Next weekend - I have not scrapped in a long time - My goal is to get at least 100 pages done. This wknd I plan to organize and get ready for it so I can be as productive as possible. I plan to print all my pictures I want to scrap. I will then get enough lg ziplock bags and put pictures according to occasion and then add paper and embellies. That way I can grap a ziplock get layout done and move to the next ziplock. I am hoping if I am somewhat organized I will get more done. I tend to take way too much stuff to crops and get so overwhelmed I get nothing done.
In 3 days I should get 100 pages done right? say it can be done
I also do not plan to buy anything new - I have enough scrapbook supplies that I could scrap the rest of my life and only need to buy adhesives. I know my stuff may be outdated and not have the newest paper or embellies but at one time they were new and good enough to buy then so I am using what I have.
If anyone has any helpful hints or suggestions for a successful and productive weekend I'd love to hear it
Thank You in advance
**UPDATED**
So I took my unorganized self to the 3 day crop and had a lot of fun - made new friends bought new supplies I don't/didn't need - My plan was to get a lot of 2page layouts put into ziplocks with everything i would need to pull out a ziplock and scrap-a-way. Well that was a good idea but it didn't happen. Life got in the way and I was not able to get anything done. so the night before the crop I was throwing stuff together none of which had a rhyme or a reason. I did manage to do around 8 layouts and I did work on a summer album kit that I bought this weekend. It is really cute and a lot of fun. I met 9 wonderful ladies and we all plan to come back next year and sit together so that was a plus. Next year my eyes won't be bigger than my ability
I will spend the next year getting my unorganized scraproom organized so next year I can do more

That sounds like a huge endeavor for three days. One thing you can do is have Pinterest board you can access or pull a lot of sketches for inspiration. Do you make titles or use alphabets? Will you journal later? I completed 2 fifty page books at a crop once, but most of my pages were started and all I had to do was add titles and pictures.

Great things to think about Nancy - Now you got me thinking - I will include titles and alphabets in each ziplock. My friend is going with me and she is taking her brand new Cricut Gold (I'll take some cartridges too)
I could do journaling once I am home as well

Wow, 100 layouts is ambitious! Good luck. I'm lucky if I get 15 done at a weekend crop Even though you're packing up page kits, it might be helpful to bring an extra stash of basic colors of cardstock that you tend to use often. That way if something you packed doesn't look quite right or you decide to mat a photo in white to help it stand out, etc., you have have some to pull out. I usually bring kraft, white and my favorite cream colored cardstock. Another thing I bring are all of my enamel dots since I tend to use them often. I just put them in a little Iris container and pull them out as needed. If you have another often used generic embellishment like that, find a way to take them. I bet you'll reach for them often. Report back with how many pages you get done!

LOL, I couldn't get a hundred layouts done even if I worked on them every day for a month! I'm a pretty slow scrapper though. Are you using sketches or just winging it? When I make up kits from my stash, I usually try to go through and choose a sketch, the papers and cardstock I'm considering and any related embellishments, etc. Even then it takes me forever to make a layout. Good luck and have fun!

Good for you!! 100 is a lot, but I have seen it done. My personal most for a 4 day crop was 21 pages so I am not a good judge!!
Have a great time'

As mentioned in a previous post about crops/retreats...bring headphones so you can focus/concentrate on your scrapping!! And most important of all....bring lots of adhesives!!
I try to organize my weekend project to one subject like a family event (wedding, birthdays) or a vacation (Disney, cruise) so I can limit my scrappy stuff (like paper, embellishment, etc.) to just that event. As much as I plan, I try not to put the pressure of setting a goal of getting "X" number of pages done so I can also enjoy the company of my fellow scrappers and relaxing!!
Have a great time at your retreat and let us know how many pages you completed!!

A retreat sounds like fun -- I don't have any more real life scrapping friends, they've moved on to other things. I loved the couple weekends I went on more than 10 years ago.
Bring some sticky notes or journaling cards with you. You may not want to take the time to journal, but while you're doing the layout and looking at the pictures, jot down what you're thinking for later journaling.
I'm the slowest scrapper on the planet -- 100 layouts in a weekend is completely out of my reach. I bet I could get 10 done if I were really organized. Have a great time!!!

