Here's a dedicated spot to share your kit club experiences. Right now I sub to Felicity Jane, Ali Edwards and The Planner Society. I also sub to the SB kit at SC - at least until the end of the year.
I just saw the new sneaks of the November kit at Felicity Jane and I am in heaven!

I really wish I would have seen the Cocoa Daisy October kit before it sold out! I would have bought that one for sure.
The only kits I have had memberships to were SC, Lityle Red scrapbook (now closed) and The Paper Bakery (now closed). I was on the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out Design team a few years back and I would recommend them for sure. They aren't super cheap but there was always a lot of product and often some mixed media items.

I currently have a few subs as I've been testing things out I sub to Scrapbook Circle and Citrus Twist Kits (SB kits) and to Ali's Story Kit. I also have PL and SB subs with SC, although I'm about to pull the plug on those.
My experiences:
Scrapbook Circle Friendly kit club with great response to CS questions/issues from Lisa Andrews. I got a very warm welcoming email (personalised) when I joined up and Lisa has been super helpful when I reported my most recent kit missing, offering to send a replacement and quickly dealing with things like change of address requests.
Scrapbook Circle kits have a great range of recent product - 8 pieces of patterned paper (no cardstock in the kit but it's available separately) and a nice mix of embellishments. They do exclusive digital products to accompany the kits which are free to subscribers each month. There are sometimes other exclusive embellishments such as acrylic words, stickers etc. Sometimes there are stamps.
This month, the PP is Basic Grey B Side Stellar Basic Grey B Side Monet Basic Grey B Side Well Yes Pink Paislee Memorandum Labels Pink Paislee Memorandum Punch Card Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith Admirable Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith Praiseworthy Dear Lizzy Documentary Happy Happy
This is basically a no subscription club, though when you sign up you are asked to get 2 consecutive kits before cancelling. The cost for a sub is $29.50 per month, with kits available for one off purchase For $34.50.
There's usually a couple of add-ons available each month. Shipping within the US is $7.50 per kit, Canada $13.50 per kit and other international $18.00 per kit.
Story Kit
This is really my favourite sub at the moment, as Ali's educational content is what really makes it. I signed up because I wanted help with story telling, and have not been disappointed. As most of you probably know, Ali uses a thematic approach. Themes are listed up until mid 2016 so you can check them out and see if any interest you.
There's a small selection of product each month - acrylic word, stickers or washi, this month some glitter, and a few cards which can be used for pocket pages or on layouts. With a sub you get access to a private classroom with message board and gallery and there are several videos - product overview and explanations and process videos. There are also guest storytellers each month and lots of inspiration from other subbers.
Prices depend on length of commitment and shipping is free in the US, a $3 handling fee applies to international orders. You do have do some kind of sub - whether it's month to month, 6 month or 12 month, so that's a disadvantage, but IMO the kits are very consistent each month so I had no hesitation switching my month to month commitment to a 12 month after trialling it for a few months.
If you do more than a few pages, this kit needs supplementing from your stash. If you sub to both the Story Kit and Stamp you do get the digital content thrown in, so that could be an advantage.

I sub to the project life kit at studio calico. I just cancelled my scrap kit with them and plan to buy them sometimes when it's super nice Freckled fawn embellishment kit which is so cute
Ali Edwards story kit and stamp, I'm struggling to use them
Messy box which up to this month I have really loved but this month it's like they only gave us half a kit, and only 3 4x6 cards and 3 3x4 cards not even enough for a 12x12 page. There used to be 6 of each at least

Ali Edwards story kit and stamp, I'm struggling to use them I'm curious why this is? I've really only heard great things about them and I'm on the fence about getting them so I'd be interested to hear why you don't feel they're working for you.

I have one more month left with a Cocoa Daisy Day in the Life three month trial. I loved the first kit, September. It's why I signed up. October is decent, but it has lots of cutesy style illustrations of sweaters and foxes and they are on both sides of the cards. Not really my style. I'm not loving the sneaks for November at all. I'm thinking I'll let it go after this month.
I previously had a Blinks of Life membership. I like the clean, airy style to the cards but the kits are light on embellishments, embellishments are super flat, and many of the cards are repeats with slight variations from month to month. I love the thickness of the cards though. They now have two sided cards and the colors have more variety. They offer printable card in their shop but it's $19. That seems steep to me for what you get.

So far I'm not really a story teller I guess, maybe when I've been at this a while longer I will need more of a challenge and use them then, so far I've used very little. last month there was a page of phrase stickers all about facts and feelings, I've no idea how to use them, or this months question onones but I have only been scrapping for a year so it can be overwhelming I suppose and so far I'm keeping my stories simple.

