Everyone contributes a dish to a group meal. Thank you. It's not something I've ever done. It can be fun and nerve-racking all at the same time!

I also remember the pile on of the pea who bought organic lettuce and mentioned suing the company because there was a bug in it.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned SIDEWALK CUPCAKES!! Another controversial one, crock pot liners (Oh, the PLASTIC!). Or just crock pots in general. And then we have the controversy of returning your shopping cart to the corral. Oh, I just thought of another one. Preschool aged child wore an expensive sports jersey to school and they used fingerpaint that day at school and got paint all over it. That thread became epic and mom was scolded for sending her child to school in an expensive jersey. I remember the jersey.. but missed the sidewalk cupcake one IIRC that was blue tulip . She made cupcakes for kiddie to take to class; they were very cute with Lego men made with care by kid. Right in front of the school said kiddie had a little stumble and cupcakes met a clean-looking pavement. No kids were harmed in the process of making sure all classmates got a taste

I've heard Lettuce-gate mentioned a few times but I have no idea what it's about, other than lettuce of course! I can't imagine salad leaves being controversial but ya never know with the Peas Oh yea!! that was me!! ha! Like Sues said, that is pretty much how it went down, and how I felt. We had a big potluck with a bunch of friends. All of us MADE food. One of our friends wives brought a bag of lettuce, some OPENED bottles of dressing from her fridge, and plopped them down. Yea, was not happy. So there were varying degrees of-I should just be happy she brought anything, and was I sure she was bringing bagged lettuce, to what others home made wasn't THAT much work, to my feelings on putting a bit of work in to it and at least chop up some veggies, or cheese, or NEW dressings. ha.

In MyShelly's "think of the Peas" thread, I became aware that there was a big controversy about flushing the toilet with your foot, which I don't remember at all. Another pea did a wonderful job of briefly explaining what it was all about. I feel enlightened. That got me to thinking that, for as long as I have been here, there are many references to other big controversies that I somehow missed. Here's my list of things I've seen referenced through the years and I always think, I wonder what the heck THAT was all about: 1.) Merkins 2.) Uncrustables 3.) Birdgate Which are on your list? Ha ha, your list is the posts I remember vividly, that not only were huge on the 2peas board but were also referenced in my facebook feed! So funny! Don't forget the ever popular reclining plane seat thread... who knew that was such a hot button? I must say though in all seriousness that I used to be a huge DD fan until Birdgate, and after that could not stand her, her blog, or her work. Uncrustables are awesome and I continued to buy them and "poison" my kids after that thread, and Merkins... that was just entertaining. I have also bought so many things because of the peas: I own a Ped Egg, 3 crock pots, a netti pot, and Moody Bee lip balm (did everyone just get the emailed coupon for 30% your next purchase?) I've learned so much here! Love the peas!

I can't imagine salad leaves being controversial but ya never know with the Peas I'm sure Benem was here with another name not so long ago, I miss her posts they were always entertaining. I wonder what threads we'll all reference and chuckle about in years to come? Now to be fair, cindy had made sloppy joes with tomato soup and they were watching Nascar; cars turning left over and over for hours. I was in the camp of bagged salad was perfectly acceptable.

when I was a parent volunteer for one of my son's 3rd grade field trip to a large zoo, there was another mom helping who was wearing 5" platform heels. to walk around a zoo in. for 5 hours. she was maybe 90lbs soaking wet tho, maybe they don't hurt you when you weigh so little? I would've been crippled, I only wear 5"+ heels for one purpose, and it isn't walking. That mom on your field trip must have been at the Grand Canyon with me when she went on vacation! Seriously, who climbs the Grand Canyon in heels and a very tight mini skirt? She looked pretty silly wobbling her way down the path. Her group didn't get very far before turning around. She gets around...she did a bear watch in Alaska with us. And it was quite a hike to get there.

My eyes took a while to recover from that sight, seen while climbing up the Swiss Family Robinson Tree.

No mention of HOFgate and Kristina Contes? Or did I miss it? Something about a photo of a woman and her family in a raft that she claims to have taken herself by placing the camera in the woods on a hill and she used a timer to take the picture just as they were white-water rafting past that exact spot. And remember the Photography board and how Jinky's actions became everyone's go to style. That they then sold to customers as their own enhancements.

I remember one day on the old board, someone made a reference to a massive thread about wearing nail polish on your toenails that apparently got quite heated. I never saw the original thread, and I can't imagine why a thread on painting your toenails would cause any controversy. Does anyone remember that one? It would have been many years ago. Wasn't that one pedicure related? i remember a thread about a funny blog post that detailed the rules of summer feet (or something like that). It was full of advice like not appearing in sandals if you toenails look like talons. The discussion here started off funny - but then derailed when people with untended tootsies got defensive and said they weren't going to pretty up their feet if they didn't want to - and if you don't like it, don't look. OMG, lol I'd forgotten about that one! And right after that post, FrugalScrapper posted a pic of her ghostly white unpedicured feet as her avatar. Everyone icked out and begged her to take it down and she refused. After a while it became a joke and she'd photoshop her feet for the holidays, lol. OMG. Crazy.

Bernadette was the one who did the raft photo (not Kristina), but it was part of HOFgate. I think there was one other person involved... A man, maybe?

For me, it will always be CherryEye's drawing of how to use a Diva Cup! Not that it's important, but it wasn't CherryEye - it was Cherry - two different Peas. Cherry was a frequent poster who was married and had a couple of kids and then got involved in kind of a mess when a few guys invaded the board in some late night discussions. I think they migrated from another board that they were all (along with some Peas) part of. The name Snow Dog comes to mind and I think he was military. I think she left her husband for a while to be with him, but then she started posting again and was back with her husband, so not sure. CherryEye was an alter of another Pea that was supposed to be funny but said some pretty mean things to a couple of Peas. Once that came out, she pretty much stopped posting under either ID. But don't ask me what I had for breakfast on Saturday.

I can't remember who it was but they went to the GYN for a routine checkup and discovered her cervix was missing. Haiku ensued.
