I'm going to make PW's Chicken and Noodles tonight. That was last night's plan, but thing got busy and I didn't have time to cook. So, the brood had Subway. Tonight I'll make a heartwarming meal.
What's on your menu?
Have a great Thursday everyone. Hope you've all had "me" time this week. If not, it's never too late.

I need my Ro-Tel They just need to start selling it in our grocery stores here Of course the dd's won't eat the soup so they are fending for themselves

Per DH's request, we're having baked ham, macaroni and cheese (made with Velveeta), roasted or steamed carrots, green beans, and corn, Bisquick biscuits, strawberry jello, and the Valentine's dessert that is still hanging around. Untouched. I'm considering adding a vegetable casserole made with cream of soup. With chemically laden, processed products, I say, "Go big, or go home!".

I'm getting ready to put together a chicken curry in the crockpot. It's just about the easiest dinner ever, and so delicious!

It's cleaning lady day and we hate to mess up the kitchen after they've been here, so we're having taco soup out of the freezer and salad. Some fruit for dessert.

My refrigerator is stuffed full of leftovers, so nothing new is getting cooked until it is emptied out. Hamburger stroganoff, carnitas, refried beans, still a huge amount of mashed potatoes even though we ate some last night instead of baked potatoes, filet mignon (believe it or not ... it was delish but we only ate one between us). Thankfully most of that stuff is soft, because I am having problems with my teeth again and have to go to the dentist today. grrrrrr Maybe I will make banana pudding today, too. ETA leannec ... can't you sub plain diced tomatoes with a little chopped jalapeño added in? I'd send you some Rotel if it weren't so darned expensive to ship!

Mama's favorite - LEFTOVERS! We have leftover chicken veggie stir fry and fried rice. DH and the kids can have that. I'm going to have another salad. Too much sodium in that meal for me. I enjoyed it the first night but just too.much.sodium.

It is DH's birthday today.
He's requested mince & tatties....
So ground beef/veggies/gravy (heavy on the beef, light on veggies) and mashed potatoes!
(He's Scottish)

We're having Moroccan chicken, Parmesan couscous and zucchini. If I feel ambitious, I might get around to making some flatbread.

I need my Ro-Tel They just need to start selling it in our grocery stores here In the U.S., several companies that make canned tomatoes now have a variety that is diced and includes chilies or jalapenos. Usually there is a hot and a mild type, just like what Rotel has. I actually sometimes prefer these to Rotel, because the can is bigger than the Rotel can. So keep looking for and lobbying for Rotel, but check out other brands in your store as well, just in case!
No cooking for me tonight -- it's our "fast food after library" night. I think we're either going to do Subway or else get a pizza to bring home.

Happy Birthday to your DH cakediva - good, tasty choice for a birthday meal! It's nice to have it again - when the kids were little, one didn't like "sauce" stuff and another didn't like mashed potatoes. But now they all love it! I'll be having mashed cauliflower with mine - but it is good comfort food for the cold weather we are having!

I'm on strike. I'm sick of coming up with home-cooked meals and not receiving a single word of thanks, and more often than not complaints from the kids and an "eh, it's OK" from dh. We have leftover lentil and black bean chili from last night and leftover rice from a couple of nights ago. I combined the 2 things, poured it into a casserole dish, sprinkled cheese on the top and that will be tonight's dinner. I don't give a crap whether they like it or not. OK, I admit it, I'll probably only be on strike tonight, guilt will set in and I'll be back to making foods no-one gives damn about

I know how you feel calgal08! We had salmon and couscous (with lentils, sweet corn, cashew nuts and sesame seeds) tonight. Healthy, but not my favourite. Kids ate it (relatively) happily, though.

lucyg - my sympathies on your dental woes - been there. I am getting the kidlets pizza as Papa John's is running one of their many specials. And pizza and teen boys. Need I say more? I will eat leftover chicken paprika with homemade dumplings or cream of broccoli soup or the prepackaged Thai salad that's been in the fridge for a couple of days. One of these things will be lunch while the other will be dinner. Lisa

One of my favorites and easy to boot! We will have meatloaf sandwiches and a fruit salad. I splurged on out of season fruit. By the of February I'm tired of eating oranges and apples. I bought berries and cantaloupe.

I see myself traveling 40 mins across the city to the latin market that apparently sells Ro-Tel at a crazy price next time I want to make this soup ... I'll be phoning them first to be sure they have it in stock
