Finally have a working dishwasher (been oh... 3 years!!) And wondering what is a good detergent? Picked up Palmolive eco....but not sure it's all that great.

When we got a new dishwasher 7 years ago it came with some free samples of Finish Powerball detergent. I haven't used anything different in all this time. I think it works really well.

Mine came with Finish Powerball samples too and has it written right on it that the manufacturer (KA) recommends them. So that's all I've ever used and I'm pleased with the results.

Another vote for Finish Powerball. It was the one recommended by Bosch.

I had been using the cascade pods (whichever ones have triple gel). When my current dishwasher was replaced, it had a finish powerball tab sample, too. I use that mostly now. (more specifically, these ones.) I switched to the powerball for two reasons: They are packed in a tray to protect the tabs. I got a LOT of leaky cascade pods. Also, the cascades were going through a period of time when they were.not.dissolving. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but it really bugged me. That said, if for some reason the finish tabs I want are not available, I will pick up the cascade ones without hesitating. But I think the finish ones just do a better job with my dishes.
