It is almost here ~ the big game between #5 LSU and #8 Alabama. Alabama is a 5 1/2 point favorite. Weather conditions in Alabama leading up to the game include lots of rain. I hate when that happens.
Who does your team play?
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

I was hoping K State could beat Baylor tonight. Looks like that's not going to happen. Baylor's replacement QB has quite an arm.
Saturday will have quite a few good games.

The Hawkeyes are on the road against Indiana at 2:30. Unless I go outside and sit in my car and listen to the game, I'm going to miss it as I'm going to a yearly scrapbook crop I go to with a bunch of friends. Okay, who am I fooling? I'll probably go outside and sit in my car and listen to the game. I'll need a break by then anyway. I'm not even going to speculate how the game will go. Indiana is 4-4, but they were a handful for Ohio State and their offense is faster than we've seen, BUT, our defense rocks, so I'm really hoping that Desmond King will step in and take the national lead for interceptions, he's almost there...but it's just wishful thinking on my part, when in actuality, for the next four games I'll be holding my breath, regardless of who we play. Any given Saturday. GO HAWKS! and dare I say.....let's see 9-0!!

I am SO ready for Saturday! My #1 Tigers (CLEMSON) play FSU. Always a tough game- hopefully easier this year!!! Dude, when you play FSU it is never easy. For the first time in three years, I am going to watch a game that I don't have high confidence that we will win. This game is HUGE for Clemson...ranked #1 in who knows how long, coming into a game double digit favorites and playing for not only the chance to play in the ACC championship but go to the playoffs as well. The pressure on the Tigers is crazy. We come into the game with an insane amount of young talent, but with a lose under our belts and the pressure has been taken off our team. We come in healthy (hello Dalvin Cook) and ready to quietly take care of business. Now, do I think it will be enough? We shall see. I have also seen the weather is going to be nasty which favors the underdog. Lots of stuff play into our favor so we will play the game and see who comes out on top. I am looking forward to the LSU/Bama game. I truly hope that LSU curb stomps Alabama just to put to rest the whole playoff thing. I really, really hate the way CFB operates with the whole committee thing. No way should Alabama be ranked higher than some of the undefeated teams. Thankfully, there is a lot of football left to play.

Oklahoma plays Iowa State at home. It's Dad's Day at OU so we are heading to the game and looking forward to spending some time w/ our daughter, who is a junior at OU.
Oklahoma should beat Iowa State, but you never know. After this game we really have a tough three weeks of football-Baylor, TCU & Oklahoma State.

So, just a quick note...and something I haven't run into it before. Play by play commentator? A woman!!! As evidenced by this weekly thread, women make up a good portion of the fans for college ball, and it is about time that a woman calls the game. But, I admit it is taking a little getting used to. Damn, wonder what that says about me?

Not yet. That was about the ugliest game I have ever seen in my life. I will take the win, but good gravy-what in the hell was that? Penalties, sacks, dropped balls and that extra point??? I almost had to turn the tv off.

Oh, and cadoodlebug? Now I have to deal with the texts from LSU boy about that mud ugly game. I hate to hurt your feelings, but I sure do hope y'all lose. Not because of the polls or anything, but just to shut the boy up.

Yeah, but you definitely wouldn't want to foot the bill for feeding him. I think he is a little nervous too. Our texts this morning started off with me asking him how he was doing on the fabulous football day and he said it will be perfect when Florida loses and LSU wins. It has gone down hill from there...but I get the feeling he is a bit on pins and needles for the outcome.

If you lose, it makes our win against you less impressive.

Penn State almost had a come-from-behind to beat Northwestern, but in the end the better team won, and it wasn't us. I don't like to criticize individual players, but just let me say that I hope our QB Christian Hackenberg does leave PSU early for the NFL. He was dynamite with our former coach (Bill O'Brien) who recruited him, but not so much with James Franklin's program. I'd really like to see what one of Franklin's recruits could do in that position. I wasn't able to watch any of your game; was the commentator Beth Mowins? She called a Penn State game a week or more ago. I've also seen her do many, many basketball games. I'm glad to see a woman doing the job, but I have to admit that her voice grates my nerves.

Her voice was a bit annoying, but I couldn't tell if it was because I wasn't used to a female voice (beyond the interviewers on the field) doing the play by play or because her voice really was annoying.

LSU is playing awful against Bama. I hear they are fitting Lundquist and Danielson for Alabama cheerleading outfits.

Cadoodlebug... it's funny to hear you say that. They usually have nothing supportive to say about Bama. At all.
