I love the way they teach the science behind cooking. And their product reviews.
And the way the people on their program look real. Chris Kimball is such an unglamorous fellow!
What cooking programs do you love?
ETA: Why the 2 different programs? Cook's Country came 2nd, but it's the same people, right?

I LOVE ATK and we subscribe to Cook's Illustrated. Best cooking magazine by far!!
I've been making ATK's guacamole for years (with a few tweaks) and am constantly complimented on it. LOL...unglamourous is so true!!!

I don't watch the show, but I have a bunch of cookbooks from Cook's Illustrated, Cook's Country, and America's Test Kitchen, and receive both magazines (CI and CC)

Me! Me! Me! I have loved their different shows for years, subscribe to their emails and have several of the cookbooks.
I love Mr. Kimball's emails...you can tell he loves his home state!! A lot of the emails come with pictures from in and around his home and the scenery is lovely. I love the product reviews too!! More than once it has saved me from making a costly mistake!

I never remember when ATK is on, but when I catch it, I like it.
I subscribe to Cook's Illustrated too. I love their product recommendations and tips. I have found recipes that are great.
I have cooked more in the last few years, and it makes me so aware that it does actually help to learn the science of what works and why. I think I have become a much more confident cook.

I am also a fan. Years ago I paid a monthly fee to belong online, which was to give me access to their recipes. Then they created a second online membership to Cooks country. Every recipe I looked for said I needed to pay for thus second membership in order to see the recipe. This annoyed me so I quit. But I do still watch the shows. I like their explanations if why something works or not, and the tool reviews.

I LOVE these shows as well, I try to TIVO or watch them every week.
My fav. segment is the "gadget" segment or the one where they pick the best brand.

I love ATK. I have 3 of their cookbooks. Love them because they are very detailed just like the show. My favorite is the healthy coking one.

Every recipe I've used from them is a success. My youngest son loves watching the show with me. He loves cooking and science so this show really appeals to him.

Love the show and the magazine. I just made their recipe for Latin Chicken last night. It is delicious, but very labor intensive. I spent an hour chopping measuring and getting ingredients together. Then when it was time to cook, it still took an hour and a half to finish it up.

I'm a big ATK fan. I have a number of their recipe books. I believe ATK taught me to cook. I was ok and could do the basics before, but once I started watching the show and getting the recipe books, I learned what makes a recipe work. It made me confident in my cooking to the point where I have no problem throwing a new recipe together off the cuff and I know it will work.
I also love how the vast majority of their recipes use ingredients that are relatively inexpensive and available to me in my rural area. A lot of the trendy chefs don't do that. They seem to think trendy or hard to find ingredients are what sets their recipes apart. If there is something that is hard to find in an ATK recipe they will tell you why it's needed or what you can substitute. I love that.

My dh is a real comfort food/Ladies Home Journal recipe kind of guy. His mom had like 5 recipes she rotated every day - lots of pot roast, roasted chicken, spaghetti and meatballs kind of stuff.
So that's what he likes. Cook's Country is perfect for him. I don't think I've ever made anything from there he hasn't liked.

They have changed this within the last year, so that both magazines are included in the online subscription. It looks like they also did away with the extra subscription for certain recipes that appeared in one of their lines of cookbooks.

I've never seen the tv show but dd gifted one of the books to dh this year and he is loving it. he is a scientist who enjoys cooking as a break from his usual mental work, and this book is just perfect for him. I've enjoyed the bits I've read as well.