I've subbed to Freckled Fawn in the past and really loved the variety that came in that kit. I currently sub to Scraptastic's This Life Noted (PL) kit. It's more expensive than some, but it's seriously packed. I really like the cards, and you get a ton of embellishments, and a stamp. Jessica is great. In the past I've gotten PL kits from Cocoa Daisy and Gossamer Blue too. Gossamer Blue is often a little on the girly/frilly side for me, but a lot of the kits are really beautiful. Cocoa Daisy kits are nice too, just not always my style. Customer service with both was fantastic though, and I bought last month's Cocoa Daisy PL kit and really like it. I sub to Ali's story kit and stamp, and am looking forward to a time when I'll have more time to actually use them! I dropped my SC PL kit sub a few months ago.

I get kits from Scrapbook Generation www.scrapbookgeneration.com They're page kits with directions/sketches/photos of the examples. There are a bunch of great options, but I currently get the Boy Crazy Kit (boy-friendly papers and topics) and just subscribed to the Generations Kit (usually these are more seasonal/ holiday themed). I also almost always purchase an extra kit or two from their overstocks or from their Super Saver Kit Club to add to my kit box each month, just depending on what I love and will use. I used to get the big, beautiful kits like some mentioned above and while I loved them, my stage in life right now calls for something different. I take a crazy amount of photos. I need two pagers to help me get the best of the best of those photos documented. I have a three year old boy, a traveling for work husband, and very limited scrapping time. I'm scrapping a lot more themed events like zoo trips and Halloween parties and the like where I love to use the cutesy and themed papers. I don't use the feminine lines and colors that often tend to be in other kits right now. The SG kits I'm getting help fill those needs! I love that the kits use new, current product. They use brands I tend towards loving anyway, like Simple Stories, Echo Park, authentique, Carta Bella, etc. Another thing I love so very much is I can throw in anything I want from their online store, and it ships with my kits with no additional shipping. It's like running into an LSS and just grabbing a few sheets of the newest line that just came in! I love it. Plus I can add one little thing at a time if I want and have all month before my kit ships to add goodies & shop. Pricing is competitive and they run good sales, too. The customer service I've received has been outstanding. Almost every order has had a handwritten note or thank you or smiley face or something on my packing list. Nothing has ever been missing from my orders or kit packages. Packaging is safe and careful (never had bent corners or anything). Communication has been excellent and responsive. I honestly can't say enough good things about them. If you're a page kit gal (and I realize not everyone likes this format) or have and use their sketchbooks, check them out And feel free to ask me questions!

I have subbed to several kits. My very first one was SC's PL kit when it first debuted. After 6 months I quit. It just wasn't my style and after a while I became disenchanted with the whole SC sorority vibe. I then subbed to Gossamer Blue PL kit and loved them. Very much! I would receive my kit 2 days after it shipped, which was also the very day it was released. I was able to add scrapbooking items at no extra shipping charge. I love that their SB kit has a sampling of many different company's new releases. It helped me see what else was out there. Customer Service was top notch. I always received immediate responses from the owner and she was always kind and appreciative of my business. I've subbed to Scraptastic and like them a lot too. But I got bored with some of the repetition of the design elements by the same designer. Ali's stamp kit got my business for 6 months. I love her videos. They are worth every penny. But I just couldn't find the time to commit to watching the videos and making layouts and doing PL. Plus after a while I found it harder and harder to use her stamps. I need more value in a stamp set. I can't buy it if I can't use it over and over. Some of her sentiments seem so specific to that theme which makes me struggle using them again. I thought about subbing to her PL kit but I'm holding off a while. I'd like to see what direction her business goes after all of the SC train wreck settles down. I'm hoping she disengages from them. My newest obsession is Felicity Jane. I have loved every month but I'm on a budget so I haven't subbed. Yet. I had a few questions about FJ and the owner replied to me right away. I bought their Oct kit on Monday and it should be here today. I cannot wait!!! Thanks to you DinCA for talking to me about it. I'm probably going to sub after I see the reveal!

I have subbed to Quite a few in the past. Overall, I liked Studio Calico (before the changes) and Hip Kit the best. I still like SC when they have a good kit that is more masculine (think Odyssey) but I haven't liked the majority of their kits lately. I had a great experience with Hip Kit. Their owner was very sweet when I decided to cancel - only bc kits were piling up. It is a great kit and was very happy with it. I have also had good experiences with Scraptastic and Gossamer Blue in the past. They were just less my style. I may try FJ but they seem to be kind of feminine at times. If she made two kits a month - one masculine and one feminine - I would be all over it! I like her style - just wish it was more useable for me. ETA- after looking at the sneaks for FJ and watching an unboxing video for last month, I decided to sub... I think the one floral paper made the kit seem feminine but all in all, it was fairly neutral and next months kit looks good based on sneaks...

