Sharing some pictures from our vacation in the Canadian Rockies this summer. It was our fourth time there and just as beautiful as ever. Thanks for looking! Mt. Robson reflected in Berg Lake at sunrise (Mt. Robson Provincial Park) Steve and Norah on Snowbird Pass (Mt. Robson Provincial Park) Steve and Norah admiring Robson Glacier (Mt. Robson Provincial Park) Family shot at Lake Louise (Banff NP) These three are a series from sunrise at Moraine Lake (Banff NP) - couldn't decide my favorite Also from sunrise at Moraine Lake when the fog rolled in again View of Lake Louise from the Little Beehive (Banff NP) Hiking the windy, barren ridge high on the Skyline Trail (Jasper NP) I'm not a wildlife photographer, but these were two cool sightings. The first was a grizzly bear on the trail (we were aware there was a bear in the area and were able to avoid surprising him, he was aware of us and paid no attention). The second was a short tail weasel. This is only the third time I've seen a short tail weasel and the first I was able to get some kind of picture (far away - but it was really cute!).

Absolutely beautiful photographs. While the scenery on your adventures is always amazing, you have an incredible ability to take pictures that just takes my breath away. I always look forward to your next trip. I can't believe how your daughter has grown. I love that she has been on these great adventures with you and your husband from when she was in a pack on your back.

Ditto! I think I'm going to suggest to DH that we go out to Banff this weekend. It's been too long since we've been there and these photos have reminded me just how lucky I am to live so close to this beauty.

Oh my gosh, your photos are amazing. You totally captured how amazingly beautiful it is there. Can you come on vacation with me? We went on a biking vacation to Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise and Emerald Lake and I was in awe. I hope you had a zoom on your camera when you got that photos of the bear. We saw 2, but from a car, not while hiking/biking. I probably would have peed if we did

We saw 2, but from a car, not while hiking/biking. I probably would have peed if we did Not a very big zoom lens, but I also cropped the picture to magnify it. My husband took the pictures too - my daughter and I backed away. We had been forewarned about the bear, so were prepared. I told my daughter she wouldn't hear me say this often, but she could be as loud as she wanted on the trail that day. Later we learned that a guy hiking in front of us came around a bend in the trail and saw the bear running down the hill towards him. He about had a heart attack because he thought the bear was charging him, but it was just chasing something (like a ground squirrel). When we saw the bear it was digging up burrows by the trail (probably what it was chasing when the other hiker saw him).
