Have you ever heard of The Red Pill Community?

Yes, I have heard of it, as a frequent reader of Reddit. I even went to the subreddit to gain a better understanding of this and was soon shocked, disgusted and horrified by the outrageous and sexist views of these pigs.

At first I thought it must be my age (early 40's) and views compared to the younger skewed boys (I refuse the word men, real men would never treat woman in that manner.) there. Unfortunately after some thought I realized all generations have these types of assholes, it's just more easily viewed and seen in this world of social media. And easier for them to band together and discuss their thoughts and opinions on women.

Perhaps I am old fashioned. IDK. But that type of mentality is just vile.

I read up on them after the shootings in Santa Barbara, because the shooter was supposedly active on some of those boards (but not getting women).

I think like all internet sites, there is a an awful lot of fantasy writing rather than reality on those boards.

This.  I don't think the fact that they're assholes is fantasy, but I'm convinced that all their talk about how successful their assholian behavior is IS fantasy.

I can understand not being shocked (see above post), but i don't see how you can think it's NBD that an entire group of men think a woman's sole purpose is to be a mans sexual conquest.

Some guys aren't into relationships.

They just want sex.

Why should that get a rise out of me?

I've visited that subreddit once or twice in the past when there was some Reddit drama going on. It's disgusting. I had to laugh, though, when I visited the Ashley Madison subreddit and so many men were freaking out about being outed. They were complete chickenshits. I feel like there is a crossover between the two subreddits - like several people have said, big talkers on the 'net, probably chickenshits in real life.

-because woman are more than just their bodies or looks
-because these types of attitudes spill over past the sex-life part of it, into the work place, causing all sorts of problems
-because woman should be valued as equal people in this world and this subculture views women as lesser individuals
-because do we really want our daughters, nieces and friends to be looked at as conquests and not as a whole person, do we want them having these types of mind games played on them?
-because ultimately as women we should ALL want better for other women. It SHOULD bother you that men are doing these things to women, no matter if it's to you, someone you know, or a stranger.

Woman can be just as bad, I get that. No excuses there at all. But as I see it, although women have made amazing progress towards equality, there is ALWAYS a double standard. A man who has many sexual conquest is seen a stud, or a superstar among his friends. A woman with an equal amount of sex partners is seen as a slut. A man working hard at his career is seen as driven and motivated, a woman is seen as aggressive and a bitch. There are so many examples. And these type of sexist views from men perpetuate all of this. Until that mindset is shifted, we will always be valued less, paid less, and seen as sex objects. That's a sad view of life. I was not washed up at age 25 and at 41 I am not washed up now. I am confident in who I am, I know I'm good at what I do, and I know that my man respects and loves me for exactly who I am. That's what I want for ALL women. That type of respect. We all deserve that.

As a redditor, yeah. They're pretty disgusting.

What I don't get about those guys:
They are men who want sex, without commitment.
There are women who just want sex, without commitment.

Why not just finds some of those women? Then no games necessary, no feelings involved. Both sides get what they want without resorting to stupid mind games. If you find someone who just wants to have sex with you, you won't have to trick her into bed.

So I have a feeling that these guys would have trouble getting even women who just want sex, hence the games and tactics,

given the number of broken families and female-headed families in America today...perhaps some of the problem is that their dad's were either absent or modelling behaviour which didn't show respect for the women in the family?

[and I would venture to guess that many of the women who see men as meal tickets and baby daddies not people were probably ALSO raised in families without strong male figures]

But yes - we need to talk to our sons (and our daughters) about respecting themselves AND others. We also need to model that behaviour both in how we interact with our spouses (or our ex-spouses and/or SOs) and others AND in how we respond to interactions with those who don't treat us with respect.
