Tonight I'm taking dinner to the DH of a friend who is going through chemo. She has no appetite but worries about him eating. I'm also going to drop off a plate for a man in town who recently lost his wife. I'm making stir fried chicken with pea pods and sweet yellow and red pepper strips. I've got a great bottled sauce for it. I'm also making stir fried broccoli, cabbage, carrots, green onions and celery. I'll put a sriracha teriyaki sauce on those. Of course I'll make steamed rice and I'm making an Asian noodle dish with matchstick carrots and sliced mushrooms. I just spent the last two hours chopping vegetables. While I chopped I baked a pan of rhubarb bars for dessert. After I get done delivering food, my brother and I will eat what's left And I have a mound of dishes in my sink! Ugh!
so, what's happening in your kitchen tonight?

Italian sausage on the grill, with I don't know what. Spent the afternoon washing windows and have no energy left to think.

We just finished VBS. It's been raining the last 3 days. Before we left this morning, I put the makings for beef stew in the crock pot. Smells yummy in here.

Two kinds of baked pasta: lemon garlic and a tomato veggie, green salad, artisan bread, cherry pie and homemade vanilla ice cream.
My parents are in town, only happens once every couple if years, and my dad's sister and her family are coming over for dinner. A little mini family reunion!!

It's just me tonight. DS is over at his girlfriend's house for the weekend. I'm going to have some sliced strawberries, crumbled blue cheese, candied pecan halves, a little bit of balsamic vinaigrette dressing and my favorite crackers-Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers.

Filet mignon, green beans and ramen noodles. Yep. Ramen with filet. It's how I'm rolling on a Friday night. At least they're beef, so they compliment the steak.

BBQ teriyaki pork kebabs and a slew of vegetables that dh is grilling. The pork marinade is a new recipe for me, so fingers crossed!

We're on our way to Costa Rica, so dinner will be whatever we're offered on the plane. But seeing as DH was kind enough to upgrade us to business class, at least we'll get a meal! With silverware! How exciting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wanted to order pizza, but it likely won't happen. It may end up being a make your own dinner night as DH will be leaving early for work (he works nights) so I don't have to feed him. I guess frozen pizza is just as good as carryout...right?

I ended up making pasta w/tomato sauce last nite (I was still finding grease spatters this morning from frying up sausage, chicken, pepperoni & meatballs to flavor the sauce), so tonite we're having the frozen chicken kiev, rice side & green salad I had planned for last nite.

I put some rub on grill steaks and I have ears of corn, brussels sprouts and fresh pretzel rolls. Hopefully the rain will hold out so it can all be grilled.

So sweet of you to make everyone dinner tonight akathy!
We picked up the kids from camp today, so we stopped at DQ on the way home. We aren't hungry at all, so we will probably have popcorn for "dinner" much later. I'll wash my popcorn down with some good wine!

I haven't decided for sure if I'm going to cook. I'm tired!! But if I do, I'll make Thai Green Curry Chicken with rice. If not, I have a craving for Jets Pizza!
And can I just say that seeing the dinner thread, hosted by AKathy, makes me feel like we are all settling right in to our new home.

I am making a pasta dish with chicken in a lemon cream sauce. I am cheating by picking up a rotessire chicken to make things a bit easier.

I'm making a veggie frittata for a wedding shower my sister is giving tomorrow for a nephew on her DH's side (first same-sex marriage in our families!) so I'm making a second one for us to eat tonight. Soooo happy to see our What's for Dinner thread again.

I made pesto with the first basil harvest from our garden and served that with pasta and a salad. DH read that the Marzetti's Italian blue cheese vinaigrette was the same dressing used on Outback's chopped salad so we tried it with the salad. It is NOT.

I know your meals made their day and loved on them in a way only yummy food arriving at your door can. That was kind of you.
We have grilled veggies (spinach, onions and spinach) and my dh had some chicken with his.
