LOL...I was smack in the midst of the craze of being published then and tried out for HOF a few times (before HOFGate). I remember it well because I was so disappointed to find out the contest was fixed from the get go. Also that thread, if memory serves me right, was almost 50 pages long before it was pulled. The late night thread sticks out in my mind because I had watched those night gals for years (never posted just lurked) and had so much fun with their antics. Another just stuck in my mind all these years thing. I tried a couple times for HOF knowing full well (or assuming) that the contest was rigged. It had to be rigged. There was no way that the winners were so consistent with who was popular at the time and who was getting published. To be honest, I thought that even the whole getting published thing was rigged, by the magazines and the product manufacturers. It was so rare that someone just randomly got published for their work without an obvious pull to the hot product at that moment. I found the whole thing really distasteful and I was kind of glad when the industry imploded because it proved how fake the industry was getting. Actually, I was randomly published myself by just submitting. Memory makers CK, ivy cottage BH&G. I still have a few in the last year in Canadian Scrapbook too. Just from submitting and I'm a nobody to the scrap industry and was back then too. I am proof that getting published was , in fact, not rigged. The contest yes...But for me, not the books or mags.

That's awesome. I am probably rather jaded in my opinions on this. I'm glad you were successful! Thank you ? Ummm... I'm being sincere. Not sure why that isn't clear. I'm happy that you got published and it's awesome. I am rather jaded when it comes to submitting and being published and that I think it's rigged. It's good to know that it's not as bad as I think it is.

For me, it will always be CherryEye's drawing of how to use a Diva Cup! Not that it's important, but it wasn't CherryEye - it was Cherry - two different Peas. Cherry was a frequent poster who was married and had a couple of kids and then got involved in kind of a mess when a few guys invaded the board in some late night discussions. I think they migrated from another board that they were all (along with some Peas) part of. The name Snow Dog comes to mind and I think he was military. I think she left her husband for a while to be with him, but then she started posting again and was back with her husband, so not sure. CherryEye was an alter of another Pea that was supposed to be funny but said some pretty mean things to a couple of Peas. Once that came out, she pretty much stopped posting under either ID. But don't ask me what I had for breakfast on Saturday. I think it was someone else who left her husband.

Don't know why the smiley face emoji didn't show up for you, but she didn't post it the way you saw it. (just want to help avoid a misunderstanding )

I remember Benem being here at our new board early on. She had an ongoing update about a man at work that she was friends with, maybe leading to more than friends. It seemed that he found out about what she was writing, which was really awkward, so she left. Maybe she's here under a different name. The thing I always wonder about is the reference to spreadsheets. Did someone actually do that, is it speculation, or just a joke? I'm imagining what the categories would be. Someone really did keep a spread sheet of the Peas, real names, kids, where they lived...anything she could get her hands on. Then she would throw it back at you in posts.
And someone threatened to out everyone because she had been tagging IP addresses of each poster so she could see if there was two posters using the same ID and out some of the trolls.

Toot! << remember "The Pub" and all the tooting? The rigging of HOF, and most likely all the other big contests, was the start of my scrapping funk that continued with the disappearance of all the magazines. I still get sad when I think of how much I loved the hobby and what a pall all of that cast over it for me.

Oh geez. One I remember but don't really remember involved a female doctor. I think *maybe* she was a sex therapist? Some crap got out about her, what a witch she was to work for and such. Her husband then popped onto the scene to defend her, as he was her PR person (again, I *think*) and even joined the board to bitchslap everyone. I know someone will figure out what the heck I am talking about here.

Was that someone named Ocean Dreamer or something like that? I think that whole fiasco started with somebody making comments on the blog about Ocean Dreamer's post of herself in a bikini or her hair extensions or something like that. And somehow Seanna got involved.

Uncrustables is an ongoing debate over whether they are chemical laden discs of nuclear waste or a delicious, convenient alternative to a pb&j. I just went to the Uncrustables site to look up the ingredients list - the drop down refuses to open. Even THEY don't want you to know what's in them. I think it's safe to say, while they may be delicious, they are indeed chemical laden discs of nuclear waste.

I stopped scrapping altogether after all that chaos and really lost interest in the "who can be on all the DTs" and always the same old people being chosen. Once the "scrap celeb" mentality came about, it wasn't fun anymore. I do scrap now but digitally and I really love the digital way. I have found my way back and I love it again.

I've been trying digital but I just can't get past the whole tactile thing of paper. I need to explore more. That's why I'm doing more papercrafts. I love the texture of paper and people love getting cards in the mail. I remember the outrage when Becky was told by a LETTER that she wasn't going to get her liver transplant. She was an awesome pea, and I miss her so much. I liked Libis too, but she used her blog to get money for her medical bills when she and her husband had bought a sports car, took amazing trips and went to Disneyland. At the time, I was barely keeping my head above water with my medical bills, but I didn't want to beg the peas for money. Ocean Dreamer kept insisting that she could use her posts to get everyone's IP addresses and kept a spreadsheet. She was talking out of her ass on that one. She also was so proud of her hair and went to great lengths to deny they were hair extensions, but the extensions weren't even good ones. She also bragged about her ripped husband and amazing life. In my experience, those who have amazing husbands and a great life, don't have to go to great lengths to convince everyone else how fabulous their lives are. I was there for Nurse Kitty's hairflip. I wish I had gotten a screen shot. It was epic.

Clown porn is exactly what it sounds like, same as any other porn. People dress up as clowns, complete with make up and do nasty things to each other. Lainey, So is that what comes in a happy meal these days?

I vaguely remember a pea who was a regular poster. She was young I think and got pregnant and was a smoker. I remember a multi page thread questioning her llife choices and calling her all sorts of things for smoking while pregnant. Does anyone remember who I'm talking about?

when I was a parent volunteer for one of my son's 3rd grade field trip to a large zoo, there was another mom helping who was wearing 5" platform heels. to walk around a zoo in. for 5 hours. she was maybe 90lbs soaking wet tho, maybe they don't hurt you when you weigh so little? I would've been crippled, I only wear 5"+ heels for one purpose, and it isn't walking. That mom on your field trip must have been at the Grand Canyon with me when she went on vacation! Seriously, who climbs the Grand Canyon in heels and a very tight mini skirt? She looked pretty silly wobbling her way down the path. Her group didn't get very far before turning around. And she must've went on the 4th grade field trip last year to the Flume in northern NH. Seriously, 5" heels climbing a whole lot of wet stairs and then hiking up, up, up and then having to come back down. She was also carrying a LV purse. LOL

Isn't Foolana still here?? and she started the smack blogs?? I had no idea? they are all dead right? gad I hope so, they were stupid. That troll disappeared the same time as the brand new login who offered up a brand new smack blog. It's probably safe to say they are one and the same. Hopefully, also gone are any of the odd "ones" who piled on anyone defending themselves from her trolling and defended her as a (quote) "positive contributor" to the board.