Very slow scrapper here. I'm going on an annual weekend retreat with eight scrappin' friends November 6-8. If I'm prepared and lucky, I'll get a dozen pages done. We eat, drink, talk, watch movies, walk.... and scrap. It's such fun. Enjoy your weekend, shecallsmeana! Let us know how it goes.

Don't let your goal of 100 pages stress you out. Remember, the crop is supposed to be FUN.
I'm going to a 3 day crop next weekend, too. One tip for you - if I lose my creativity mojo, I just scraplift a layout of my own that I really like.
Be sure to bring an album and plenty of page protectors to safely transport all those lovely layouts back home!

I am going to a retreat next weekend too- where are you going? I will be in Rhode Island. 100 pages- very ambitious but I bet if you prep well- you can do it! Can you do a page in 10-15 minutes? I chat way too much to get much done-- but I am hoping to make some cards for our Christmas card exchange here! I have ideas -- just need to set them in motion! Have a wonderful time!

It can be done if you are very well organized, which it sounds like you are. Because in reality you add all your organizational time to come up with how much time it takes to do 100 pages. If it takes you 3 days to organize and 3 days to put the pages together then you have 6 days to do 100 pages really. That comes to 16 pages a day. Since it is a retreat, that means 30 pages each day of the retreat plus time to eat, shop, take breaks, walk around, talk, etc. If you do one page every 30 minutes you need to have 10 hours of scrapping time each day.
I have done it and it means you have to be willing to get it on the page and move on. Try to journal right there and then because otherwise you have to go back and fuss with that.

Thank You in advance I've done it! Do your kit prepping in phases. It helps make it go faster. For Instance, bag photos first. If you have any specific embellishments meant to go on specific layouts (themed) throw those in at that time. Next pull out all your paper. I try to put 2 sheets each of 1 color cardstock and 2-3 patterns. If the paper is double sided, even better for layering. Rifle through your scraps at this time, too, adding any that co-ordinate. I usually call it a night at this point. Customize your paper choices to your style. (I layer but don't mat usually. I generally start w a cardstock base, so my paper formula is based on those factors. Decide your formula.) The next day I work on embellishments. I pack the kits heavier than I generally embellish so I have variety. I try to include: 1- ribbon, trim, or border bling or metallic any other embellishments that will work day three I add journaling cards and titles, either letters or I tend toward premade titles. I love project life cards with sayings for titles. I take all my ink pads, stickles and technique tools and just use as needed.

Oh and I take all my cardstock and pattern paper. That way I can add more layering if I seem short on embellishments.

Another tip, pack all the layouts you KNOW you will complete quickly to grab first. I do this with the layouts I have a very clear, definite idea of what I want the layout to look like. Layouts that won't require much thought, just doing. Other layouts that fall in this category are first day of school/ school photos and sport photos from the last year. I use a very simple format for those layouts that are simply the photos, a title and a few simple themed embellishments. Those layouts go quickly. By completing these first it gives me a nice stack quickly that excites and motivates me.
Likewise, holiday two page layouts with lots of photos befuddle me. I use themey embellishments on those and they are not my favorite layouts. They take longer because of the multiple photos and themey embellishments are actually harder for me to use. So those kits are placed so I grab them last. By the time I get to them I am toward the end of my weekend and am in fairly decent scrapping rhythm.

tduby1 seems like the crop master to me. All great ideas. For me 100 pages would be highly ambitious. But if it were me, I would do my journaling on the computer as I'm picking photos, even if I hand write it the journaling on the layout. If I had an idea about page layout, I'd do a sketch to put into the bag or print out a layout design (in a small size) if you'd rather use a scraplift. Then I would pick my papers/embellishments for my bags based upon my story/mood. This is probably the most time consuming part of creating for me.

