12/13/15 We decided on Willow! Thank you everyone for your suggestions. This week was a good week, no accidents in the house. She was hating her crate & we added another one in the garage & she is delighted with it. She goes out there to sleep at night, we all sleep better! The crate in the house was the oddest thing. She would howl, cry, growl, sink her teeth in the bars & not let go! Hubby decided after about 4 days of this & me getting no sleep, to try the garage which goes against all training & our history with dogs. She has been so happy there, at night she goes out there & crawls in & settles no issues at all. I have to wake her in the morning to go outside. She is lose during the day, has a crate inside with an open door that she avoids like the plague, but it is still there for her safe zone, no matter how much she hates it!! She is already needing a collar adjustment! We think she's gained 5 lbs in about 10 days.
Not sure if I have ever shared this story...3 years ago someone came in our yard & stole our 3 year old chocolate labs, Bella & Moose. We loved them dearly and .looked for them every day for 2 years We have decided it's time for another fur baby. Hubby & I are empty nesters & have now decided to add this "tiny" girl to our home. She should grow up to be a gentle giant. She is 3/4 Great Pyrenees & 1/4 Anatolian Shepherd. We are struggling with a name. We're looking for a name that will fit her when she is fully grown. Is there a female name that means BIG GIRL? What do you think? We've thought of Fannie (for spot on backside) Zena, LuLu, Tiny...What say the peas?

The only big girl name I can think of is Trudy. I have a list of names for my next dog. I can't remember all of them, but off the top of my head there's Monkey and Mickey. I used to work for a veterinary diagnostic lab and Roxy is super popular for dogs. My favorite thought was WhoDat. I could just picture a dog freaking out every time someone said his name.

I just saw a local Portland OR story last night where a chipped dog was returned to their owners after a year! Such a happy reunion! Your new sweet baby is adorable, how about Olive? I have that name saved for my next little guy.

Well how about Whitney? She has the show called, "My Big Fat Fabulous Life" and the No Body Shame campaign.
I also thought of Chica. It just means Girl but it's cute.
also Fifi from the French 'Fille' or girl

Oh she is sooooo cute! And I believe someone who would steal as dog from their owner has a special place waiting for them in hell. We had two big dogs stolen from a dog run next to our house, and looked for them for years....
Sally? Heidi? Our GSD is Heidi.

What about Mistral (the strong wind in Southern France) which would git with her Pyrenees origins Alba or Blanca (both mean white in Spanish). Cierra/Sierra - from the mountains
She's absolutely gorgeous!

Just did a search on a baby name site for you, looking for something meaning large. Found "Treva" which means "large homestead" and is a Welsh name. It said it's pronounced like "Trevor with a NY accent."
You could also go with a Starbucks large title "Grande" or "Venti."

Oh I'm not a dog person but she is such a cutie!
My very first thought for a name was Bonnie
Bonnie is a name of Scottish origin which means "pretty" or "beautiful". It is based on the Latin word "bonus" and the French word "bon" which means good.

A friend of dh's used to have Great Danes...big Danes. LOL And I LOVED that they used Greek Gods/Goddesses for names. They had a Zeus and Athena at one point. They had a couple of other ones but for the life of me I cannot remember their names. I know they had a smaller dog they named Ruby. But the big dogs always had Greek names and it seemed very fitting.

How terrible is that that someone took your precious Labs. How cruel are people now days? I'm very sorry that that happened to you.
She sure is super cute. There are several names listed above that are great names. I especially like Bella and Bonnie, but then I thought of Minnie or Mimi.
Let us know what you decide on and please post some pictures as she grows.

First off, she is ADORABLE! Secondly, omg, someone STOLE your dogs?? Who the hell does that??? . Can't even imagine the pain of that happening. That pup is beyond cute and hard to believe just how big she will get. I do lie the name Daphne because it does seem lie a big girl name, no offense if someone is named that on this board. I alos like Bonnie because she is really pretty. Good luck coming up with a perfect moniker for her. One more - how about Holly as a daily reminder of when she became a menber of your family.
