Cary Grant. I just can't take my eyes off of him when he is on. I especially like him in The Bishop's Wife. I loved him in Arsenic and Old Lace! It is one of my all time favorite movies and probably the first I ever saw him in. I also loved him in Bringing Up Baby!

Charlton Heston in Ben Hur. He was smokin'!
I'm a huge John Wayne fan, too. Love the rugged look on men, and he was as rugged as they come.

I'm a huge Jimmy Stewart fan, and I have long harbored an intense crush on Rock Hudson. That man was a dreamboat with a voice like velvet.

Although I've always liked the older stars, I can't remember thinking that any of them were sexy or dreamy. The first one I can remember feeling that way about was Elvis, especially in his '68 Comeback Special. When I was 7 years old, I remember being so jealous of Priscilla!

Clint Eastwood. I can't believe no one has mentioned him yet. I keep thinking if I watch Bridges of Madison County enough times the ending will change. and thank god he carried on those genes....

Clark Gable. I remember my Mom sent me upstairs when GWTW was on. I snuck under a table and watched the entire thing. Turns out she knew I was there. lol
Later, Larry Hagman. Loved that man!

To me, Montgomery Clift was the epitome of dreamy. And such an extraordinary actor, as well.
I just saw that Matt Bomer is going to play him in a biopic. He'll be perfect!

I agree with those who mentioned James Garner (I've had a crush on him since I was 6 years old!) and John Wayne. But another one who makes my heart go pitter-patter is Steve McQueen, or as I call him, "yum-yum". I've always had a thing rugged men!

Well, this has been fun to lurk. Did anyone mention Robert Redford, since not as golden Paul and Tom are on list.

Ok I admit Clark Gable and Cary Grant are definitely on my list but when you need a real man noboby better than John Wayne.

For me, I'm all in for Gregory Peck and Gene Kelly. No contest. And I'll throw in Christopher Reeve, it doesn't matter if he was Superman or Clark Kent with the big glasses, he was so dreamily tall, dark and handsome.

It's a toss up between Cary Grant and Gregory Peck. Why? They were both extremely handsome.

Clark Gable... Because Rhett Butler!! Yul Brenner always reminded me of my grandfather, so I don't see what the rest of you see When I was in high school in Colorado in 81/82, a friend of mine rode a ski lift in the single rider line with Paul Newman. She had no idea who he was, but her mom did and nearly passed out when she saw who she was chatting with as they got off the lift. For the record, she said he was incredibly nice and friendly and they chatted for the entire ride

Cary Grant...without doubt, then Paul Newman. No one has mentioned Alan Ladd--"Shane, come back Shane." My mom loved Brian Donlevy so much she named my brother Brian, and she liked Robert Walker Sr. because my dad looked like him . ETA--Just found out Brian Donlevy's first name was Waldo. I much prefer having a brother named after his middle name.

Oh, it would have to be Clark Gable. And next is Sean Connery. And then Robert Redford. I just want those three and you can have the rest!

I always had a thing for Omar Sharif! I would have loved to have been snowed in w/ Dr. Zhivago! I also could have lived happily on the ranch w/ Rock Hudson in Giant

My top pick is Cary Grant. He could be silly and sultry.
My next picks are Jimmy Stewart because he was sweet and vulnerable, James Garner because his voice gets to me, too, and Gregory Peck for his intelligence coming through his characters.
