I wish I could say that it was a good kind of busy, but that's not the case.
After more than 28 yrs of marriage, my husband and I will be divorcing. I know plenty of refupeas have been in the same boat...and now I'm there too.
I'm not going to put a whole lot of my "business" out there (mostly because I don't want my husband or his attorney visiting to read...probably not likely, but a possibility for sure, I suppose) but rest assured that I've been busy collecting all of the necessary information and visiting with my Trust attorney, (a few times) hiring a divorce attorney, and speaking to my money man.
It's early and there are still so many unanswered questions in regards to the what the future holds for me, or my kids. (well namely my DS...he's the only minor...will be 17 in December)
Busy looking for work. Filled with much stress and anxiety over all of the unknowns...have lost 10 lbs in 12 days. I didn't eat yesterday until almost 10pm (and seriously...had a glass of OJ during the day and a few glasses of water) Tried to do better today to eat a little for breakfast and a small lunch...and my stomach hurt so bad from stress that I actually said to myself "oh yes...this is why I don't want to eat" Stomach hurts when I eat...stomach actually feels better when I'm not eating.
So there it is.
On the bright side, DS started the process today for Governor's Honors Program...a month long summer program for high achieving and talented kids. His "major" would be Voice. It's a huge deal, huge honor, and very difficult to get accepted. (there are roughly 30 Vocal majors in the entire state...and when you break that down to 4 vocal parts it's even more difficult) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Governor%27s_Honors_Program
In addition, he received a letter in the mail today stating that with his 2nd academic year of a 4.0 gpa or higher, he has now earned a chevron to accompany his academic letter he earned for Freshman year. |

I am so sorry. This is not a club most of us willingly join. Hang in there and even though you don't believe it now, it will get better. Give yourself time to grieve.

I'm so sorry. Clearly this wasn't something you anticipated, but it sounds like you are doing all the right things to manage the situation as best as you can. I hope you have lots of support from friends and family, and a good shoulder to cry on whenever you need it. That's what got me through my divorce 15 years ago, and I will always appreciate the friends who held me up.
Wonderful news about your son. Incredible honor. I am sure you are so proud of him.

It may not seem like it today, but there are times when you look at this divorce as freeing-like you have lost a ton of weight off your shoulders. I am sorry you joined the club. You will get through it, and come out on the other side a better, stronger person.  |

I'm sorry. I went through my divorce when my kids were small and it was a big blur. You have your affairs in good order from the sound of it...good on you! I wish you well.

Well, I am sorry to hear that. Please try to take good care of yourself...try Ensure or Gatorade just to give yourself some fuel to run on, okay? Hang in there...I have always thought of you as a strong Pea and I know you will come out of this well and happy in the end.

This applies to my sister, as well. Forty years (happily, she thought) married and now, about two years post-divorce, in a better place than she ever thought she would be. i hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and your kids. And I am sorry you are "joining the club" It is hard at first. That first year, while going through the process and shortly after the only thing I could keep down as the $1 burgers at McDonalds. I discovered food was tied to memories in very unexpected ways. I couldn't keep down the memories, emotions and food. After that revelation I branched out into food/cuisines I hadn't eaten while married and they were much less upsetting to my stomach (literally) If you've always had oj with the h for breakfast try a different juice and see if it helps you.
