I hear you! Especially when it gets to the weaving in the ends phase of an afghan. I can only do 30 minutes of that at a time before I MUST do something else, so there are always multiple projects in different stages of completion going on. Oh I hate the weaving part. I'm like you. I can only do so much at a time. I try to weave in ends after I have so many inches of the afghan done. It's not as painful weaving them in as I go. If I waited until the end, I would die, and it would never be finished. Oh, and another one guilty of having several projects going at once.

I cringe when I finish the project and sit and stare at all those damn ends.

Oh yes, angieh1996, it is SO easy when you just do a bit at a time. It also looks nicer. Sometimes I may not have time to really relax and crochet so I might just sit down for 15 minutes and weave in a bit. I usually don't let it go far before weaving in so it's not a dreaded task any longer. I think seeing it done and looking nice also encourages me to continue that way. It really works great!

Oh and just another benefit to "weaving along the way," I can start the edging as soon as I finish the afghan. I LOVE doing the edge on afghans. It's like the really exciting part to me. And knowing the ends were already done, I can start the edging right away. Love that too!

I always have a few projects going at the same time. :-D Wait! Are you only supposed to work on one project at a time?? If so, I am a big long-term failure! I can't. I get bored too easily. I have three afghans going right now. But this is the year I use my stash all up so I am trying to do all sorts of random things. I've got one giant granny square afghan going that I might actually have to buy more yarn to complete it because I'm only half way done right now. I've got a temperature blanket going which is really just a striped single crochet afghan which I have really enjoyed because it's basically one stripe per day. And I just started a ripple for one of my stepdaughters. I made each of our girls a different afghan with the same yarn. I've made three so far and now this is my fourth. The three little girls share a room so it will be nice for them to have colored coordinated, yet different, afghans for their beds.

I get bored easily, especially if it's a big project. So I always have a few smaller things going too. I hear you! Especially when it gets to the weaving in the ends phase of an afghan. I can only do 30 minutes of that at a time before I MUST do something else, so there are always multiple projects in different stages of completion going on. I weave in ends as I go because that's my least favorite part. I can't leave it all until the end, it would drive me bonkers.

Yes, the postage from Wool Warehouse to the states is low. Better than many USA online yarn shops. And the yarn gets here within 10 days - so about the same as ordering from JoAnn's. I've been so happy with their yarns and service that I've ordered from them several times. With the exchange rate being pretty good right now, the prices are great for the packs. So I had to bump this thread to report that I received my order from Wool Warehouse and the yarn is beautiful! I love it so much, I ordered some more to do another project. I am most impressed by the variety of colors. I wanted to do a blanket with a gradient color design and I couldn't find more than two shades in any color from any other lines besides the one at Hobby Lobby, which I love, but makes me sneeze. I live in CA and it took exactly two weeks, which is about what I had expected. Thank you all for the recommendation!

DinCA, I am so glad you love the yarn you bought from them! I can't wait to start on a throw I'm going to crochet with a pack of yarn I got in from them on the last sale. Right now I'm finishing up a knitted cowl for a gift with some Sublime yarn I bought from them that is a wool, silk, cashmere mix and I will have the hardest time parting with it.

angieh1996 your afghan is beautiful. Awesome to see so many people are crocheting and interested to learn I'm currently working on a ripple, the colours are little bit loud but I love it so far. A little tip for buyers from Wool Warehouse if you put in the code SC41 you receive 10% off your order total, not sure if that works for overseas orders though.

It is absolutely lovely and I love the color combination! The cats and I would be be scrap-fighting for ownership. I know I would win. Would you mind sharing the pattern? I need a new project and the variety of color would help keep it interesting. Thanks!

Quoting myself because I am still thinking about placing a yarn order. Even if my DH would kill me for taking on yet another project. So tell me really, how difficult is crochet? How long would a blanket like that take, ballpark, for a beginner? I've done a bit of knitting before so I'm not totally bereft of needle skills but still... This pattern is pretty simple. I made mine longer to fit my bed. But her original pattern isn't as big as mine. It took me about 6 weeks to complete mine, but I wasn't crocheting every day. It will depend on how much you work on it. To give you an idea on cost. I ordered 2 of her cosy yarn packs because I knew I'd need more that one for my blanket and I am using my left overs to make my cousin one. It cost me around $70 for 30 Skeins of yarn and shipping. And I had my yarn in about 10 days. I JUST BOUGHT 32 SKEINS .....

I've looked at this post a dozen times since you shared your gorgeous afghan. I don't even see the cats. Just your beautiful work. I'm determined to figure out this crochet thing in 2016. I tried a couple times but never could get it to go for me. I want that afghan and will figure it out this time! Books didn't work so I'm moving on to YouTube. Dang left-handedness.

Check out Tamara Kelly on YouTube. She has left handed crochet videos. Her blog is Mooglyblog.com Good luck. My grandma taught me years ago and I'm trying to teach my daughter. I'm not so good at teaching. Lol.

I'm not so good at teaching. Lol. My mom wasn't, either. She was left-handed and crocheted for years, but wasn't a teacher. Then, we'd get frustrated with each other the way mothers and daughters do. It was too much drama for yarn.

This is so sweet. I wonder if the cats and dogs love the afghans so much because they watch you make them and they have your smell on them.

It doesn't matter what I crochet. As soon as I get that yarn out those 2 cats come running. Lol. If I don't bag it and keep it up as I'm working they will find a way to lay on it and make it theirs.
