She's asked for a Tervis coffee cup, not metal. I'm thinking she is meaning a travel mug (because of saying no metal, so something she can heat up). What is a good brand of these (I know she said Tervis but I read that as style not necessarily brand).

Tervis is a good brand; that's probably why she asked for it. They're double walled to prevent condensation on the outside of the cup. You might ask her to clarify-- they have actual coffee cups (what others probably call a mug), but also travel tumblers with lids (more of a travel coffee cup).
There's lots at bed bath and beyond.

Buy her Tervis- that is what she asked for. The knock offs aren't as good and Tervis has a lifetime guarantee.

I have a ton of the double walled Starbux plastic tumblers with the lid and straw. They're fairly expensive even when on sale.
I use them almost exclusively because the nerve damage in my arms from MS causes me to lose my grip and easily knock over my glasses. I got tired of cleaning beverages out of my Karastan wool rug, and dh thought I'd like the cup when they first came out.
We tried buying some of the cheap ones, but the glue at the top of cup which holds the two walls in place didn't hold well so the outer cup will just fall off. We hand wash them so it wasn't from heat.
The Tervis mugs are almost indestructible. They were extremely popular with boat owners way before they became a huge trend because they won't shatter, keep the drinks cold even in the sun, and are really nice looking. (people that spend that much $$$ on a hole in the water don't want to drink out of the can and glass bottles aren't a good idea on vessels that are pitching back and forth in rough seas) The guys loved the cool logos on them.
Another great thing about Tervis mugs is that you can purchase replacement lids.

So the Tervis travel tumblers can be used for coffee? I guess that is what I was confused about.

So the Tervis travel tumblers can be used for coffee? I guess that is what I was confused about. Yes, I have a tervis coffee mug (which doesn't really seem any better than a regular coffee mug at keeping things warm) and a bunch of tervis tumblers. I use them interchangeably for hot and cold stuff. I just sent my kid off to school with his coffee in his brand spanking new FSU tumbler.

If she asked for a Tervis coffee mug, I would get her a Tervis coffee mug, not a tumbler! Tervis mug

I would get her a Tervis tumbler with a lid and also get a handle for it. I have several and LOVE them!

Today has free regular shipping, or you can pay to have items delivered by the 22nd or 23rd. I just bought a tumbler, lid and handler with the UCONN Huskie for my Dad and paid to have it delivered to him in time. He will love it, he and my Mom are huge fans of the girls basketball team. Boys too, but they really root for the girls.