I agree 100% with Alissa 103! I use to sub with SG but got so far behind with my pages and the kits kept coming. So I decided to take a break from subbing until I get caught up. In the meantime, I still go online occasionally and order a few of their kits, especially when they're on sale!!

@scrappymom and meganliane you'll have to give us a review after your FJ kits arrive. I also like the look of FJ and have heard great things about the CS, just not entirely sure about all the exclusive product again. I quite like a mix of manufacturers.

So the package arrived yesterday and it was wrapped up like a beautiful gift. Gorgeous tissue paper wrapped with a big black bow. The owner hand wrote a thank you note on a tag! I absolutely loved everything in there. I must have looked at everything a dozen times. I was really surprised to see a double set of papers. Then I remembered there was a special that if you bought a kit or signed up for the sub you get a free paper pack. Super excited about that! I'm also a bit leery about signing up for a kit club with only exclusives. But I really love the papers she designs. They are right up my alley and I can't find any other company that makes something similar. I feel like I would have to pick and choose from various lines to get the same look in her kit. And I love that you get a large stamp set and they are pretty versatile. The embellishments seem to change enough for me not to become bored. So all in all I've decided to sub and if there are other lines out there that I love I'll just pick things up here and there.

Jen Schow does unboxing videos on YouTube and it is kind of what pushed me over the edge to sub. I do like a mix of manufactures usually as well so we will see... I just think it is hard to find papers in the clean/graphic/classic designs that she has and I seem to use those papers the most when Studio Calico had those in their kits...

I have been meaning to hop on this thread and give my review too, and just now found a few free minutes to leave my 2 cents After dropping my SC PL sub, I signed up for a 3 month with Cocoa Daisy. October was my first kit. I just finished up my September pages and used up my last SC kit I haven't started in on my October kit from CD yet, but thought I could still share my initial impressions of the kit. SC turned me into a paper snob and I have loads of BH PL branded cards that I know will never get used now that I have experienced heavier weight cards. CD weren't as heavy, but still a nice weight. The thing I noticed was how smooth the paper is and how much more crisp and vibrant the colors are compared to SC. I am actually hoping that the slightly thinner cards will work better in my typewriter anyhow. The designs were a little bit repetitive like someone else already mentioned and it did seem kind of odd that they didn't put the alternate color schemes on the front and back of the same cards like I am used to at SC. I did recall there being a misprint of the 4x6 kit cards onto 3x4's, so I think they must have thrown those into the kits as well which made it seem even more repetitive than it would have been otherwise. The other odd thing was that they did 2 cards with the exact image of the phrase stamp that came with the kit. So I really have no need to use both of them. The colors were consistent throughout the kit, so putting together spreads will be easy. But I do miss the cards being a little more eclectic like SC's kit (sometimes maybe too much though)- so it is from one extreme to the other. There were nice embellishments and a new to me alpha style (which was nice compared to SC using the same alpha over and over and just changing the color). There were some neat original labels and such on a sheet in the kit too (reminded me of what I would have to add in a printable from SC). And I didn't realize it when I subbed, but I also got an email with links to digital files for the kit as well (haven't really even looked at those yet actually). I did get some extra ephemera, phrase stickers, etc. to include. I guess the perks of them using a fair amount of existing product lines is that I can easily add to my kit if I want. I wasn't too sure about November from the sneaks. But after seeing the full kit last night I am feeling a little better about it. I was really thrown off at first by the non-traditional fall colors in the kit. But the themes are still there that you would expect for the holiday and time of the year. I do have a son and daughter with birthdays next month, so the bright pinks and aqua/teal will probably work out even better for me than I am anticipating. Happy to see 2 alphas in it as well So far customer service has been pretty good. They made a mistake and accidently sent me a September kit when I signed up, but I wasn't supposed to start until October. They just asked me to write refused on it and put it back out for the US Mail (so better than the last SC shipping debacle). And my October kit came with a nice little welcome note and a free stamp which was a nice surprise. Not sure yet if I will continue with them past my 3 months but excited to have options! I ordered my DD kit from Citrus Twist and am excited to see how that goes. I had also ordered a few shop items at the same time and they contacted me to see if I wanted to pay to ship those now or wait and have them ship with my kit for no additional charge. I thought that was nice of them to offer. Lord knows SC wouldn't have been able to keep track of that and hold my purchases to ship at once. I am definitely keeping my eye on what Scraptastic and Paper Camellia have for PL too. Love hearing everyone's experiences with the different clubs after spending so long married to my old subscription!

