Sometimes. Those are usually the nights I try out new vegetarian recipes or dishes that I know my husband and kids wouldn't love.

I have lived alone for the past 18 months. I don't cook every night, in fact only a couple of times a week. When I do cook, I typically make at least enough for 4 meals so I freeze single servings. That way I only need to defrost my main dish and throw together some fruit and vegetables and I'm good to go.

Left to fend for myself, I would probably live on toasted ham sandwiches, microwavable kraft easy mac single serve cups, or cereal.

Yes. No need to ask if they feel like having this or that. I cook what I want. I enjoy it. It's fun.

I am a recent empty nester so I a learning to cook for myself. But, I don't cook every night. I usually cook enough for dinner one night, lunch the next and part of dinner the 2nd night.

Yes. But I will cook enough for lunch and dinner for a couple of days. Or it is one of those nights when I want something my DH would not eat if he were home.

If dh is gone for just a couple nights, I won't I will get ready to heat, or take out, the most I might do is pancakes or scrambled eggs.
when dh was gone for months on an overseas assignment, then I did do some cooking - nothing fancy though.

I will grill chicken or steak and have a salad. I love to cook so I would cook for myself if I had to do that often.

I am home alone every night. I have a routine in that I have my supper at 5 pm while I watch the local news. I definitely cook for myself. I make at least two servings of each dish so that I have freezer meals. After my dh died I just either ate half a sandwich or nothing for the first year. I soon began to realize that I was not doing myself any good with that. So I now plan my meals including lots of fresh steamed veggies. I am worth cooking for.

Usually. Sometimes I might just have leftovers or a sandwich, but I have a few favorite dishes that no one else in the family likes, so many times I will fix of those "just for me" specials.

I'm never alone for dinner (kids are here even if DH isn't), but I am alone for lunch. I will make do with a sandwich most of the time. If there are interesting leftovers that I didn't send with DH for lunch, I will have that instead.

I'm not alone very often for dinner, but when I am, I love to go out to eat on my own, or else I will cook some kind of seafood. I am the only person in my house who eats seafood! Now I'm wishing DH would take the kids away for a day or two!!

No. I'd go out and get fast food (I admit that I eat it now and then and I like a lot of it), or else I'll make a frozen pizza or or microwave dinner. I do enjoy cooking but I hate the cleanup. If no one else is home, it's my night off.

No, I can't stand to cook! The part I don't like is thinking of a dinner idea. That's the hardest. Food is so expensive, and all the meals that look good in magazines cost a lot to get all the ingredients. I am happy to eat cereal!

In the early days of my divorce I didn't cook. But I came to the place I realized I needed to cook for good nutrition sake if nothing else. I don't do a full mean from scratch every night. On week ends I cook family size entrees and freeze the extras so the nights I don't feel like cooking there is still good food that is easy to prepare. Add a quick salad or some steamed vegs and a good balanced meal is as quick as a bag of popcorn.

Since I live alone, I have no choice. I usually will make a big pot of spaghetti or some crock pot casserole and eat the same thing till it's gone. I'm not that picky about what I eat.
I have started going to Dream Dinners, I posted about it in another thread, and now I eat pretty good with something different almost every night. But that's only because it's prepared at Dream Dinners and everything is in freezer ready to cook.
Thankfully eating alone doesn't bother me since I've been doing it for so long. Eating a bowl of cereal in front of the tv suits me just fine!!!

No, but it's pretty rare. I usually view it as a treat and get take-out. Or I'll make a veggie omelet.

I love to cook, so yeah, sometimes I do. I think it would be a tie between cooking a meal for me and just having a sandwich or a few handfuls of whatever I can find in the cabinet or fridge.

I love to cook but I also love a clean kitchen so if it's just me, I don't want to dirty the kitchen. I live alone and have a hard time keeping weight on so that's a problem. My solution is to invite friends or family for dinner or make and take dinner to someone who could use the help. With that and eating out I don't skip meals (too often )

I am not usually home alone but if I am either I will eat cereal or bread (yes just bread with butter) or go out for supper. I love to cook but not for just me. Guess I won't appreciate my hard work enough. Lol.

Not usually. I will grab something quick, like a hamburger and salad, a cheesesteak sandwich, sauted chicken and veggies, or broil a fish filet to have with a salad.

No. It's just too much work after a long day. Then I end up eating the left overs ALL WEEK!
