Kathy, I would almost have what you are having because it is easier than deciding what to cook for my extraordinarily picky MIL, who "claims" to be lactose intolerant, hates pork, is sick of chicken, thinks ground turkey is devil's food, is diabetic but eats whatever she wants and then gripes because her blood sugar is out of whack and blames the doc for the wrong meds, blah-blah-blah! I think I am going with homemade vegetable soup minus the meat (I have a beef allergy and that is THE only meat she wants), salad and a crust bread with "oleo" (her type of butter). I extremely like that side of dilaudid! The only issue is being sick with it. Sorry you are feeling so bad.! I wonder if faking illness will get her to go home early? ??

akathy I hope you are feeling better soon. Sorry! It's my first day of the 21 day fix...I'll be having some chicken and veggies for dinner. I made some chicken soup for DH. It's been cool and rainy all day, and he had to work today so soup should hit the spot when he gets home for dinner.

akathy, I'm so so sorry that you're having a flare. We call what you're currently doing hospital 101. It's awful and so very draining. Sending you calm way down tummy vibes. I can start the thread tmw if you would rather just sleep it off. Take good loving care of yourself and enjoy that dilauded. I'm making chicken tenders, steamed rice and probably spinach.

Well, that doesn't sound very good Kathy. Feel better soon!
I have taco soup simmering. Will top with sour cream and tortilla chips. I purchased a French silk pie, too. My ds is supposed to stop in with his mini-doxie puppy, since dil is working at the hospital this weekend.

Oh, no akathy; I hope you're feeling better soon!
I've got a pot roast in the oven, been in there for 3 1/2 hours so far. Damn this house smells awesome! Gonna have some mashed potatoes, corn and crusty bread for everyone else, I'll add a salad.
This is just the perfect autumn day for this roast. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day: low 50's, sunshine, and plenty of trees with color on them still.

So sorry, Kathy!! Hope you are feeling better very soon!!
I stayed home from church this morning. Woke up with a head cold. Ugh, this is the first sign of a cold in our house since school started so I am praying no one else gets my germs.
It's my father in love's birthday. We're going over for dinner. Spaghetti, garlic bread, green salad and fluff. Cake is going to be german chocolate.

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, Kathy!
I've cooked big dinners the past few nights (the in-laws are in town and staying with us) so tonight everyone has their choice of leftover beef stew...leftover chicken and biscuits...or leftover turkey and dressing!

We've had company since Thursday, so it's going to be a few days of leftovers for us. Tonight we're having leftover ham, mac & cheese, broccoli, and home-made applesauce. Apple crisp for dessert.

Hope you are on the mend soon akathy. We had leftovers tonight -- the chicken casserole, rice, and broccoli from Friday night. But last night, seven of us went to the annual German dinner at the Lutheran church. It was so good. I wish we had leftovers from that!

akathy I hope you are feeling better. I'm still in Virginia visiting with 3 of my college kids I took dd#5 to Ruby Tuesday for an early dinner. dd#4 gets back from a tournament at 9:00 and ds gets off of work at 10 so I'm not sure what dinner number 2 will entail. I'm thinking about making lasagna.

akathy, I hope you feel better soon. I was on a cleaning binge this morning and it rained (yay!) this afternoon. It was wet and cold and DH didn't feel like going to the market, so it's soup and grilled cheese. He also found our emergency company Claim Jumper frozen Apple Pie in the freezer and he's baking that for dessert.

It's rainy and cold here and I am loving it. Dinner tonight is leftover beef stew that my mom made yesterday. She also made fresh biscuits to go with it. Nobody makes biscuits like she does, they are delicious.

Well, MIL wasn't quite as difficult as I expected. I added shredded rotisserie chicken to the vegetable soup. And used the rest to make chicken salad for sandwiches using croissants. Also had make it yourself side salads. She swore it was the best soup ever and didn't know that chicken could be used in place of beef in vegetable soup and was actually BETTER! Hallelujah! Akathy, did you slip her some of your dilaudid by any chance? she claims she has eaten so much she is going to bed early and will be reading until she falls asleep! I need to patent this soup! LOL Now I can watch Walking Dead without fear of giving her a heart attack! Anyone want this recipe, guaranteed to knock you inlaws into the twilight zone!
