I have done potpourri in the past like this: potpourriOne year I gave a red oven mitt with a whisk that had Hershey chocolates in them & it said "I Whisk you a Merry Christmas" it included a red spoon & spatula. whiskI am thinking of getting bath bombs this year from Lush with a tag that says "You're the Bomb" I am also going with an idea I got from here & putting some raffia in a mason jar with nail polish & a file & a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure.

I'm not sure. I would probably pick the apples out of that recipe (I do not like apple cinnamon) but simmering spices on the stove smell lovely, and I bet orange cinnamon clove is divine. My concern, though, would be for coworkers who had small children or curious cats who might accidentally knock a slow cooker off the counter. Maybe that is overly concerned though!
How many coworkers do you need gifts for, and when you say "creative," is that because you are ultimately planning to make them?

I think it would depend on the individual person. While I would not mind getting one of those, the likelihood that I would actually use it would be almost zero. I know one of my co-workers would likely use it, two others no, and the other 3 I have no idea. Only you know your people.
Personally, while I appreciate the gesture, I don't want someone to give me a gift, just for the sake of giving me a gift. I don't need anymore things to give away, throw away, or donate. I am giving my co-worker gift cards to El Pollo Loco. I know every one of them will eats there. The creative part is that I am making the gift card holders.
Sorry, not much help.

One year I gave all of my gal pals a pair of fuzzy socks rolled up and stuffed into a diecut cardstock cupcake wrapper and stuck an eos lip balm in the top so it looked like a frosted cupcake with a cherry on top. The whole thing was wrapped in a clear cello bag with pretty ribbon tied around the top and it was very cute. I got the eos in a multipack at Costco very reasonably priced and picked up the socks when I saw them on sale somewhere for under a couple dollars a pair. The cupcake wrappers I made myself with my electronic cutter.
Last year I made everyone (some women, some men) jars of homemade caramel sauce. It was a hit with everybody and the best part was that it only takes about six minutes in the microwave to make! I put it into pint sized mason jars, made cute labels for the top and tied a ribbon around the lid. You could easily do a jar of hot fudge sauce too and put a one of each into a decorative carrier.

Your idea is beautiful and I would appreciate the gesture, but it wouldn't make it into my home because we're not fond of many scents. You know your coworkers, though, and this might be the perfect gift!

No, and honestly, anything "smelly" would hit the trash before it hit my door- allergies, migraines triggered by strong smells - not just me, but other family members and guests over the holidays. A gift of scented items tells me that my coworker doesn't know me or doesn't care.

I have done lottery tickets before-a lottery ticket for the next draw and a little something like a pint size jar of hershey kisses.
I always worked in places that typically don't pay well, and those lottery tickets were something that everyone would get really excited about. I would hand them out and every one would spend the next however long talking and scheming about what they would do with the money. It was a fun couple of days of anticipation.
It's like giving a little bit of hope for the holidays. And it works for everyone-inexpensive, all faiths, all ages, and both men and women.

I work with both men and women, and I have found that food-related gifts are the best bet. We are good with homemade stuff in my office, but you would have to judge that aspect for yourself. Anyway, I've done hot pepper jelly (with a cute little tag with ways to use it), vanilla, spiced hot tea mix, and this year I'm probably doing a spicy beer mustard. The jelly and mustard both involve actual canning, so you'd have to have canning equipment for those.

I wrap boxes of Puffs tissue. Everyone gets their own for cold/flu season. Normally they all come to my desk for the "good" Kleenex (Puffs).

I think the potpourri is nice, but like many others, I couldn't have it in my house because of allergies. Plus, scents are very personal. I would find something else.

I work with all women, the last few years I've made a sugar scrub. Last year it was a light lemon scent.

Please noting scented. for all the reasons listed above. WE have a scent free work place as scent triggers many health issues for people.
Thanks for asking Annette

My favorite co-worker gift I received was a manicure set. It included the standard nail clippers, cute nail file, tweezers where the top portion looked like a girl, two mini nail polishes, all fixed in a cute and portable bag. I still have it in my purse (except the nail polishes).
I work with all men though and I think I'm going with a Starbucks gift card with homemade card holders.

We have a Starbucks kiosk in the hospital where we work, I am getting my coworker a gift card. She loves their tea.