I belong to The Planner Society too. Love this kit. I also subscribe to Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin kit. I love to make cards and this kit is primarily cards but also has 3D items throughout the year. It's pretty inexpensive - $19.95 + tax (shipping included). Everything comes with the kit each month. All you need to have is a pair of scissors.

Love hearing everyone's reviews! I've also had great experiences with Citrus Twist. I have a 3 month trial sub going at the moment and my 2nd kit just arrived. Nice selection of current products from a range of manufacturers which is one of the things I've missed with SC. Trina is so helpful and friendly. She emailed to let me know this month's kit would be delayed a couple of days while they waited for one extra item I'd ordered to arrive and asked whether I wanted the kit sent ahead. It's those little things which really matter, I think. CT also do a small welcome gift when you first sign up which I think is a nice touch. Lot of great kit club options out there, so I think it's just a matter of finding one which fits your style. I'm not into planners at all, but I agree the Planner Society kit is fabulous scraphappyinjax!

I've only ever subscribed to Studio Calico kits and, after they discontinued the card kit, and because the scrapbook and planner kit are so thin for the money, I'm down to my PL sub, which I still love very much. I love SC designs so I'm holding on to the PL sub. Even if I won't do PL next year. But I love to make mini albums so I'm using the cards for that. I've tried the Messy Box, once. The one with the roller phrase stamp. I got it just because I wanted the stamp. Hopped on a sub and immediately hopped off again. The other months haven't been my style and even less so in the latest months when I think those kits have been looking thinner and thinner, so I don't think I will buy that one again. Ali Edwards' story stamps. I have them all. Been subscribing from the very beginning but still cannot bring myself to commit because of the cancellation fees. I love the stamps and I always love Ali's class content. I must admit I'm way behind on those monthly videos. Also got a couple of the story kits on sale and they are really nice. Signed up for Cocoa Daisy planner kit yesterday and I'm already loving it. I never thought I'd sign up for any other kit club than SC (related) but put a bunch of super cute cats on pretty planner pages and I'm sold! The customer service there seems to be totally awesome. They got back to me within a couple of hours and gave me all the help I could wish for to get started.

I started years ago with, my all time favorite now closed, My Favorite Memories. Tried Little Red Scrapbook, 3 scrapy boys, and Scrapology (I think it was called. It was good!)
Left kits for a while, then came back to Scraptastic and SC. Enjoyed that for 2 years...I actually let go of Scraptastic for a while and was just with SC, but SC started to lose value big time, so I quit a year ago and resubbed with Scraptastic.
Boy am I glad I made that decision! Scraptastic is good value, I like the choice of 2 kits and some of the exclusive products. I'm sticking with them.

I have had the SC PL and scrapbook kit for almost 1.5 years but will stop after this month. I have enjoyed using the kits but found that sometimes there were pieces that are difficult for me to use (plastic deer heads, for example . I liked that some of the elements were new and interesting and enjoy looking at other community members' layouts in the gallery. I also subscribe to Paper Camellia PL (I can't remember what it is called but it is a pocket scrapbooking kit) and scrap kit. I occasionally get an add on as well. I love these kits and they are packed. I get to see a lot of the new products from some of my favorite companies. I enjoy the mix of papers and embelishments. I find that spreads that I do with those kits come together easily. I would totally recommend the company as the owner emails you directly if there are any questions and customer service has been great. I am not such an easy case as I moved to Spain last year and there were no problems at all. She helped set my address. That is different than SC where customer service basically told me that the address I had would not work (it did...they were just incompetent). I love watching process videos where people use Hip Kits as well. I have considered getting something from them and love the fact that they have a mixed media type kit.

One thing I've noticed is that while the papers and the cut-apart stickers are exclusive, she usually includes at least a couple of items from other manufacturers. I also love that it's cohesive and seasonal but not theme based necessarily. I promise I am not in any way affiliated with the club. I just really love it, too!

Can you tell me more about the Freckled Fawn embellishment kit? So far I've come to these conclusions:
+ embellishments only would work great with my stash of cards + i would love to support a small manufacturer with fresh ideas + i need some happy mail + november & october kits look so pretty
- international shipping is pretty steep - some kits are a bit too childish and colourful - some kits seem thin
Can you tell something about subscriber extras? Do they make it worth it?

I really wish Scraptastic or any of the other kit clubs would have just a "Project Life" card subscription. I don't really want to embellish my spreads with anything other than cards or very flat embellishments, pretty much only letter stickers. I just went on to Scraptastic's site. Love the cards, but you can't even buy them digitally.
