me to start checking my levels twice a day. THAT was my wake up call.
So today I went for my one month weigh in and I've lost 11 pounds! I do my best to not think about the bigger picture of the total amount I need/should lose, because that makes that 11 pounds seem like nothing. But, it's 11 pounds less than what I weighed 4 weeks ago today.
I was slow to start back on the treadmill, but I started a week ago. It's slow going, but I'm damn determined to stop, and reverse, the damage I've caused.
Thanks so much for starting this thread, and keep it up everyone!

Congrats to all you ladies working hard and seeing successes!! And to everyone else - keep it up!! We can do this!!
My goal for the week was to watch my calorie intake and do 30 mins of exercise 4 times this week. I've done pretty good on the eating and I'm halfway to my exercise goal. I went to the track this morning and walked for 30 mins. It was hot...it was humid...and I was sweating profusely. But I did it. And I stepped on the scale and was happy to see 4 lbs gone since Monday. I know it's water weight but I don't care. The number was less than it was on Monday. LOL It's a motivator!!
