I ordered over $200 worth of Christmas presents yesterday from Kohl's (thanks to elaine ) and I got some really good deals. I saved over $400 and got $60 in Kohl's cash!! Again, thank you elaine! I was so excited! I received an email last night, after my order was confirmed, that 4 of the $8.99 throws were out of stock. I don't understand this. How can they confirm my order and then not have it in stock? I don't think I've ever had that happen before. Maybe I've just been lucky when ordering online before? I worked on my order for a long time to earn the Kohl's cash and get the discounts I wanted. So, my next question is: what happens with the $60 in Kohl's cash? I ordered just enough to get to the $60. Do they take some back because my order was reduced by them not having the items in stock? I'm not sure how all this works now. I added my Kohl's cash to my online wallet if that makes a difference.

Call their customer service line. Maybe they can replace your throws with a different pattern. If not, they can answer your question about the kohls cash.

Same thing happened to me so that now I'm getting one less throw and having to pay shipping. Reconfirming why I used to boycott Kohl's. Never again! Why do they have you jump through so many hoops? I hate that!

I had my order drop below $50 when they canceled one item. I just saw this on their website.
Sorry that we had to remove items or cancel your entire order! Since we had to cancel due to the merchandise being out of stock, the amount of Kohl's Cash you earned will not change.

I will not shop Kohl's online. I have had orders go through and then a day later they are like OOps sorry that item is out of stock. Always when using Kohl's cash. Thus having you lose the value of the Kcash. No, thank you. Sorry you had a bad experience. I agree with the PP that I would call and see what they can do to fix the situation.

the confirmation really just means they received your order. they haven't tried to fill it yet, and that is when they find out they are out of stock, because everyone was ordering at the same time and the stock count hadn't been updated yet. at least, that's how this issue was explained to me when I worked retail. still sucks tho, sorry you didn't get what you wanted!

I am on the opposite side of the world and can only envy your shopping opportunities, USA peas, but I honestly cannot understand, never mind condone, ANY online business that regularly disappoints its customers by stocks-outs. They have to sort out their systems, it's really not that hard. I had three orders delivered this week. Two from new to me outlets and one where I have online shopped for years. The new ones were quicker and I received full orders. My old favourite chose this week to send me a note similar to those described on that marathon GS thread so I am dumping them as of right now.

I had ordered 3 throws to pick up in the store, got a confirmation, then get an email stating 2 were no longer available. I called the store, they found the 2 missing throws in a storage trailer behind the store but 2 was all they had. Yay! I get to the cuztomer service area and they want to charge me 19.99 each for the 2 that they removed from my order because the 8.99 was an online only price. I ended up talking to a manager, showed her the emails and explained what happened 3 times. She finally told the still protesting cashier to ring them up for the online price.

I ordered 12 first thing - right before I posted - and all were available and the order shipped out several hours later. I guess, if anyone is still willing to shop at Kohl's and wants these at the Black Friday price next year, to place your order early. Not that I excuse all their over sells and cancellations at all, just that I want all the peas to get what they want at a good price.
At least they aren't cancelling Kohl's Cash - not a big consolation, though.

Exactly. Many websites now use that same wording in the confirmation emails. They will say "We have received your order., but that's it. If you check you credit card statement at that point, it may or may not show the transaction yet. And if it doesn't, it could mean that the 20 orders that came in in the moments just before yours still have first dibs on whatever stock is available. It's still such a bummer when you think you've done a great job with your shopping and then it doesn't work out. Sorry ladies! Hugs!

I have this problem with Joanne's all the time. You get an order confirmation and then later (sometimes several days later) you get a shipping notice followed up with a note saying that X and Z are out of stock and not shipped. THEN you go to the website and guess what? The out of stock items are showing as being IN stock. Grrrrrrr If you call CC they will tell you that at the moment your order was pulled the items were indeed out of stock.

I ordered 14 throws and am waiting to see how many show up. I have 8 separate tracking numbers and 7 of those 8 show the same 13 throws. The throws are awesome, but I honestly hope I'm not getting almost 100 throws!
As for ordering online to pick up in store -- the website said that the black bras I wanted were not in stock. When I went in the next morning, there were at least 3 black ones in my size in stock. When I asked about it, they gave me a lame excuse about customers probably returned them and they weren't in the system yet. Blah, blah, blah.
I WILL use my Kohl's cash because at the moment I have $60 in Kohl's cash ($45 of mine; $15 a friend gave me).

Sorry this happened to so many. They have these issues every year and so does Target but Kolhs is the worst. Even not during the holidays and a big sale I have had them both cancel stuff long after the fact. Target took six weeks and then cancels an order.
