If she is going with such light summer colors, why not look for something lighter in color.

To be honest, because nothing that's a lighter colour jumps out at me.
ETA: And because she's changed her colours 3 times now. Just like she's changed her wedding date 5 times. I'm promised this is final, but who knows, lol!!!

I'm leaning towards plus sized, and I wouldn't wear any of those dresses. I think with those waist bands, its not a good look.

I really like the first one and the second one would be a close runner up.

I'm leaning towards plus sized, and I wouldn't wear any of those dresses. I think with those waist bands, its not a good look. I am fully plus sized and I would go for the waist bands all the way. It's all in how you are built. I'm an hour glass and the emphasis on the waist would be flattering on me. Which leads me to an important question: what's your body type? That makes a huge difference in what dress I would choose. Dresses 1,3,4 may not be flattering if you are chest heavy. (I mean your chest is bigger than your hips, not just large.) If you are large chested at all, I wouldn't go with 4. If you have an hour glass shape 1,2, and 3 would all be pretty. I like 2 because it would be the most flattering on a larger chest which a lot of plus sized women have.

I thought they were all cute, but the ice tea one is my favorite!

I think they're all really nice, but my pick would be #2 then #1. I'd be concerned about the length of all of them. I'm not quite plus size but definitely overweight (mainly my lower half), and I wouldn't wear anything that comes above the knee. The first and last dress have photos of larger women wearing the dress, and both of the dresses are above the knee. That would rule them out immediately for me.

My vote is for #1 ... but can't you find something here in Canada? Apparently there is a really great formal wear store at Cross Iron Mills

I like #2 the best, and think it would look better than the others if you have a large chest (which I do so I think about that). I would also check the length of any of them, because like someone else said I wouldn't want it to be too short.

I'm plus size and I love the I Love Your Dress. I have it in a cobalt blue and it's just gorgeous. The shape and style of the waistband are very flattering. That would be my choice of the ones you posted. I ordered the Artisan Tea dress once and didn't care for it.

They are all very pretty!
But I would caution you against #4. My DD has a dress almost exactly like that one and there isn't a sewn hem. It's just cut lace and #4 appears that way as well. Every time I wash the dress (hand washed!), I have to trim the hem to get rid of the raggedy edge. The dress got shorter and shorter... So I'd either avoid that one, or give it a proper hem.

All these dresses emphasize the arms - and in August you might not want to wear a separate wrap. If you're one who carries your weight in hips and thighs - I like 2 the best. If you are at all in the apple realm - the emphasis on your waist might not be your friend. All these are pretty short so make sure you're very comfortable with your legs - that or you're exceptionally short.

I like the third one the best. I'd never be able to wear #1 personally-- even mock turtlenecks make me wretch (I feel like I am choking).

I'd go with #1 or #2 but my only thought is that the waists on both look pretty high to me. So again, it depends on body type. Also, the length as others have mentioned. I personally don't like anything much above the knee anymore (I'm 53).

4 is my favorite.
I really like 2.
1 is nice - but the other two have more details.
3 is my least favorite but it's nice too, I like the navy of the others better.
I think navy is very popular for spring but I think you'll have to lighten it up with a white sweater and silver? shoes. Get a nice silver bag. I have a perfect one - wish I could lend it to you.
Paige.

I'm plus sized and I wouldn't go for any of those simply because I wouldn't want to wear anything without a sleeve, which would mean I would also need to find a wrap of some sort to cover up my flabby arms. I wear things without sleeves but I always have a cardigan or light sweater on as well.

I have the iced tea dress, and #3 but in purple. love them both! I've worn the iced tea dress to a wedding, it was a semi-casual summer one. it does come off kinda casual. it's not a dark navy. it can be dressed up with jewelry sure. it's also a touch short for me, i'm 5'4 but i'm a little chunky. they have awesome skirt extenders with lace that look nice underneath, I own them in ivory and dusty rose.
the "love your dress" is also one of those ones that is pretty casual.. you could dress it up, but it's always going to be a plain jersey dress, tho styled nicely. if that suits the style of the wedding, go for it.
the windy city dress has been on my wishlist for years, I think the sheerness of the top layer is better suited for dressier occasions. the high neck wouldn't bother me, unless you are in a place where may is already really hot.

I love #2 the most and I like them all. #4 is my least favorite because of the thinner strap.

Look at Talbots. Their dresses are nicely made and often lined. Knit dresses aren't the tissue knits that show every lump and bump. They are made to skim over a woman's body.
The fit and flare dresses are very flattering and come in woman's petite if that what you need. I'll like a few dresses when I get to my computer. And dresses are on sale right now.

I think #1 is adorable, but would worry the high neck would be too hot in August. If plus size, I don't see #4 being very flattering. I think #2 or #3 are a great choice.
