There are a lot of nights that I go to sleep looking forward to a cup in the morning. YES! I love my morning coffee! I always have my first cup in bed brought to me by my sweet DH.

This morning I had a new Chocolate Turtle that was just roasted last week. Ahhhh.....the first sip was amazing! (The rest of the cup was pretty darn good to....but yes, that first sip is delightful.)

I need my coffee in the morning. Having to do fasting blood work is torture. I schedule it as early as I can and put some coffee in an insulated cup to be waiting on me as soon as I'm done.

The only thing that would be better this morning, would be the A/C working. It went out last night and we are in Texas with 100 degree temps. Just waiting on the repairman! With my hot coffee. Ugh. I hope the repair guy can come soon! A few years ago we were without electricity for SIX DAYS in the middle of the summer. Of course that meant no coffee pot, plus we have an electric stove so I couldn't even heat water. I was sure I'd be driving up to the 7-11 somewhere to get some, but it was just too dang hot. Believe it or not I started drinking Coke in the morning. (we had ice in a cooler). I rarely ever drink Coke, but it tasted like heaven during that week. And probably kept me from caffeine withdrawal. lol Our power was out for a few days earlier this summer. I got out our coleman camping stove (a propane grill would work, too), put some coffee grounds in a filter and tied it closed with string, then boiled some in a pot. A girl has to learn to adapt . I have been meaning to invest in one of those little hobo camping pots.

When I had my tubes tied, I must have asked for coffee before I was even coherant I was suddenly aware of a hot cup in my hand in recovery.

Mmmmm, drinking my morning cup now. I would mainline coffee in the mornings if I could.
DH's best friend, who stays with us from time to time, is a total PITA, but he is made tolerable by the fact that he gets up early each and every morning and makes me coffee. For that, I never object when he wants to visit. I bragged about him when DH's sister and her husband were staying here, so then her husband got up early and made coffee. DH, however, still hasn't gotten it figured out.

My favorite part of the morning. Ahhh...such a lovely way to start the day! Cannot function at all without my coffee, and NOBODY talks to me unless I've had my first cup, NOBODY!

Ummmmm, a nice hot cup of coffee with real cream and maple syrup is heavenly. It's how I start my day. Okay, I've never heard of putting maple syrup in coffee. It sounds delicious! I can't wait to try it, as soon as I can buy some. I'm assuming it has to be real maple syrup, not that fake stuff that people (me included) put on pancakes? Yes, it's the real stuff. And it doesn't take much. The flavor is so deep and rich.
