These are amazing. And so cool that you got to see a grizzly! I've met black bears, but I have a feeling that I wouldn't react quite as calmly if I ever met a grizzly.

If we hadn't known it was in the area, I would've been a lot more freaked out! This is the second time we've seen a grizzly on the trail. The other time was in Glacier NP and it was a mama with two cubs. We happened to catch up to a large group when we came across the bear, so safety in numbers and all that (and worse came to worse, I figured I could outrun at least one person ). Black bears aren't as intimidating, but there have been some instances of black bears killing in the Northeast (one happening this year in NJ).

Don't you have a blog? I thought I remember that from the old two-peas board. The photos are breathtaking. What an awesome place to visit.

Nice pictures! I am headed to lake Louise next month, now i am very excited! Any food recommendations in that area? I was also wondering what type of lenses you use on your trips?
ETa sorry i saw in your other post what lens you are using, thanks!

I just came back from there a few weeks ago & now I want to go back!!! Its my favourite vacation spot. I tried to convince my dh we should move - but its SO expensive to live there. Its just gorgeous though. I'd never been to Mt Robson Park, I'm going to have to check that out next time we go. And in all my times going, Ive never seen a bear on the trail. You were lucky!

ETa sorry i saw in your other post what lens you are using, thanks! We are more on the frugal side for eating, so our options were limited in Lake Louise. The breakfast wraps at the Trailhead Cafe were good and I loved the nutella-pb bar at Laggan's bakery (also a good option for breakfast/lunch). We ended up at Bill Peyto's cafe a few times for dinner. Wasn't stellar food, but we liked the ambiance and the food/price was fine. Have a fantastic trip!!

The most popular day hike in Mt. Robson is to Kinney Lake (around 13 km/8 miles round trip, mostly flat). It's a pretty hike! To get to the glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, etc it requires a backpack unless you are a trail runner/long day hiker. Mt. Robson is visible from the visitor's center. I think they also fly helicopters in on certain days. We love all the parks, but I think I favorites are actually the provincials (including Assiniboine).

we're frugal eating on trips too. usually when we go we rent a house or condo & cook our meals, as well as pack picnic lunches
