My current slippers are by Ugg and I LOVE them, but they're worn out, the side kind of split so it hurts when i'm standing for a while...I need to replace today! I don't do malls, so i'll be ordering online, links are appreciated!
I need something warm, and comfy with a hard sole. We keep the house thermostat on 62 (It's not really that cold in here, the heat travels directly to the bedrooms so the living room stays cool, bedrooms are HOT and the kitchen gets really, really warm when we're cooking (everyday)
I wear them around the house, in the car on road trips (so i'd prefer them to be semi-respectable looking) and every now and then to take the dogs out or to drop the trash at the curb)
I don't dislike the current Ugg styles, but i'd like to consider other options too, I could be missing out on something great!
Price doesn't really matter, but i'd like to keep it below $150ish. I feel like I got my moneys worth out of my current slippers, but I don't want to spend much more unless i'm going to have spontaneous orgasms as I walk around in them.

I was going to suggest Uggs. I love my slippers! My only complaint is the tie on the front doesn't stay tied.

I like moccasin style slippers. Mine are from the men's section in Target and they've lasted years. I don't wear them outside much, except to check the mail.

I have a Canadian-made version of these Minnetonka moccasins that I've been loving this winter. Warm and cushiony.

I have suede Skechers similar to the ones esperanza mentioned. I have a black pair and a tan pair, and alternate them in an attempt to make them last longer. I love them.

Has anyone tried Haflingers, Glerups, or the LL bean fluffy slippers? I have the Wicked Good moccasins and they're awesome! They're so fluffy initially, that I actually got geeked out when I put them on barefoot because the fur was going up between my toes. *gasp*

I have a pair of garishly bright slippers that are knee-high and have ties on the outside at the top with fluffy balls on the ends of the ties. They are from a discount store (can't remember which one) and were inexpensive. They are the BEST because my ankles stay warm! I will be wearing them until they fall apart, lol.

I don't feel like it took very long for the uggs to get smooshed down and not as comfy. Fur between my toes might get me a little closer to O's while i'm mopping!

I had some that were really REALLY similar. My half pomeranian/half devil thought they were toys and destroyed them in about 5 minutes. He's such a jerk! It's a good thing he's cute!

Mine are by Merrill. Love them. They're similar to uggs but fit my feet better and provide better support, which I need. They're really really warm sheepskin. So comfortable I wore them to work a couple of times on cold days. And I was ok with that because they look fine and not really like slippers. I got them on clearance at marshalls so I don't know what the usual price is. Might be comparable to uggs. Can't figure out the style name. Sorry

When my dad died, I inherited his Cabela's fleece lined leather slippers. Liked them so much that I bought DH a pair. I am wearing them right now.
I just checked the website, and they don't have the same style anymore, but, you may want to check and see if there is anything you like on their website. Great quality.

Bare feet in Canada. I have to TURN DOWN THE HEAT because someone turns it up to 72-74 every morning. I need bare feet.

Has anyone tried Haflingers, Glerups, or the LL bean fluffy slippers? I've bought Haflinger's and Giesswein (sp) and they're both super awesome. Comfy, warm, and long-lasting

Right now I'm wearing a pair of Bear Paw slippers that I got at Famous Footware. They are Ugg style - good sole and very warm. They were on sale for $35 after Xmas. I have a pair of Sorels that I've been wearing for a few years. I love them.

Yes I do! Uggs, just as you described. Lol. Sorry I'm no help. I've just discovered reading socks. Oh I could live in those as well. So thick and warm and fuzzy and comfy. I believe they come with or without a hard sole. I have regular sock like style and I adore them almost as much as my uggs. From chapters.

I have bear paws suede that when I first got them the fluff was so fluffy that I nearly took them back. I continued wearing them and they are great so great that I have nearly worn my first pair out and just bought a new pair. I wear them in the house and sometimes I keep them on when I drive to pick up my son from work - they are that comfy. They do have a sturdy sole too. I bought mine at Macys but I know they sell them on Amazon all the time too.

I love the ones from Target.... cheap and they wear good for years.. They are either tan or black.. little strip of fur on the top and suede looking.. hard bottoms. I try to buy at end of season, like now and they are marked down to about $10.

So happy in my Uggs right this minute! I never would spend that kind of $$ on slippers, but Dh got me these as a gift.
But *ahem* if you should happen to find some spontaneous O slippers, you WILL come back and share the make and model with us, right??? ;D

I have a pair of Toms I really like ( these). They're only a year old but they've held up well so far and they're still warm and fleecy. In the past I've had Minnetonkas and also Wicked Good slippers from LL Bean.

They weren't cheap, and since having my kid and developing OA they don't fit anymore. The soles are cork so they mold to your foot giving you perfect arch support for your feet. He cork is also a good insulator so if your floors are cold they are good for that too. I probably will order another pair after I have my foot surgery. You can order them from Amazon.
