My brother is taking my 13 yr. old grandson hunting for the weekend. They'll leave here after dinner so I'm making his recipe for spaghetti tonight for him and both of my grandsons before they go. I'll make garlic toast to go with it. What are you having?

My kids wanted pizza so that's what we are having. I've got the dough and sauce made. Need to go the store after nap to buy pineapple and Canadian bacon. Will make a big salad to go with it.

DD has made some chicken and rice soup with spinach. She found the recipe on YouTube and we made it about a month ago. It was okay, but a little bland. She wanted my advice on how to jazz it up.
So tonight we added some lemon juice and zest, as well as some herbs like parsley and thyme. We also thickened it up so it wasn't as brothy. And I must say it's quite tasty with the little tweaks we made.
I rarely follow a recipe exactly as written, so I'm hoping DD learns it's okay to add her own twist to recipes too.

We're having cheesy chicken broccoli and rice casserole, roasted vegetables, apple slices, and yellow cupcakes with cocoa buttercream. ETA: leannec, let us know if the chicken dish is as good as it looks.

It's been in the high-80s here since the weekend, including INSIDE our house, so we've been doing very little cooking. Today's been the coolest day in a while (only around 80 outside and breezy), so I think we may attempt it. Of our all options (tortellini, sausage and pasta, or tacos), I think tacos will require the stove to be on for the least amount of time, so that might be our winner. Now all I need is the motivation to actually cook it...

We're having a casserole with cabbage, ground beef, onions, rice, tomato soup, and cheese. A cross between stuffed cabbage and american chop suey. It sure cleaned out the fridge, we'll see how it tastes.

Dinner is book club tonight. I made brownies-from a box. I never make box brownies-I have a recipe I use but just didn't feel like going through the motions today. I really wanted to do the caramel/chocolate covered apple thing, but again...didn't feel like going through the motions. I think that means lazy, right?? I am pretty hungry though, so maybe I will eat a quick peanut butter sandwich before I go.

My husband just called and said he bought everything to make turkey noodle soup for us and veggie soup for DD. The thing is - I HATE turkey noodle soup! There is just something about reheated cooked turkey that I can't stand. I'm fine with cold turkey and turkey out of the oven, but I swear it tastes different when it's reheated. I felt so bad! How awesome that he took the initiative to get everything and is willing to make it! So he said it was okay, he'll just make extra veggie soup and less turkey soup. I need to make it up to him somehow...

Well it's in the 80s again and it's Survivor night so our group is going to grill burgers before we watch. I'm bringing macaroni salad and a new recipe layer cake. It's an old fashioned yellow cake with fruit filling and I'm frosting it with chocolate buttercream to appease the picky teenager who only likes chocolate desserts. I hope it doesn't suck, as said teenager would say...

I made Swiss Steak in the crockpot. There were some leftover egg noodles in the fridge and steamed some broccoli to go with it.

Dh made himself a sandwich before softball. High school conferences are tonight and tomorrow, so I made ds go with me today for his off site class. He and I grabbed BW' s on the way home and they actually got our order right! Tomorrow, ds is working conferences at the high school from 5-8pm and I will head there after work to knock out those conferences. Everyone will eat whatever they find whenever they find it!

Meatloaf muffins (I've tried dozens of meatloaf recipes but until tonight's haven't found one I LOVED!) mashed potatoes and corn. It was delicious!

We had spinach and mozzarella pizza. I wasn't sure I'd be crazy about it, but the recipe made a honey/lemon/crushed red pepper drizzle that went on just before serving, and it tot sly made the pizza. It was SO good... Can't wait for the leftovers at lunch tomorrow!

I made a fried egg over avocado toast and bacon. Needed something semi-light after the big ol' cheeseburger I had at lunch.

I had white pizza with broccoli and grilled chicken. I've been trying really hard not to order dinner in at all over the past few months and I finally caved last night and ordered a pizza. But I did go 4 months without ordering delivery! Although, I have gone "out" to dinner quite a bit in those 4 months as well,
