Well, I probable have quite the list, but this morning I wondered why I have trouble using arrows. I see them on layouts, usually piled on and they look so right at home. Arrows seem like they should be so neutral, but they rarely seem to look right on my layouts.
Of course, on a much larger scale, I love embellishment clusters and lots of embellishments, but I still have trouble getting what I deem enough on my pages.
So, what do you see others using that has you scratching your head on how to put on your pages. I'm talking things you want to use, not the trends that we just don't like or understand.

Flowers. I buy plenty of them, fussy cut them when the PP has them, know how to make a few rolled-up versions, punched versions and so on. I have at least 3 dies to produce them. I usually end up pushing them around indecisively and remove them before finalising my design.
On the plus side, I attended a class with Prima's Frank Garcia last month and the class sample was literally covered in flowers: metal, paper, with stems and in singles. I quite like the item I came away with so maybe when I get some time I can take my lead from there.

Embellishments in general. I have such a problem with them and consider myself embellishment challenged. I don't get clustering. I don't get the "rule of three." I don't get it! I mean, i understand the, but for the life of me, I can not put it into practice. So my layouts are often pretty bare. Which, I suppose, is the trend right now but I love seeing other people's embellished pages.
Even if I scraplift directly, it still doesn't feel or look right to me.

Watercoloring.
Everyone has these beautifully blended colors. Mine just look blobby.

Sewing on pages - I love it, and it would totally fit my style. But I never seem to do it. Is it because I don't want to pull out the sewing machine? I don't think so, it sits right next to my electronic die cutter and I use that all the time. Is it because I am afraid I will mess up? I don't think so because I have plenty of supplies so I could absolutely do a re-do if I messed up. I am just not sure why I struggle adding this. I love the look, it's not that complicated. Maybe I will challenge myself to sew on at least three layouts this weekend, to get me in the habit of doing it.

I don't need as many embellishments when I stitch. LOL.

Paper layering. When I try it, it just looks like I piled a bunch of random things underneath my photo.

I can't do clusters either. It always ends up looking like this cluttery pile of crap and I usually end up pulling almost all of it off. Most of my pages have a fairly straightforward and "clean" style. Sometimes when I only have one or two photos I think I might want to try doing something outside of my comfort zone and it never ends well!

Sewing is hard for me as well as I was never a sewer a d my mom never taught me how to sew. Trying to sew over a thicker is a nightmare for me!! But I love the way it looks! Clusters, embellishments, and layering I struggle with as well. It's so much easier for me to scraplift something with these things already thought out for me cause otherwise sometimes trying to come up with it on my own drives me crazy. And I watch allot of technique videos but it just doesn't stick. Maybe I'm just really not that creative

I'm nodding my head in agreement as I read through the posts - I'm SO not an artsy scrapper - love the look but can't pull it off -no ink, no paint, no embellishment clusters, no layering, no random alphas, ...

I cannot seem to make the triangle thing work without the page looking too busy. I have a hard time finding the right balance with embellishments. I like clean and simple, but not too plain. I like embellishments, but not too many.

Mine is misting Looks like it was done by a kindergartner. I don't know; there may be some kindergartners better than me.

Misting is my big failure as well I bought so many bottles of those Tattered Angels mists and ended up giving them all away -- I hated every single thing I misted!

Embellishment clusters, layering and misting are just difficult for me. I study my Pinterest boards of Embellishments and try to copy exactly and they look awful on my pages. I try layering and they look like I'm trying to hide my hoard of scraps. And misting is just beyond me. The only thing that gets misted well is my table and my hands.

Layering Coloring with Copics- I'm intimidated. Using Cameo/Cricut- I have a Cricut E2 and I hardly used it because when I do I misss things up. I've never used a Cameo but im sure I would mess that up too!

I think I am getting better at clustering. I find if I have an anchor - a tag or little card - then cluster on top it looks better.
I am intimidated by mists, too. Also, I haven't stitched on a layout yet. I use the excuse I'd have to get my machine out, but really I think I'm just afraid to try!

For me, it's word embellishments, and arrows!
And minimalist pages:; other people's look spacious and graphic, mine looks sparse and unfinished.

Flowers and clusters. Although I'm improving with clusters. Flowers still look out of place to me.
I think I must be the only scrapper that doesn't have a cutting machine. I have a Cuttlebug if that counts, but I've only used maybe a dozen times.

Copics - what a waste of money! I might as well use Crayola Washables! My friends do gorgeous work with Copic/Spectrum Noir markers, but my work looks awful.

I am crafty but I am not an artist and I really struggle with it. I'd love to be able to just let go and see how something turns out but it is just not my personality.

Clusters and flowers. I came to terms with the no flower thing years ago but I am so desperate to perfect the art of a layered cluster. Other people make it look so easy but it just looks like a blob of random pieces of paper when I attempt it.

Oh my gosh, buttons. Buttons for sure. They always look out of place when I try and use them. I finally dumped them all in a vase and use them as scraproom decor

Sewing - I can never get it to be straight. It looks like I've had too many beers and then decided sewing would be a good thing to do.

This is a fascinating thread...how different we all are! I love embellishments and clusters...I am like ashley...I feel when I do minimalist pages they aren't right somehow... The first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread though was...Tags! They always look forced when I use them. I see so many people using tags so beautifully. I am currently working on a layout with a tag on it because darn it, I will learn to use them!

Stamps. I always wind up with ink all over me which makes me not want to use them.

So many things!!
Cutting with scissors. Not fussy cutting, I can do that, but using scissors to cut mats or trim something. I can't cut straight to save my life.
Embellishment clusters. I have gotten a bit better, but it doesn't come easily.
Ink splatters. Sometimes mine look tortured!
Copics. I just don't have the knack I guess. The whole shadow/light concept is hard for me to grasp.
Final touches. That last sprinkling of dots/gems/sequins, sometimes I get it wrong.

Ok, my biggest struggle is grid designs. I love the look but I struggle with getting the balance between embellishments and papers and photos. Mine just seem wrong. It seems like it should be a quicker design, but takes me forever!
