My ds (12) will not wear jeans. It is wind pants like Nike or Adidas or track pants from Hollister or Abercrombie for him. It's okay though because he is 6'0 and 127lbs so I don't think we could find a 27 waist 34 out seam anyways. With the elastic waists I can take them in. DD (16) will wear pretty much anything jeans, leggings skirts whatever. Some days she goes to school in a hoodie and track pants, the next day it is a skirt and heels. Carhart makes jeans that will fit him. And Levi's shrink to fit. There is a guide on how to buy the. Thanks but he wouldn't wear them anyways. He says they are very uncomfortable .

My 10 year old DS hates jeans and will only wear track pants or sweats. It took a few years to potty train him and he still gets 'caught short' sometimes, so it's fine with me if he feels comfortable and has less accidents. I recently made the mistake of buying colored socks with the days of the week printed on the sole. Now he has to were the correct colors depending on the day!!
DD17 is a very flamboyant dresser - she wears all kinds of crazy combinations with fake fur coats and sparkly tights - very 70s T-Rex glam rock!! I love it - she used to wear the obligatory American Eagle/ school sweatshirt combo like all her friends, but now we live in Tokyo, crazy fashions are totally acceptable:)

My 13 year old DD is really picky... she likes the boho look that is popular now, and she will wear dance/rehearsal clothes to school (black pants/black tops)
She has a VERY strong sense of what works and what doesn't. Some times I just don't get why she won't wear and A & B together. There is no rhyme or reason.
I had totally stopped buying clothes for her a few years ago because i never got it quite right. But lately I've been able to get her one off things that she loves.
She often takes a while to like things though. When she was little I would buy her something and 6 - months a year later she would want to wear it and she would out grown or nearly out grown it. She still does that some today..
She is shooting up right now and I can't keep her in Jeans!

My kids hate jeans. My high school students also hate them. I suppose if I could wear leggings in place of jeans, I would too.

DD 12 has a very classic taste in clothes. I bought her a black dress for Christmas and she insisted on wearing a pearl necklace. She was very Audrey Hepburn. She likes to wear tights and has no problem with panty hose but she is a dancer so most of her life she has been in tights. She is pretty easy to dress and we have fun shopping together.
DS 9 hates jeans. He wears his Dockers school uniform pants almost every day and sometimes he will wear sweats. He prefers his clothing to be loose fitting.
DD 6 wants to wear leggings all the time but her school doesn't allow them. She is at a private school so she is in uniform most of the time but there are some days they get to be out of uniform. She prefers skirts to pants and if she could she would go sockless all day long. She also hates to wear shoes. It doesn't matter what kind. As soon as she can she takes her shoes off.

My 14 yo DS never wore jeans until this year and now it's all he wears. He is also very slender and tall and we've found 28 x 34 Levis mostly fit him. They at least don't fall off. I've never found any in-store, so I order them from Kohls or Amazon. (Just in case yours changes his mind or needs them for a band concert or something.) DD(16) doesn't like shirts with store logos on them. She doesn't feel like she needs to be advertising for them. Ha ha!

My ds is 15 and a freshman. All through elementary he wore shorts and a polo. Didn't care what colours, was happy to wear plaid short, easy peasy. In junior high, he still wore whatever coloured polo, but wanted plain coloured shorts, no prints or plaid. In high school it is now shorts in khaki, green, black or navy. And dark t-shirts with nothing on them. He has also worn jeans a couple of times. Oh and he prefers that his shoes have laces, but can be laced loosely enough for him to slip on.

DD 5 will not wear jeans at all. Hates them. She will only wear knit pants like sweats, fleece or leggings. She is another that would wear a dress every day of her life if I let her. Other than that she's not too picky although she's not a huge fan of anything that she thinks is a "boy" color. If it has a princess or My Little Pony on it, she's golden. Bonus points if it has glitter, sequins or anything sparkly!

Both of my boys have always hated jeans. I bought them each a pair for their senior picture. Probably the only time they were ever worn. My youngest dressed like Charlie Sheen through elementary school.

I cannot get my 11 year old to wear any pants but athletic type pants. We have uniforms here, so that means he wears shorts year around. Not a battle I fight.

I am so glad to hear that my kids aren't the only ones who hate jeans. DD would never wear them or any woven material until she started middle school. DS will not wear them either, ever. I used to live in jeans the whole year and loved them. Why all the hate now?

It's easier to say what he does like (teenager)
Even though we live in the cold north, he wears shorts (the mesh type ones) year round. All he will wear on top is tshirts with either funny sayings or stuff he likes. He will not wear much else (though he will wear a coat if it's really cold, and since he's in band he does have to wear dress clothes for that)
On the bright side, I spend hardly anything on him for school clothes.

My older two HATE to wear jeans. The younger one is refusing to wear long sleeve shirts (but will wear sweatshirts?). It is driving me crazy. I bought several cute shirts for him in the fall and he won't wear them at all. Any ideas on how to get him to wear them? He is 4.

DD#1 doesn't like things that button down the front. I have no idea why- it doesn't matter if she has to actually do up the buttons or if she can leave them all buttoned and pull it on. It started with skirts and progressed from there. When she does wear a shirt that buttons, she'll wear a tshirt or tank top underneath and leave the buttons undone.

This is funny, because just yesterday DS 15 - who previously has NEVER expressed any fashion preference, announced that he does not like V neck shirts & to never buy them again! He also showed me which of his jeans are his favorite & asked me to get more in that particular style - they are "skinny straight." So not hipster-dude-skinny jeans, just not loose/bootcut. I am actually kind of happy that he is maturing to the point where he cares more about his appearance - this after years of having to remind him to brush his teeth & put on deodorant! DD 18 does not wear dresses, except to formal events. It is weird because she loves to shop for formal dresses & to dress up for various events, but in her every day life she says that wearing a dress makes her feel too naked?! Also, although she has beautiful arms (I say this as someone who always has thick upper arms no matter if my weight is up or down!) she does not like to wear tank tops - although she will wear cute shorts rompers that have cami tops or that are strapless. I think she will get over that when she moves to FL for college this summer!

DS, 16, would wear basketball shorts and t-shirts year round if he could. He has a uniform for school and cannot wear shorts, but as soon as he's home, out come the shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. If he's cold and going out he may put on a hoodie. If he's really cold, he'll layer two hoodies. At home, he is often found in shorts and covered up in a lap throw or blanket. When he was younger he wouldn't do socks with seams or any kind of tag. Goody kids.
