So, on Sunday I was out shopping with my two DD's and we ended up at Pizza Hut. Not been for years. Nice and quiet (just before noon) lovely spicy pizza and cheesy garlic bread. Then a party came in - about 10 adults, two children and two babes in arms. With a cake that had to be assembled. After that the (presumably) Mum of the birthday boy got out several plastic birthday tablecloths out of her bag and made the serving staff clear the tables and put these tacky cloths on. Me and my DD's were . I have used said tacky style table cloths at home but that's just for quick clean up, right? Not something you need to worry about when you're eating out.

I have never seen anyone use their own table cloths etc at any restaurant or fast food place I have been to. How bizarre !
There was a party of 6 year olds at the Hut we went to last night (it's just after midnight here now.)
The racket was unbelievable, plus there was a poor mum sitting behind us who had a screaming toddler, a crying baby in the pram and an older boy who sat scowling at the screaming toddler the whole time we were there. I would have liked to have gone over and asked it there as anything I could do to help as she looked stressed but her body language and expression said 'don't approach me'!
We normally wait around 15-20 mins for pizza there, but it took longer than that for the garlic bread ,then almost an hour for the pizza. Plus people who ordered after us got served before us. This particular branch is never very good but we keep going back because it is so easy to get to with plenty of parking.
As I said on the other thread we got freebies out of it, but we never intended being out so long because my daughter is in work 6 am today and wanted to digest and get to bed early.
Think I have finally had enough though !

People still go to Pizza Hut to eat instead of just picking it up or having it delivered?!? The last time I was inside a PH was over a year ago, when we were at my parents' cabin and PH doesn't do delivery at all in that area, so we had to pick it up. The line for pick-up was CRAZY, but the restaurant itself was practically empty. I think the last time I ate inside one was at least 10 years ago, if not more.

When I've seen parties at Pizza Hut, the tables have been completely set with silverware and cups before the party arrived. Breaking it down seems awkward. I can see, though, the kid who loves a particular character begging for a table cloth. Alison totally would have done that from age 4-8 - she had great plans for decorating each party.
Our Pizza Hut has a pretty good play area, so there are always people with kids eating inside.

I don't think any of the PH locations near us even have seating. I think they are just pick up locations.

many moons ago when my 24 year old was turning 7 or 8 and we did his party there, we didn't do anything like that, just ordered pizza. I think we bought the cake from them (it was a frozen one, but whatever). I wouldn't do the tablecloth thing. gee whiz.
we still have indoor seating. The same son from the above story worked there for several years and was a manager before he graduated college and went into banking.

People still go to Pizza Hut to eat instead of just picking it up or having it delivered?!? Usually only when they have buy one get one free buffet, and even that's sometimes a risky proposition. We were in there once, and this party of about six was there, gorging on buffet. They asked for cinnastix to be restocked. As soon as they were, one lady pulled a gallon ziplock from her purse and went and filled 'er up. And yes, I told management, but they didn't do anything. I don't quite understand why-- it's one thing if your staff just kinda suspects, but I was a freakin' witness.

We don't even have a Pizza Hut that you can eat inside around here. We only have one that delivers or you can pick up your pizza but you can't eat it there.