100 pages in 3 days super ambitious but I guess it depends on how you scrap.
Personally I have to be super happy with my pages and I like some embellishing, sewing, stamping on them. Others don't scrap like that but for me I am more about being happy with the end result then just getting a bunch of pages in my book and for me to do a 100 pages they would have to be super simple because I am not a super fast scrapper plus I like the social aspect of a crop.
I was at a 3 day crop last weekend and I managed to get 9 layouts done and I had made up kits beforehand and I got 8 pl pages half way put together. For me that was a lot to accomplish. The lady next to me got about 25 pages done she was doing a Europe trip she had such gorgeous photos and she cut them in circles and ovals ugh and she got at least 10 photos per page, they were really simple pages but she was super happy with them but for me I am not into that.
I know when the other scrappers saw my pages they were thinking and some even said wow you put a lot of time into your pages lol.
I made up kits by first going on my pinterest boards and taking sketches/layouts I liked and printing them out in a 4x4 square and pasting them to a 4x6 index card, listed on the card what I needed for the layout cs/pp/embellishments/stamps/tools ie dies/alpha color etc .
I then found photos to go with the design ie vert or horz photos and then edited and got them printed. I then took my photos and matched up paper and embellies to them and put them in those 12x12 bags from recollections. I made note of what punches and tools I needs and packed those separate.
I know I will never get all my photos scrapped and for me the hobby is more an artistic outlet then getting memories into a book, wish I scrapped in a more simple fashion but I have too much stuff to use up haha!

Scrapping many pages and not scrapping simple are not mutually exclusive. Your post kinda gave me the impression you think those getting a lot done in a weekend must be scrapping super simple CM style pages that they don't really love. Just slapping pages together and throwing them in a book for page counts. Fo me that couldn't be further from the truth. I usually do between 80-100 in a weekend. My last weekend away I did 60+ because I Had to run home and see dd off for homecoming (venue was 30 mins from home). I absolutely love my pages and wouldn't necessarily call them super simple by any means. In fact at every retreat I am by far one the least simplist scrapers and get tons of traffic over to look. and I don't skimp on the social aspect either. My cousins/sisters/I do 2 weekend retreats a year. We take time to dress up and to go out to a dinner out at least one of the nights. I also take several walks around the block, inviting a different cousin each time so we have some "catch up time". I stay up much later than normally and do rise early. in my early years of scrapping I wasn't as productive. I agonized way to much over every single page and those are the pages i like least. For me the change came with kit making and finding my style nearly simultaneously. My comfort in my style makes kit making move quickly, as well as making my pages.

When I said super simple I said it in regards to me and being able to get a 100 pages done and that they would have to be super simple because I am a slow scrapper.
To me it is about being happy with what I create and what I want out of a crop and I am happy with my 10 or 15 pages!
I think a person that does a 100 pages at a 3 day crop and does a lot of socializing is doing pages that are less involved. Simple doesn't equal bad I am just saying that my pages take me longer and I don't scrap fast.
I am going to a crop in a few weeks where we are given the layout ahead of time and told what to bring for the pages some are doubles most are singles and they are giving us 25 minutes or less per page to and we are doing 20 + layouts. That will be fast cropping for me so for me to do 60 or more pages in a weekend would be crazy for me but glad you can do that for your retreats.

I am curious what your definition of "less involved" (ie: simple pages) because I really don't think the majority of my pages fall in either of those categories. Certainly, I do do some more simple pages but the majority of my pages involve lots of paper and patterns, layering and embellishments. feel free to look through my gallery (but be aware that last batch of pics were all taken crooked, lol) and give me your opinion if these fall under simple, less involved pages.

Sounds like fun! I'd be lucky if I completed 10 pages in a weekend! You'd think I would get more done, but I am so happy about being free of all responsibility that I can't focus! When I do go, I bring about 20 "vintage" SC kits and tons of pictures. I also bring most of my embellishment boxes. More adhesive than I could possibly use in a year. Earphones. And lots of gum to keep me from snacking on all of the junk! Have a great time! Link your layouts when you get back so we can praise them!

I went to a weekend crop a few weeks ago and made my DD for this year so all I have to do is pop in the pictures and journal. I also did about 8 pages with no journaling. I brought my Cricut along and a little side table as we had extra room at the end of the table. It takes me time to look thru all the manuals to find the item to cut. I had a blast that weekend seeing my scrapping friends from all around the state.
Have a great weekend!

100 pages is ambitious!
I was at a retreat last weekend, was there for about 2 full days, and during that time I did 35 pages, but my pages are plain (mostly pictures and titles, some matting), and that was a lot for me. I had planned out background papers and sorted the pictures before I went, and cut titles, tags, etc at the crop. I did most of the pictures that I had planned out to crop, but I did have more and plenty of paper just in case.
Take plenty of adhesive, I went through a lot of adhesive, more than I thought, glad I had so much with me.
